To start this video is based on your BMW being compatible with an app called MHD. You can check the compatibility here:

This app allows you to tune your turbo BMW but also offers support to register a new battery with just a click.
The process would be similar for pretty much any BMW from the last 12 years. I specifically am working on my 2008 335i E90 with the N54 engine.
If you ensure that you're replacing your battery with a battery of the same specifications you can save a lot of time. If it's AGM you'd put in an AGM, if it's lead acid you'd put in a lead acid. If it's rated at 80 amp hours you'd put in an 80 amp hour battery etc.
