I homeschooled my 7 children over 32 years. Schedule and dejunking was vital to my sanity! My children are not minimalists, but appreciate the teaching they had to organize and dejunk from time to time! I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder a few years back. Having my little house streamlined has been a huge blessing to me. I can rest at the necessary times and my house maintains order.

I have also applied the decluttering/minimalism mindset to other areas of my life besides my home! It gives me so much clarity. Sometimes we don't even realize we're doing things that are counter to our life goals until we frame them in the "decluttering" mindset.

I think you are right on the money, Shannon. People don’t even think about not signing their children up for a lot of activities and how it affects them and the family. Life is hectic enough without having to hurry through dinner to get to somewhere for an extra activity. Kids need down time too. Seeing your Mom in some of the clips, I was wondering how she is enjoying more breathing space in her house with all the Swedish death cleaning she has been doing? I can only think that she would be liking it. Great video, good tips. Take care!

Keeping things simple, tidy, and intentional is something that I've always strived for also. We grew up without so I'm naturally intentional. My Mom took the opposite approach as she has wanted everything she sees because she can afford to go a little outside of finances, though I'm proud of her for recently getting rid of several things.

I just loved that you aren't signing your kids up for every activity possible. I was older when I had my son, and I just had to say no to some things because I just didn't have the energy to run around more. If they really want to do something, they can do it when they grow up.

Shannon, Totally enjoyed, love Naomi the Swedish lady is one of favorite. Will be checking out some of the other ones you talked about. Today I got rid of four big pieces but furniture from my home made me feel so good and that I was able to help somebody else that didn't have furniture for their home. I am working on the guest room a little at a time and used to be my home school loan and I have made a big dent in it and I can't wait to get it finished. I still like crafting so I have a little bit of trouble not buying new crafts to do, but crafts are a stress reliever right now it helps a lot my husband is battling cancer and the outcome is not looking good. At least with the craft I make if I don't want to keep them I can just give him away to Salvation Army or something or somebody else that wants to have something nice for their home. God bless you and your family, Hi to mom🤗🤗💕

I’ve had to slow down ater my fall in the garden. Enjoying watching your videos! Noemi & her family are amazing & love their house & lifestyle. Simplicity is the key. Live your life not somebody elses. Stop to watch nature. Love my ducks & garden. I’m currently deciding exactly how many sets of clothes I need in one year. Maybe starting with 24sets - 2 sets for each month as I’m not buying more clothes. Then will get the number down to sets per season, then Spring/Summer & Autumn/Winter. It’s much more complicated with a family so you have to simplify & be really organised. I have oats, honey & water every morning except birthdays & Christmas. Add fruit if needed. Enjoy your day!

Hands down, the best video to date on how to naturally create a simpler more peaceful life! This is real life, real wisdom, relatability. It is full of examples, both realistic and encouraging. Honestly, I believe it will encourage everyone who watches it. I hope that this channel continues to grow because it is helpful in every way that I can see. If I am biased, it is because all of these 10 lessons describe my past 5 year journey to a tee. I'm just thankful that you can be the content creator to get the word out :D I found this summary through watching: 1. Continual mindset= continual peaceful home 2. Routines= comforting not boring ( often misidentified as drudgery but realistically, have the opposite effect) 3. Inspiration= encouragement ( this channel is my favorite source) 4. Inner motivation= remembering your "why"... your personal values 5. Zero FOMO= greater everyday focus & Joy 6. Organization= ongoing reassessment made easier 7. Less is More= less worldly distractions just as valuable as less physical stuff 8. Contentment= priceless!! 9. Ditch envy! Ditch comparison! 10. No overthinking, No worrying what other's think, Stay true to you, peaceful home is the result

I know when my kids were small we made choices about activities, and I think it served them well to be in one or two activities they loved rather than having crazy schedules. “What am I going to eat today?” is prob my biggest headache. Lol. Although I scrap breakfast and have my one XL iced coffee routine, so it all starts at lunchtime. I guess maybe I am afraid I’ll get so bored as if maybe I’ll lose the fun of being spontaneous and having enough variety. Ha ha. Idk why. I’m not scared of boredom on other levels. Lol. Also I feel like maybe I have a fear of “commitment” with food. Just more like what if I plan all this with food and then I just hate it and then I’ve also wasted money as well? Many a time I have put off eating anything at all just Bcuz I have such food decision dread. (I won’t like it. Idk what I want to eat. It will be too hard and messy and take too long to make it. It’ll suck Bcuz I’m no great cook. Etc). I think Misfit helps me also Bcuz it’s a limited selection. At the store it’s too much. All that food just makes my head spin. Way too many choices there. I did start ordering from Misfits Market tho. (I have been trying various things to somewhat “meal plan”). It seems to be helping me think more ahead about food for any given week. I know at least for me I can’t be anyone who plans for a whole month. One whole week is daunting enough for me. 😅😅 I will say tho that most days it’s just more or less based on use it or lose it. I just wind up eating what is most likely to go bad sooner or what I feel I bought too much of. I wish I had more specific cravings more often, but I seem to lack that most of the time. I seem to so often lack a good muse when it comes to food. Lol. Sorry so long. I guess I’m just trying to crack my own food code. Get to the bottom of my struggles with it. Lol.
