My lifetime career has been in television, film and the theatre, so what better platform to share my lifetime of experiences with others than KZfaq and my blog, sandrashart.com. I would love to have you come along with me on this exiting pro-aging journey!

As a 27 year old I learned that: 1: Accept yourself for who you are and just be yourself 2: it doesn’t matter what others think of you or not, you are trying best already 3: Let go of the toxic people in your life because it is not worth your time and energy 4: understanding your own feelings and be honest with your feelings 5: Don’t people please because all you are going to get in the end is the feeling of emptiness 6: Be aware of your surroundings 7: your mental health comes first 8: You deserve to be happy and are precious

Don’t spend more than you make. 5) don’t be attached to ANY material thing 6) believe in yourself 7) love yourself

Some advice I wish I had known when I was younger: 1. Get it in writing 2. Learn from the mistakes of those who came before you 3. Do what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do it 4. Let go of people who are toxic 5. Everyone has their own path so you can't save everyone 6. Heal generational trauma and old patterns that have been passed down, intentionally or unintentionally 7. I don't have children, but this is what I would I would tell any young woman: 1. Learn to be independent. You may be alone at times and you need to be able to navigate the world by yourself. 2. Respect yourself and establish healthy boundaries. Respect the boundaries of others. 3. Education beyond High School is important. Find out what your talents, skills and abilities are and cultivate them. 4. Learn about financial matters and don't rely on others to do it for you. It takes one major event to become destitute. 5. Work hard, always ask questions and do the jobs others think are beneath them. 6. Speak up for yourself and toot your own horn. 7. Cultivate some sort of spiritual beliefs that speak to you in those quiet times of need and contemplation. 8. Do not tolerate abuse (in any form) from anyone. If you allow it once, the perpetrator will do it again. That may mean severing ties and walking away. 9. Open your mind and travel the world to understand people, history and cultures. 10. Your way isn't the only way. Don't shove your beliefs down anyone's throat and don't allow them to do it to you. 11. Get a hobby. 12. Take care of your body. Use Sunscreen and don't smoke. Good shoes matter along with a well fitted bra. 13. What others think doesn’t matter. Go about your business. 14. Develop the ability of hindsight to learn from your mistakes. 15. Take responsibility for your actions and be brave to make amends. 16. Date alot before you settle down. Get to know yourself and what you want in a mate. 17. Be kind to humans and animals. 18. Drugs and alcohol don't help anyone.

@@DWN590 I was divorced at 52 after 29 yrs of marriage. I'd been with him since I was 14. I don't believe in giving up quickly, but I do believe you're the only one that knows the correct decision, so I'm not telling you to leave, but wanted to offer support if it's the right time for you. Yes, it was scary, but the past 12 years have been wonderful and I'm so glad I took my life back. I've stayed single and couldn't be happier.

I grew up with a mother and grandmother who allowed themselves to be repressed by men and “social norms”. They also passed on to me the fearful/anxious lives they lived as women who did not believe in themselves as whole people who had a right to their own lives. My mother actually apologized to my father for having me, a girl, as a first child. I loved and resented them for all this. I couldn’t wait to leave my mother’s ultra-negative influence for college and freedom. I have broken away from some of this mindset, but still find it difficult to stand up for myself and am still slow to get rid of toxic people. I made the decision not to live the lives they had. That is, in general, what I learned: don’t stand out, don’t attract attention, don’t speak up. What a waste! I still struggle with this crap. I am 64.

He has much more money than me but he is asking me to marry him without any pre nuptial agreement. He is never been mean or unfair to me and treats me with respect. But i have seen him getting frustrated and angry at people outside. He will use abusive language for the politicians if he thinks they are corrupt and bad for the poor. Sometimes I wonder if he has anger issues

I'm 28 and have a lot to learn in life, but so far some things that I'm noticing is that 1) I won't be everyone's cup of tea so I should just be myself, be kind and not harm others, and the rest is not in my control 2) there is no one right way to live life so don't compare your life with others 3) maintain and cherish your relationships with your close friends 4) enjoy the present day 5) have a goal, without a goal I feel like one fumbles through life. I think ppl can get overwhelmed with endless possibilities, so narrowing it down to a few goals helped me tremendously

I'm barely in my 20s and I never had a real grandma and now, after hearing your words I felt some type of closure, I felt at peace with the fact I chose to be me, even if that meant my family turned against me. it's hard growing up alone, trying to be a good person, an adult when there's no one you can ask for advice.. but now I know that every time I feel lost and need some warm words of advice or encouragement - I can just put your video on. Thank you for making this, you're such a lovely person

I’m 28 but what life has taught me is 1. Be yourself. Not who people want you to be. 2. You don’t owe anyone anything. 3. Watch your thoughts because they become your life 4. Self preservation is sexy 5. Don’t stop being kind because someone doesn’t see it 6. Get to know God as early as possible 7. Be quick to hear and slow to speak. You can’t unsay something.

1. Don’t rush life. Time will do that perfectly well on its own. Enjoy each day as you have it and each stage of life as it comes. 2. Forgive. It’s not always easy but it does wonders for not only the one being forgiven but for your own peace and self. Plus, there may come a time where you will want to be desperately forgiven so why not allow someone that same grace as well. No one is perfect. We are all erroneous. 3. You are beautiful. Sometimes we fail to truly appreciate our beauty in the moment and then in the future we regret that as we look back fondly with kinder eyes. 4. Everything will be okay. We worry too much. 5. Treat yourself like your own guest of honor. Don’t wait to make a special meal or wear something special or use some special cutlery or whatever for others only - give yourself that same royal treatment as well! 6. Have fun. Laughter really is a beautiful medicine. 7. Love will come. Don’t rush it. Focus on yourself and enjoy building yourself.

My 7 pieces of advice; 1. Becareful of the relationships you have. 2. Plan ahead, life flys by one minute you are 18 the next 65. You need to be ready to take care of the older you. Not just financially, but with your health. It's never too early to start. 3. Know better, do better. You know the right thing to do. Don't give into lying to yourself. Or giving into a person who isn't being wise or has your best interest in their heart. That is including yourself. Think ahead, where will this lead me. 4. Think positive, be positive. Nothing is perfect, but try to find the positive. 5. You are important and you are valuable. Do not let anyone lead you around by the nose. Don't be selfish and nasty, but do not let anyone make you a lesser person. 6. Do not depend on someone to be your happiness. No one lives forever, or stays forever. 7. Educate yourself.

Lessons I learned from - my dad. - do not retaliate, what you do or don’t do says more about you than them. ❣️ - my divorce lawyer - always do the RIGHT thing ( not the best thing ) and in the end , the BEST thing will happen ❣️ - my Mom - remember you are just as good as the next person - but always be your best - not to be better than - but better you. - my kids - always say I LOVE YOU - my grandmother - It’s the simple things that matter most. - my deceased MIL- every child deserves love. - LET IT GO ! - HAPPINESS IS A JOURNEY - not a destination- - GO OUTSIDE EVERYDAY - wind , rain, snow or sunshine. - worry doesn’t stop something from happening , it just uses up energy you will need when it does. - look in a full size mirror everyday and if you don’t like what you see - change it, toss it , but don’t ignore it.

my advice: 1) chase your dreams no matter what it takes, 2) grab life from the ponytail and get what you want from it, 3) if you can do it today, don't leave it for tomorrow, 4) if you're with the wrong people it's best to make You your best friend rather than become a wrong one too (ref. to drugs), 5) tell yourself "I'm strong and i'll make it happen", 6) there're some values that have no price tag in them, 7)be in touch with yourself and your feelings, 8) before you judge try to put yourself in someone else's shoes!

I'm 27 and this is what I've learnt so far: 1. Don't chase anyone because if they wanted to, they will. 2. know who you are and stand firm in your identity. 3. set goals for your life; big ones, they help guide you in your decision making. 4. figure out what you love and do them often. 5. never try to impress anyone besides yourself. 6. surround yourself with positive people; people who encourage you to be and do better. 7. always try to listen and pay proper attention to the vibe people give off, they almost always never lie

My advices: 1. Never betray yourself for others and treat yourself like you are your own best friend 2. Listen to your guts feeling, no matter how stupid it sounds 3. Be aware of your thoughts and strengthen those thoughts which strengthen you 4. Be yourself, be proud of who you are, stop caring what others think about you. Shine your unique light proudly on this world. 5. It is okay to change your goals if they dont feel right anymore. Do what is in alignment with you. 6. Fight for yourself and assert your boundaries. You can only be truly kind if you are able to protect your own boundaries. 7. Trust that the universe will bring what you need when its the right time.

Always listen to your gut feelings especially when comes the time to choose a partner. Don't stick to your mistake hoping situations may change for the better. Make decisions to address whatever inflict your liife. The sooner the better. Don't hold grudges against anyone because almost everyone will come to a córner of their life where they reflect back and repent of their wrongdoings. You only hurt yourself by not forgiving them. Don't try to please people, they don't even care, simple do what is right and kind. Be open, listen, observe, compare, pick what's right, and let go the rest. When the road ahead of you is not clear, ask God to lead you in the right direction. He will always guide you if you invite Him. Have faith and always be kind to others.

Some advice I will give to my younger self/grandchildren: 1. Do not follow shiny objects. 2. not everybody is meant to be in your life forever 3. bad times are temporary, good times are forever! 4. stick to a system that gets you closer to your goal, and not focus on the big picture 5. accept the people who have left you/God has taken from you... because better people are coming to fill those empty spaces 6. do what makes YOU happy and not what makes other people happy 7. This is the most critical NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU'VE FALLEN DOWN, ALWAYS COME BACK STRONG AND LEARN FROM YOUR SETBACKS!

Go for what makes you feel happy. Have your boundaries. Prioritise self care. Step outside of your comfort zone regularly. Don't cut yourself off from others, we need people. Don't keep sticking at a job or something if you feel unhappy, try something else or you'll get resentful. Save a bit each month as soon as you start working but be generous too.

Thank you very much. This resonated so much with me. It made me so emotional. The last 2,5 years I suffered 3 miscarriages. If I ever will be blessed with a child, my 7 pieces of advice would be: 1) Family and a few true friends are very valuable. 2) Get to know yourself on a deep personal level, love yourself and your uniqueness. 3) You never know how your life will evolve. Learn from your experiences (good and bad), grow from it, become stronger and wiser. 4) Be open-minded towards other people, other opinions, other ways of life,... It will enrich your life. 5) Make your dreams into goals and try to fulfill them, regardless of what other people say. 6) Find a way to express yourself (music, art, writing, dancing...) 7) Live goes on, good times, bad times: be mild on yourself and always be your own best friend.

I’m only 41 and learning everyday. My daughter asked me to write a letter addressed to her to read at her high school graduation. It’s an assignment from her teacher. She asked me to write any advice I could give her. This video is extremely helpful so thank you. The one thing that I think I will add is this: what you do doesn’t make you who you are. It’s just what you do. So never be afraid to fail or change your mind about your career. It’s not the most important thing about you. It’s your soul that’s the most important thing and it lives on always.

Be kind to others. 5. Remember there are consequences to every action. 6. Don’t trust feelings but listen to your intuition. 7. Honour your mother and father 8. Eat a healthy diet full of vegetables 9. Only seek counsell from people who show success in that area you are wanting advice from. I.e. don’t ask monetary advice from someone who is in debt. 10. Treat all life as precious and worthy.

I am 33 years old and I have a daughter and a son. My advices will be these: 1. Put action into your dreams. I am born and raised in the Philippines; when I was in college, I had dreamed of studying abroad but never had that opportunity. Now that I live in the US, I went back to school and currently studying for an associate degree. 2. Take risks. At 33, I decided I to learn how to drive. Going to a new place is always a risk, but what an accomplishment when I make it back home and when I learn something new. 3. Dress for the day. Being presentable is a form of self care and respect to others, plus it makes you more productive. 4. Have a sense of empathy. We live in such a diverse country. Putting ourselves in someone else’s life will give us a sense of understanding and avoid judgements. 5. Help when you can. Helping others helps me too; it makes me feel good and keep me humble. 6. Be physically and cognitively active. Visit a new place; seek a new adventure in life. 7. Don’t forget your family. Spend quality time with people important to you.

Im a teenager and those are some of the things life taught me . - Live with purpose - Don't be a people pleaser - Surround yourself with people that dont harm you, let go of toxic ones ,even if they are a family member - The only way to heal your grief is to grieve - Open your heart to love, do not be afraid to love to the fullest even if it doesn't last forever, because life is only once - Learn to be in peace with solitude , get to know yourself and build trust in You, because you came alone here and will also go alone - No one is replaceable , when your heart is broken ,do not find comfort in casual relationships, you will hurt other people,+ this is the time you need to spend only with yourself and heal from what its lost - Walk away from gossiping, jealousy, hate ,they serve you nothing - Nothing in this world is free so do not fall into the trap ,theres a reason why pornography is free - Life is random, there are evil people with amazing lifes and good people with miserable lifes , so do not trust that some luck will save you, build your own road to what you want to achieve - Childhood trauma was not our fault, but it is our responsibility to heal it. Also thank you for this video love, your heart is so sweet and you are a very beautiful woman💓

When I was a child my Grandfather said the same, treat others how you wish to be treated. Also, he said What goes around, comes around, you do a bad deed you will be paid back tenfold, those who do you wrong, remember they will get paid back tenfold also, maybe not today, tomorrow or next week, maybe next year but they'll always be paid back. If you do good on every level, you'll lead a good life. I think of his words often, I refer to it as Karma. Also, age is inevitable, don't fight it, embrace it, there may be few more lines & grey hair etc. You'll never be younger than you are today. You learn to let go in time, once it's been successful once, how much better you feel, lighter of heart, then you'll have found the lightness, you'll let go of all those worries, they just fall away. At that point, I felt grown up, I was finally an adult, aged 57!! It's a far more peaceful life if you can forgive & put behind you all those negative memories & be able to just be yourself. I don't care about the wrinkles any more, I'm happy I got this far! Better in mind than I had for over 20yrs ago. I'm now 61 & Nothing can get to me now. Sending love, peace & 🙏 prayers to you all & big hugs to Sandra, the most beautiful woman over 60 on the planet! You exude Beauty & Goodness 🤗🌺💗

I just turned 75, and boy do I have advice for my 17 year old granddaughter. I have always told her to be herself and not allow others dictate what that should be. After listening to you today I would have to add, listen to your intuition. It will lead you to where you need to go. You may make mistakes, but you will learn from them. Even mistakes are important in our lives. As I look back at my life, the times I allowed someone else to influence my choices or make them for me, I regret that decision. I knew it wasn't for ME but for what was best for them. I don't do that anymore, but it does add stress when I follow my instincts. You don't want to live a life of regret. 🙂

I am a very visual person and at 77 I still follow my own advice on making lists such as pros and cons, especially on big decisions. And, on a lighter note, I pass on some advice my mother-in-law told me….”Don’t learn how to do something you don’t want to do for the rest of your life.” 😊 Bless her heart, she married at 15 and had 3 babies by the time she was 19. This was in the 30’s. I don’t think she had much choice with my father-in-law’s job on the railroad keeping him away from home a lot but I took her advice to heart and have passed it on to my granddaughters, as well. It has been a pleasure reading everyone’s ideas!

Beautiful advice from a beautiful woman! I’m 22 years old and this is the advice that I would give my younger self: 1. Stay true to yourself always. Nothing in this life is worth denying your truth. 2. What and who you need will come to you. 3. It is okay to not be liked by all, you will find people that understand and love you beyond what you thought possible. 4. Never ignore what your heart and mind is drawn to, there is a reason why these things always come back. 5. As cheesy as it sounds, you are beautiful as is everyone. The nature of your humanity alone is beautiful and unlikely. Recognise this in yourself and others.

This is spot on Sandra! One thing I used to tell my dance students is you have to decide for yourself what is enough because nothing is ever enough in this society we now live in! You can't seem to be Rich enough, smart enough, thin enough, talented enough, do enough etc.... I told them you will drive yourself crazy trying to live up to all this expectation! You have to decide for yourself what is enough!

I also have spent a large portion of my life comparing and worrying about what other's think of me. It was my current husband who brought it to my attention, but I also knew deep inside it was the biggest thing holding me down. At 62 I'm thankful to be hearing myself say, "I don't care."

Oh Sandra, what a beautiful person you are. I'm 33 and have been very lost for the past 4 or so years. I have my reasons and am starting to see now that we all have periods in our lives like this, when everything gets turned upside down. I'm now looking into fulfilling a childhood dream I haven't been able to let go of. I feel terrified and not good enough, like it's going to take me a long time, but you've helped me remember that I must go after it, because that is what life is all about. It's so scary, to fully be yourself and to be completely honest with yourself, irrespective of what people think. I appreciate your kind presence and words and most of all your gentle wisdom. Your granddaughter is lucky to have you.

I would give this advice: why worry about what others think. Do you really care what others think? It’s your life, don’t live it for others. And also if you’re going to put effort into doing something that you think is worthwhile, give it your best shot, and do the very best you can. Finally take care of your health.

I am 20. If I had children, I would most definitely expain to them the importance of responsibility in life. You are not happy when you run from responsibilities. You are engaged and satisfied with life when you take it volutarily. And being engaged and satisfied, having a meaning in your life, is something that is a lot more precious than chasing happiness.
