• १०० मिली/ १/२ कप तेल
• १ मोठा चमचा जिरं
• कढीपत्ता
• २५० ग्रॅम / २ कप बारीक चिरलेला कांदा
• १/४ कप पंढरपुरी डाळं / डाळवं
• १०~१२ लसूण पाकळ्या
• १५ हिरव्या मिरच्या

Matar usal and bread is a famous breakfast recipe of Pune. As matar or fresh peas are available in abundance in winter can call it winter special recipe. I will show you to make matar usal in cooker and that too 1 proportion of 1 kg!! I will give you lot many tips and tricks during the video. It is a very easy and simple recipe. It looks nice and tastes simply delicious. It gets nice color, perfect consistency. It can be a good option for your pav bhaji. It can be a good brunch too. Ingredients:
• 100 ml / 1/2 cup Oil
• 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
• Curry leaves
• 250 gm / 2 cup finely chopped Onion
• 1/4 cup roasted Chana dal
• 10~12 Garlic cloves
• 15 Green chilies
• 100 gram / 1 cup grates fresh Coconut
• 1/2 bunch Coriander leaves
• Water as needed
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 tbsp Coriander powder
• 1 tsp Red chili powder
• 1 tbsp Goda masala
• 1 kg fresh Peas
• Salt to taste
• Hot Water as needed
Method:
• Heat up oil in a cooker and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, onion.
• Fry until onion gets golden color.
• For making masala blend roasted chana dal, garlic, green chilies, coriander leaves, water into
coarse paste in mixer. Masala is ready.
• You can roast 2 tsp besan after onion, coconut is roasted well instead of roasted chana dal.
• You can use dry coconut in place of fresh coconut.
• When onion begins to get light golden color add the blended masala and fry it well for about
5-6 minutes.
• Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, goda masala and fry together for
about 2 minutes.
• You can use kala masala or any other masala that you use regularly in your home.
• Add fresh peas, salt and fry well.
• Add water and mix well.
• Steam usal on medium heat for 20 minutes. Make sure there is no whistle.
• You can cook the sabzi on medium heat until 2 whistles.
• Open the lid and mix well once.
• Turn on the gas and add hot water as needed.
• Mix well and bring it to boil. Matar usal is ready.
• This will be sufficient for 10 people.
• Serve the usal with ladi pav, finely chopped onion, shev and a slice of lemon.
