Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Figuring out the ideal setup can be a challenge. I kept the water jar off screen to give me a little more workspace, but I’ll try to include it in the future. You’re spot on that I rinse my brushes a lot-watercolor is so much about finding that balance of pigment and water in the brush, and I don’t always get it right the first time, lol. It can be helpful to use a little scratch piece of watercolor paper to test out how much water is in your brush before applying it to your actual piece until you feel more comfortable with achieving that balance more consistently. I hope this is helpful! 🤗

My pleasure-thank you for leaving a comment! Aw, I’m so glad you’re trying out watercolors. They’re a lot of fun, but can come with quite a learning curve, so be patient and kind with yourself. Even if that second cherry painting didn’t turn out as well as you would have liked, you’re learning and growing, and that’s something to be proud of! To answer your question, yes, I would recommend more of a “dry brush”-just damp with water, the excess moisture blotted off on a cloth-when blending edges or lifting paint. I hope this helps! I wish you all the best on your watercolor journey. 🤗

Thank you so much! It’s Arches cold press 140 lb. watercolor paper, cut from a large 22” x 30” sheet. It does have quite a bit of texture. My favorite is the 300 lb. cold press paper, but it comes with a high price tag, lol.

Yes, it's a phenomenal brush! The brand is Silver Limited and it's part of the Black Velvet line of watercolor brushes. The one in this video is a size 12 round. @@corriefrankcreates i prefer an artist pushes ideas. having this crow standout by over doing the colour makes it different than the 100,000s other water colour crows. these are one those art "i hate it like that.....oh i love it like that" where we are both right
