Amazing! Love the extra pop of color in the crow and the background music with bells!

In the right sunlight a crow’s feathers casts those colors, but not so obviously. Nice work! 12:06 12:06 3👍

Thank you so much! 🥰 Yes, they remind me of wet oil on the ground. I had fun exaggerating those tones in this piece.

This is beautifully demonstrated, thank you so much. Please would you also explain or show how you use your water pot? You seem to dip and dab quite frequently but that is not shown on screen. As I've been learning watercolour for quite some time I have realised that the amount of water on the brush is as crucial as the amount of paint. Your control of water and paint is excellent.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Figuring out the ideal setup can be a challenge. I kept the water jar off screen to give me a little more workspace, but I’ll try to include it in the future. You’re spot on that I rinse my brushes a lot-watercolor is so much about finding that balance of pigment and water in the brush, and I don’t always get it right the first time, lol. It can be helpful to use a little scratch piece of watercolor paper to test out how much water is in your brush before applying it to your actually piece until you feel more comfortable with achieving that balance more consistently. I hope this is helpful! 🤗

You’re so talented! Beautiful painting, and you have so much confidence behind your strokes. If I could make one suggestion that I think would make the video a more pleasant experience for me would be to put your water container just above your project, between the paint and paper so that you’re not reaching across your painting every time you need to clean your brush or dilute your paint.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback. Arranging the workspace to accommodate the camera can be challenging, but I agree not having to reach across the painting to clean the brushes would be better. 😅 I’ll see if I can come up with a better configuration! 😊

Very nice painting. I’m going to disagree with the others though. I think the splodges of colour are too much. For me it doesn’t suggest iridescence.

Thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment! 🥰 I know the splashes of color aren’t to everyone’s taste. I do enjoy their whimsy, though.

@@corriefrankcreates i prefer an artist pushes ideas. having this crow standout by over doing the colour makes it different than the 100,000s other water colour crows. these are one those art "i hate it like that.....oh i love it like that" where we are both right

@@HankHillspimphand Thank you! Yes, color exaggeration and splatter can definitely be a "love it"/"hate it" feature, lol.

Yes, it's a phenomenal brush! The brand is Silver Limited and it's part of the Black Velvet line of watercolor brushes. The one in this video is a size 12 round. They're some of the best brushes I've ever used, although they cost a pretty penny (I got my set as a gift). Here's a paid link to the brand on Amazon if you're interested (as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases, just FYI)-amzn.to/49ThzZS. I hope this is helpful!

The painting is excellent. The vocal presentation...wow. Every sentence going up like a question. You should work on that. It's annoying and also is a subliminal sign you're not sure of what you're saying. Sorry. I had to mute about 3 minutes into it.

Glad you enjoyed the painting! Lol, fair enough about the voiceover-I appreciate the constructive feedback. I'll keep it in mind, although I imagine it would take a while to completely retrain my speaking style. 😅😉
