Edit: Ok fine. I understand Taekwondo can be useful but most Taekwondo practitioners only do the newer Taekwondo style. I didn’t mean to offend anyone ok? I was just using it as an example for the top comment. Also, I was talking about the new Sport Taekwondo style ok. It’s just a misunderstanding sorry for the inconvenience. I will change my example to Capoeira being flashy but useless.

Kung fu Is an umbrella term for all of the Chinese martial arts. The same way kenjutsu is an umbrella term for all Japanese sword related martial arts excluding iaido and kendo, so technically yes Kung fu is a martial art you just have to be more specific when you say “I train in Kung fu”

Well actually 🤓👆 Taekwondo is a main general martial art of tang soo do, which focuses on forms. Aikido is nothing like karate. Judo same. I dobt see the relation between kicks and spinning people over your body with a single hand, using their weight against them. I'm in a family where we have trained nearly all these martial arts and my family knows all about it, we train tang soo do, mu do kwan style as a main. Also how is some spinning kicks dangerous, muy tai is stronger than karate, karate is about speed, muy tai is power, I'm not sure because I've never been in the situation but, If you were fighting someone in the street would you lightly kick them, or absolutely annihilate them with a strong focused kick, like muy tai? I'm sure you picked the strong kick didn't you? I use insane spinning stuff, don't get me wrong, I'm due to sit my black belt test before the end of this year, I use lots of karate stuff within my martial art, but the other martial arts all have differences, all styles are unique, some do branch off but aikido, is NOTHING like karate

Kung-fu - so much moves to learn and master them will take at least 20 years! It's better to choose style and master that style! Takewondo - against untrained will work, but if faced kick-boxer, it's an L every time for takewondo. Judo - good for close contact wrestling, but if faced box or other Marshall Arts that keeps you away from contact, it's usless. A lot of good chokes and handbrakeing holds. Karate - trains speed... makes your PP... ops, I mean hands hard. Aikido - unless! Muay Thai - one of the top Marshall Arts out there! Master it will take you at least 10 years! Increases bone density, stamina, and decreases IQ😅 Jiu-jitsu - at least 10 years to master... one of the top performers in the MMA arena. Kendo - turns any stick into wepon 😂 Krav Maga - I've never heard of it! Capoeira - same as the last one!

Very true. If people wants to know what art suit them, its going to be the one they use in a real fight. If youre a martial artist, the arts will just be there naturally without having to think. In a real fight, theres no time to think. I had been involved in a couple of short fights and what came out naturally from me is 60 percent muay thai and 40 percents are whatever when i personally like kung fu more. All martial arts are great. But its not about the art, its the artist.

Being a martial artist and being a fighter are two different things. Most traditional martial arts schools train you to be a martial artist and they usually train either to score points in tournaments or to perform demonstrations doing katas and breaking boards, and a lot of those practitioners can achieve the highest rank in their discipline but never or rarely actually fight or don’t have any fighting record. Fighters fight for living and they train to either finish or dominate their opponents in front of spectators.

Thank you, sparring and competition are essential in learning how to fight. If you can’t properly execute your techniques against a fit, well-trained opponent who is genuinely trying to beat you up, or a partner, who while still fit and well trained, isn’t trying to beat you up, you have no reason to believe you can do so anywhere else.

In my opinion: 1. Lethwei headbuts that can send the nose bones in the brain 2. Boxing a strong cross punch that knocks you down so hard that you hit your head in the concrete and you die 3. Muay Thai/Kickboxing because of strong kicks that knocks you to the ground hitting your head in the concrete again and you die 4. Muay Boran it is meant for killing 5. that is true, but the techniques are all dangerous, thats why excessive meditation and control is neccesary as it could put trauma in ones arm, for example techniques like shihyo nage ( dont know if thats correct or not spelling ) can easily break someones armif you do it incorrectly, my teacher said it doesnt matter if ur in a real oife situation, in a real life situation you are allowed to apply the force and pressure to protect yourself.

@@oompapampa5377 (There is no y) and I feel like a lot of them are dangerous yes, but the more straightforward techniques like Irimi or Ikkyo can be easily used (I used them in a sparring with my Muay Thaï teacher) (he also uses Aïkido but while adding moves to be more easy to perform and way more brutal, like... Aikibudo level of brutality)

In ancient times, Silat was often used by Malay people to kill each other, whether using weapons or not. Silat was rarely seen because most of the original techniques were techniques for paralyzing and killing opponents.

Fact : all this martial arts are came from an indian martial art called kalaripayyttu. The oldest and deadliest martial arts in world. Other like karate , judo and kung fu are developed according to their culture and modern times . But sadly kalaripayyttu didn't. Because when britishers came to india they ban this art . And never became popular like others martial arts till now
