‘Im becoming a beer person’ 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻🍻🍻🍻- good girl! Only having passed through a few of the airports, I only got to see a fleeting glimpse of Berlin, it strikes me as a very impressive country for its organisation and its ability to think ahead, unlike here in the UK where we are always reacting too little and too late. Just the size of its economic and manufacturing growth since the tragedy of WWII is testament to that. Annoyingly good at footy too. Great to hear the view of the outsider now living there. Good job Sarah

You are doing a great job on getting to know your new home better. As for the video from that guy, let me share some spontaneous thoughts. I think the pictures of the pupils were not in Germany, because we don't have school uniforms (except for some expensive private schools, maybe). And we do have more cultural highlights than just the Oktoberfest. This is just Bavaria. The guy from the video obviously is from the US of A, they tend to minimize Germany to Bavaria. When I got it right, you are located in Northrhine-Westfalia. Maybe you could visit a local Schützenfest with your husband. A tradition in the north-west of Germany since the 15th century. Apart from beer, the southwest of Germany has to offer world-class wines. And he didn't talk about German food. We do have so much more than just Sauerkraut (which tastes great, by the way, plus it is healthy). A big point is the fall of the Berlin Wall 30 years ago. East- and West-Germany peacefully unified again after 40 years of political separation. Today's Germany is colorful and open-minded. The one thing, that has never changed is: We are always complaining about the weather. It's too cold, it's too hot, it's too rainy, it doesn't rain enough, it's too windy,... Well, that's just us. I just hope you feel welcomed in this beautiful country.

Thank you for sharing, it was really interesting and the landscape looks beautiful, I have always wanted to go to Germany and I want a Black Forest cuckoo clock, my grandmother had one and I loved it as a child. Have a wonderful day Sarah, blessings from Janet ❤️

You know, the problem here is that the original name of Oktoberfest is Wiesn. It got called Oktoberfest by the Americans occupying Bavaria right after WWII, even though it takes place in the last 2 weeks of September (usually ending around the beginning of October). Fun fact: although most people mistake it for a beer fest, it actually isn´t.. 😅. It stays true to its origins of wedding party, meaning people just want to dance and have fun and get wasted🤣.

Second biggest "Oktoberfest" in the world is Stuttgart "Wasen" (around 4mio visitors, still above the chinese "Octoberfest" with about 3.5mio visitors), NOT that Canadian thing with just about half a million visitors!

Americanizations every German is sick of: History starts with world war 2. the 2000 year since the roman empire don't count. Lederhosen and dirdle, ogh and again, and again. And non tradition wear from any other region. Hills and castles, yes there are mountains right at the north and baltic sea! At least there is the Ironwork. Beer and Football. You can't drink anything else or do other sports! A very limeted view. i hope they do more. I love your reaction and the charismatic way you go about it. Have fun exploring a complex and beatiful country.

Really cool video, nice to see you watching it. Education is important and can give you more opportunities and she should be available for everyone and not just be a privilege for a few rich guy's. I'm pretty sure 2022 there will be an Oktoberfest.

@@SarahDengler You don't have to be in Munich to participate in Octoberfest. You can also go to an Oktoberfest in Berlin and Hamburg. In Munich there are too many tourists (mostly Americans and Brits) who can't handle the German beer and are totally drunk after only half a glass. ;)

Sarah, the age of cars is over, surely it will be in some years - and what will germany be then without it? We are a very young country and we are very divided inside, i personally think that some parts of this country should not belong to whole germany, sorry. But btw, you are very welcome here at all, I hope you will make ur way through this. We need more of ur kind here in this "state of independance", lol.

Hi I like your video. To correct some mistakes of the video you rected to: 1. Germany isn't the biggest country in Europe - that's by far Russia.2. Berlin was the capitol of Germany also after WWII, only not of FRG but of GDR. 3. There were no German states to be united before 1871 - there were states untied that became Germany. Such a thing as Germany didn't exist before. To your enterprise to visit the Munich Octoberfest - well give it at try but bo also for the smaller local ones and compare it to those. The Munich Oktoberfest is a tourist trap with too many far too drunk partitiants for far away too much money - but it's the biggest tourist trap and may be therefore worth it.

Here in 🇺🇸 the civil war was fought between two political ideologies. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican, born from the abolitionists party. Democrats separated from 🇺🇸 to preserve slavery. They became the Confederates between 1860 and 1865.
