Congratulations and best wishes Joan Chamorro for the great work you are doing in promoting , nurturing and training the Sant Andreuws jazz band for the last 15 years or so . , I am bewildered when I hear all those performances by the very young kids and the adolescents such as Andrea ,Rita , Eva Magali and those little ARMANGOU SISTERS AND ALL THOSE OTHER TEEN AGED YOUNG BOYS AND GIRLS who play like seasoned professional jazz musicians . It must have been a herculean task bringing them all together and training them to get that authentic jazz feel to sound as good or even better than a comparable band from USA ,the home of jazz. To think that you have managed to keep them all together without developing egos in spite of their individual brilliance is a highly commendable task .I love them all ,from the little Armengou doll to the virtuoso Andrea and the beautiful Magali .Eva , Rita , Carla . I know that some have now graduated to the position of concert jazz musicians and are not always with SAJB ,but I see another batch of talented youngsters coming in to keep SAJB swinging . I am a part time pro SAX PLAYER who didnt have any formal musical education or training as we dont have facilities in my country .SRI LANKA ,which is a tiny island near India . I am entirely self taught and cannot read music I have 5 tracks of my playing on KZfaq on my Tenor and Soprano . Hope you would have the time to listen to them as I have a completely different tone on my Tenor and Soprano . The KZfaq link is KUMAR MOLLIGODA - ALL OF ME . I have a collection of 15 saxes including a YANAGISAWA Low A Baritone . I have played for six years in the big hotels in the Middle East where I met several Pop Bands and Flamenco Dance groups from Spain . I would some day like to visit Spain to meet you and the boys and girls of SAJB . Please give my regards to all your musicians and tell them that I wished that they would shine on the International Jazz scene as good as the best from USA. i WONDER WHETHER YOU OR ANY OF YOUR MUSICIANS ARE ON FACE BOOK . Maravillosa Élia Bastida con el violín, como siempre. No sé si habrá algún otro violinista a su nivel en el actual panorama del jazz mundial. Bueno sí, la francesa Fiona Monbet y poquito más. Fantásticos Marc Martín al piano y Josep Traver a la guitarra, otras dos grandes figuras ya muy consolidadas internacionalmente. Y la chavalería actual de la SAJB, entre los que se puede ver en la fila de saxos a Lola Peñaranda y Koldo Munné, en los trombones a Max Tato y arriba en las trompetas a Elsa Armengóu, además de dos jóvenes veteranas ya muy consagradas como las dos Albas (Armengóu y Esteban) que para mi sorpresa parece que todavía seguían formado parte de la banda (por la camiseta, digo), aunque quizá este fuera su concierto de despedida.
