If you want to add even more bass to the B&O sound system in your Audi B9 S5 Sportback, then this is the video for you. This video will walk you through the steps to have your own 10” JL subwoofer making sweet bass sounds in your ride. It’s a fairly easy install and will only require minimal tools and skill. Thanks again! I followed your video and dadrocker guide to install the subwoofer setup in my B9 S5 sportback. It sounds amazing!!!!! Especially after uprading the B&O speakers by following you other video. This was my first time installing any type of car audio. Your video guides made the process easy. Awesome work! I’m really excited about your mids speaker replacement. I contacted some local shops and they want to replace the DSP for $$$$... I think the mids are a real letdown and I’m excited to see your progress!

The mids and front center, will cost about $850 when all done. According to my expert, Bruce Miranda, the stock amp is good when paired with better speakers.

Awesome setup. I'm working on a similar setup because of your videos. Quick question on the remote wire (the grey). I see that it was routed beneath the molding, but where is it connected from, and where should it be connect to?

Add dynamat or other sound deadening to the inside of the area where the basser box is installed, the sound difference is night and day.

Dude this is awesome. Purchasing a A5 soon. I have the focal 8" isu 200 would they fit in either the front or rear parts of the car? I have them from my previous vehicle and really don't want to lose using that set.

I have a 2013 A4 Allroad with the B&O 6" sub thingy that surrounds the spare tire in the cargo floor. Been trying to figure out how to upgrade this thing. Needs more thump.

What settings did you set in the MMI when doing the KEY DSP learning functions? What other dial settings are people using?

Excellent video. Really helped with my install. On an unrelated note, are those Hartmann wheels you have on the car in this video? The Audi stock wheels typically have the anthracite with machined front finish but these seem to be all anthracite. I believe only Hartmann makes these and I have never seen any actual pictures of them installed before.

Is there a way to get the subwoofer opcion in the mmi menu? I have the factory subwoofer in the trunk but no way to adjust the volume of it, i can control the bass volume but tho

Do you have any info about the 3D printed bracket you said you were having made? I'm looking at doing this and would prefer a bracket as opposed to zip tying the amp in place.

So does using that bruce miranda cable harness remove the need to use a line out converter? I had a shop install my aftermarket sub and amp but it wont operate correctly sometimes when turning the car on. Does that kicker amp have a LOC built into it?

Hey, how much did it cost in the end to do all this? Not including any tools just speaker - related stuff. I know I can look it up but I am lacy and some of the parts can not be bought anymore. Looking to do this in our new b9 a5. Great video!

This set up sounds great. If you want lots and lots of deep, thumping bass, it's capable of that. If you want to adjust the settings and just have that more complete sound, it will do that as well.

I have a harness to not tap into the factory wires. I bought the Cerwin Vega VS12SH which has no amplifier but is a 4 Ohm Sub. B&O sub for 2022m Q5 is 2X8 Ohm. Can I still use the speaker?

i always did notice the bass in my b9 s5 was shit. if i crank the volume up higher, it makes a wack vibration bass from the door panels. sub woofer seems fine. So doing this mod will make it more of a chest pounding bass rather than a vibration sound? I thought a better bass will make the door rattling bass worse

you know how to add the sub in the media mox of audi ? i dont have a sub in mine,so cant wire the new sub to the old one. i cant find a sheet of the net for audio radio/media box wires. there are more ppl with this problem where no info is found.

I don’t know off the top of my head, but I could look into it. With the kicker key amp, you could just pull the signal off of the door speaker. I can look into this and make a video, though. Let me know what car/ system you have.

I'm sorry I'm not an audio/electronics guy..did you remove the factory Amp? I have to assume not unless the other speakers run directly off the factory unit/mmi Also, I have a b9 rs5 sb..theoretically it should be the same right

Did not remove the factory amp. The Bruce Miranda cable plugs into the spot where the existing subwoofer is plugged into and the factory amp stays in place to run the rest of the speakers, including the stock sub, if you leave it in place.

Does the MMI control the subwoofer or will I need an external bass knob to control the subwoofer?

The MMI will still control the sub. It’s like stock, but waaay better! You’ll need to fiddle with the gain and bass boost settings on the amp and set them to your taste. There is also a automatic calibration you can run on the amp. Instructions for that are in the manual and a few videos here on KZfaq.

I didn’t install a bass knob, I let the MMI subwoofer control do it’s thing.

@@Vaguh Currently, jl is installed. Loudly, the bass is lost, it just knocks. Maybe its output is low and it would sound better when listened to with a higher output speaker? The hertz specs look like almost the same, but 500w rms instead jl's 300 at 2 ohm

@@lestat2244g I have the gain turned way down on my amp, and spent a lot of time tuning it how I like. You may need to do the same. If you’re passing frequencies too high, it will wash out and sound like crap.

Crimp your ferrules!!!! It's a $20 kit on Amazon

When you tighten the lug on the amps terminal, it will crimp the ferrule. If you do it before, it won’t fit in the terminal.
