@@faylinnmystiquerose2224 yeah late game you can become a legit god with smithing, enchanting and alchemy. early game can be challenging. high level mages are consistently hard if you don’t have resistances because spells ignore armor. feels bad having 11K armor rating and being one shot by a rando master fire mage 😭

@@GozzerP I'm usually a master Lightning mage ;) dual-casted thunderbolt can be quite devastating, and moreso with potions.

After many a runs through the lands of skyrim you will enchant-smith to obscenity and roleplay

I will never forget my first ever battle with him, I died in the very first hit.. The worst is that.. It was my hit that got me killed, because of the reflection perk in the heavy armor skill tree, he literally used my own power to destroy me in one hit :')

YES. Getting Auriel's Bow and going through the Soul Cairn are both MAJOR slogs. The quest for Auriel's Bow at least has sunlight and some magnificent views. The Soul Cairn is merely dark and depressing.

for some reason those dragons didnt spawn for me which made my quest 10000 times easier. This time it took me about 3 hrs (from the moment i entered soul cairn to getting the bow) but the last time just because of those two dragons it took me days bcz i would just rage quit.

Edit to original post: The main reason I'm salty with this quest is because when I got through everything and got the bow, the weapon glitched out of existence in my game. I loved that bow but the quest to get it is a nightmare sometimes. I didn't want to reset my game either to play back and whatever level I was before so I pressed on without the bow after that. I swear I searched through every companions things I had given them, every chest in my houses but the bow just phased into nothingness.

Same man, I have the enhanced dragon mod too so when they BOTH came out I was like nahhhh and just ran away lmao.

oh i figured out a Mage build that was REALLY easy to cheese enemies with: ALL you need is the "Impact" perk, which needs only Destruction 40. that perk enables you to "stagger" enemies with any dual-cast spell. i was able to "stagger-lock" MIRAAK with that and beat him EASILY! the ONLY enemies i ever met that this did NOT work on were Tsun and Alduin (second battle), the last two enemies in the main quest.

finding the guy who took the credit for her work just wanderimg around, and avenging her memory was what made the quest that much more worth it

It was truly an honor to fight along side Katria and avenge her stolen knowledge. I keep her journal in the chests in one of my homes and smile whenever I go through it to get something else.

Also one of my favorite quests. She was a great follower and the VA did a great job of capturing her emotions.

I hated that necromancer with a burning passion, that was the hardest quest I've experienced yet.

Hardest part of that quest was not getting jumpscared when Meridia spoke.

Its left to chance because its random what city gets a quest when you request it from Delvin. Most of us rush through the dialogue, then quicksave before the quest initializes. This way if it generates in a undesirable city you can reload and reroll without going thru the dialogue again

you can also go to vex too to get two done at once. i got the same city for both a couple times. i’ve also done this quest about 5 times, so :\

All you have to keep track of is which cities you've done the special quest for. You don't have to count the number of quests for each because it keeps track for you.

You don't really have to quit any jobs if you don't want to. Its not like the game expects you to complete five jobs for each of the four cities consecutively. The game does keep track (even if it dosen't show you) of how many jobs you've done for each.

It's not that difficult. Just visit a giant camp. I'm sure one of them will be more than willing to send you to the "cloud district."😉

As an Oblivion enjoyer and Alchemist, I really liked him back in the old days. It makes me smile every time when I recieve his book as reward, i worked alot with and for him during the Oblivion crisis.

Depends what kind of follower you have. Npcs actually have skills like you. Some may be suited for archery while others are suited for sneaking

I absolutely never use a follower when I am doing a sneak build.

i like to play using sword+shield tactics. it works pretty well IF you learn some good "block" perks. now, playing with sword in both hands, which means you CAN'T BLOCK AT ALL, would be really hard.

Once you get huge magic resist and armor from smithing and enchanting the game is really easy

Bad thing about Paralysis is it works for a brief time for large amount of mana as far as I remember.

@@Cybernaut76It’s a free and ranged paralysis potion. It’s pretty good. If you dual cast and use the Stability perk, they’re paralyzed for 33s. This can be vastly extended with fortify alteration potions. I have essentially unlimited magicka, and it gets completely overpowered by then.

Just save the game just after you asked for it quickly before the title actually pops up and you can reload until you get the quests you need so it’s not as tedious

Yes, it's easy to mark the quests on paper and yes, you can reload just after accepting the quest to get a new one. That's what I do every time. But you only do these things when you know about them and a new player without the knowledge could have problems here.

@Jazon Topher Yes, but it's an incredibly long list that isn't ordered at all, and there's at least 25 of these quests to keep track off. You need to do 5 per hold, and you get quests for random holds, so unless you do the reload trick there's going to be way more than 25 of them.

yeah I went through with barely enough magicka to pass the college entrance test and killed him in a few hits.

i had i think like 110 magika points, so it was pretty easy as a 2 handed sword or axe wielding health sponge in heavy dragon bone armor.

Weirdly enough, I always thought Morokei was one of the tamer priests. Usually I get Krosis first and then Morokei. Other than Miraak, I can't remember any priest killing me at all. What I suck at is fighting vampires. In this run prioritised Meridia's quest so that I can whip their asses with style :)

I remember using a modded ring that gave me like 250K magic, which he absorbed multiple times

I rarely put perks into magica it's always heavy on stamina with some on health and maybe 10 into magica even on mage builds lol

I haven't played through all of it, but so far it's my favourite too! I really enjoy it.

I enjoyed it as well honestly liked it more then the actual dawnguard domain quest

Also the Dwemer scraps can be used to grind smithing legitimately

The first time I fought Morokei was on my lvl12 mage. What an absolute pain. Though eventually I got lucky coz he derped out and got stuck and then I just shot 200 arrows at his head.

Enough followers makes a difference as well

It's extremely funny to me that the mage questline is actually much easier to beat when you're not a magic user. Get Spellbreaker and a weapon that deals lightning damage, and you're pretty much settled.

For the love of Talos, install the tracker mod. It makes life so much easier. I managed to get about 75% of them without it, after about a 200 hour playthrough, but those last handful were just impossible to find without the tracker. They were all in some tucked away, shadow-strewn bookshelf in a dark corner of an obscure dungeon or tower I never went to or visited once on a side quest and never saw the need to return to. How anyone manages this without a mod, I'll never know.

@@tomread8748 Thanks for that tip. I've found all but like three or four and I cannot be bothered anymore to look for the rest. Maybe now I'll see about this mod so I can finish the hunt.

You can also find a screenshot or file that lists all 24 gems and their locations. I usually save the major city ones (like the one on Balgruuf's table) for the end because those are clearly the easiest. All you have to do is sneak into the house or room and if the person is sleeping just /wait and they will go do their thing. Just create a checklist and you will be fine. The perk at the end is 100% worth it $$$$$$$

You can also console command I believe and turn in 24 afterwards. Get the quest, search Tolvald's cave for the crown, and reap the rewards. Of course, if you already have a million gold in one of your stashes or houses, don't bother.

i mean one used to be gold.. i remember there being a bug in wich if you triggered the serial killer quest you could actually take the wounded overlay from the corpse and wear it yourself.. now the funniest shit about that bug is that you could wear it regardless of being a man or a woman.. if you were a man however you would still be wearing a woman's undergarments.. now when i found this bug first i was playing as a tough orc guy.. so imagine my reaction when i put the wound overlay on and i end up basically wearing a bikini as this tough looking orc 😂 i actually still have some screenshots on my steam account but it was unfortunately patched out not too long after i discovered it

yep always sell the skull necklace. I think the game even makes it so the only way you can complete the quest without selling the necklace is exiting out of the dialogue. I think there is also a bug where if you end up with multiple amulets of Talos before finishing a quest, the remaining amulet/s and all later Talos amulets will remain quest items and be permanently unable to be dropped/sold.

Where’s the fun in having 2 daedric lords at level 10? I had early daedric lords at my first playthrough and it literally stopped me from playing since the game’s just so easy now

I got the creation club daedric armour you can get starting at lvl 5, and it broke my game to the point I put 100 hrs into the save and had to stop because the enemys just destroy my health even though I have weapons that were dealing around 30-35 damage per hit. EVEN AS A STEALTH ARCHER

@@iverpagente3391 I'm a high level player and at that point, most of the fun is from fucking around with mods tbh. Not like Skyrim was hard before that but you know.

The higher-tier weapons are heavier, which makes them significantly slower. Without any mods to nerf smithing, you will be _much_ better off with an improved steel weapon than with an ebony one in terms of both DPS as well as stun-locking with power hits.

I devoted so much of my time with Skyrim almost 10 years ago. It's 10/10 enjoyment for me.

The only Bethesda games that I haven't played yet are TES Arena, Daggerfall, and Fallout 3. I want to play Fallout 3, but it's so hard to get it running on PC. :/

@@waynepurcell6058 It usually bugs out. Your probably not doing anything wrong. There’s usually a bug where a Cube goes missing or Neloth stops moving or gets trapped or a Door wont open. Look it up. This quest is famous for its game breaking bugs! So famous that people figured ways to literally trick the game in to unbugging itself. For sure example moving a Cube fast enough it thinks you have them all when you don’t cos one bugs out and disappears.

*very angry eye twitches* I legitimately got an ass ton of overpowered ass armor enchantments to fight Miraak but my game on Switch just went "Oh you left and prepped? That's cute. FUCK YOU! Bugged dragon for you!" The dragon that's SUPPOSED to attack you when you enter the book just.... sits there in the middle of the arena like I should mount him and then just... does nothing. 3 words Bend Will fails. I can't ride him. He doesn't die. He doesn't attack me. He just.... sits there

it really is a pretty good game. If you've gotten the steam version, there are DLC sized mods for it too, just in case 750 hours of random wandering weren't enough.

It's not a masterpiece, not by far. It's just a perfect playground for the modding comunity; the thing I hate the most about this game (even if I still have lots of fun with it) is that there are so many aspects which seem just...unfinished, or inconsistent. One example is the thieves' guild questline: I just can't believe there wasn't any form of quest to take down that b**** a** Marwen Blackbriar, come on!

But keep in mind, this game got a lot of things right that AAA games today don't. And it is made in 2011 (probably in development years before that) So yeah. I think it is safe to say that it is a masterpiece. I agree with you that some questlines could have been done differently or some elements feel unfinished or uncertain and even buggy. But this game as a whole is still a piece of art to me aging like this through a decade.

The answer will surprise you!) Horses? Don't even get me started, and when the game came out you coudn't even fight on them! Werewolves are a powerhouse, yeah, if you don't mind the LACK OF ARMOR, because the game still considers you as "naked" And I'm sparing you the entire AI topic, just because other contemporary games managed to do even worse (I'm looking at oyu, Cyberpunk!) and, after all, it is more comedy gold than anything else I'm sorry guys, but this is NOT a masterpiece, especially when even the most basics things need to be modded in It's a fun game, it's a modding paradise, but, personally, I don't wanna lower my standards to this level. All, in all, it's all a matter of tastes...RIGHT?

thats how i did it, kept a notepad on hand and kept track of which cities ive done and which quests i already did for them. i also saved before each one and reloaded if it wasnt the one i needed. took soooo many reloads to complete cause i would get a string of the same cities over and over. i hated the randomness of it but eventually i finished it.

i mean i tend to do them for some extra money early on anyways.. so it's never been a bother for me

It's fairly funny that someone might need a protip from youtube to... well, use a paper and a pen. "If you're able to write, put down all the city names in a list and be sure to draw a stick in front of each, every time you complete a quest in a respective city..." I mean... it's a pity you don't have them gathered in a single section of the journal, but this video makes an obvious exaggeration.

same, plus I think any played above 20 wouldn't have an issue with any of these quests if they aren't just barreling straight into the fray.

The thing about Nahkriin is he uses ice, which fucks with melee mains and lighting which fucks with pure mages. For sneak archers hes pretty tame though. I got lucky enough to merc him before he takes his staff. 😎

The quest always seemed really similar to the lost legend quest where you reconstruct the amulet. The end boss fight with the respawning draugr and the mage boss makes it too hard

One of the best quests in the whole game imo

It is easily the best quest in the game. I still have no idea how it has anything to do with the Dawnguard, so it just seems like they locked their finest effort behind the DLC pay wall. Which is a very Bethesda thing to do. For that matter, most of the quests in Dragonborn are better than any of the main storylines too

@@editorrbr2107 I mean, the DLC hasn’t been sold sepparately from the game in years, I think a lot of people got it with special edition, so I wouldn’t really consider it a pay wall anymore.

@@editorrbr2107 definitely one of the best quests but I personally prefer the dawnguard quest line to any other quest line in the game and I wasn't a fan of the dragonborn DLC's story but I can't say I hated it

Well when Katria bowed to me at the end , she was joyful to the extreme. She's like the only one in Skyrim that's truly happy you helped her. That made the quest worth it to me more than the crown i made.

Yes. The quests in Riften are a complete waste of time with no real benefit and the one in Raven Rock cannot be completed.
