Great video! I found it fascinating to understand more about the mythical animals of Korea; they are among the most fascinating mythical beings in the world.

Correction, the second creature is "Haetae" 해태. The AI voice is trying to apply the Chinese Xiezhi 獬豸 pronunciation of the creature's name.
@SeeUinHistoryАй бұрын
@SaturnGrl This is a real human doing the narration, not an AI. But yes, the pronunciation of Korean names is tricky for us humans as well.👍

해태 and 해치 are two different creatures!
@SaturnGrlАй бұрын
@@hslee625625 Actually, its not. Your use of 해치 "Haechi", is directly derived from the Chinese 獬豸 "Xiezhi", which is the etymological name of the more commonly used 해태 “Haetae” of today.

Over half of these (haechi, gumiho, imugi, bonghwang, gwisin, chollima) are just copy and paste Chinese mythological beings...virtually nothing added or taken away from what they are in China except pronouncing their names in Korean.
