"Somewhere in siberia" story have some outstanding facts! That air strip was abandoned many years, and only one man was live there. Only watchman. 12 years he cleaning that strip, cut off trees and check all lights - by a free will. His name is Segrey Sotnikov (Сергей Сотников). In 2012 he was awarded a medal "For services to the Fatherland" (Орден «За заслуги перед Отечеством»). It's very honorable to have these! P.S. Sorry for bad ENG.

Those poor birds just doing what birds do naturally were killed. I guess, they need to put some hawks in the air to patrol the airport to scare off geese.

@@jiafeiqueen Actually "everyone" didn't survive. Jordan is correct that there was one fatality. C.B. Lansing was the flight attendant that died. She was sucked out of the plane during the decompression.

A few years ago, my family, and I were on a flight to Florida. Halfway there, a storm killed the right engine, we made to Florida, but lost the other engine too. We landed with no power, and a great perfect landing. The pilot was awesome.

the Gimli Glider was one of the greatest feats of aviation in history. The only reason they survived was due to the pilot's training as a glider pilot. The only power they had was due to the RAT (ram air turbine) safety feature. What that pilot did was incredible. For years after, test simulations showed that the plane crashed every single time in that scenario.

Thats simply because flying is most dangerous means of mass transportation,thats anyway clear to all people who can calculate miles done and dead people on the ground and in the air... Why people believe in a story that flying is safest when you now from where those claims are coming from and who is paying for those "reports" ! Basic politics ... If you tell a lie and you repeat it again and again it eventually becomes trouth somewhere along the line!

A couple errors I noticed: 1 - The flight for the Hudson River accident was New York-Charlotte, not New York-Seattle 2 - The Aloha Air decompression accident did have a fatality. A flight attendant was ejected from the plane when the roof tore away.

The incident where the British pilot is sucked out the windshield and lives to fly again a few months later never ceases to amaze me. I think I’ve watched every video possible about it at least twice!

I've been in very strong sidewinds whilst approaching the runway at Edinburgh's airport in Scotland. Seeing the wing of the aircraft constantly tilting groundwards whilst over the top of a motorway was frightening af.

I saw on a u-tube clip a youth about age 20 standing on the beach at St Martens where the jumbo jets fly in over the beach. He stood with his back to the pilot and waited. The right wheel hit his shoulder and he went flying. When he got back up, he yelled, “I got hit by an airplane. I got hit by an airplane.” It was what he went there for and it was the highlight of his vacation there.

Tim's plight was a miracle. They had to keep him there (surmised he was dead) so as to prevent his body from being shot into the engines.

There actually was one fatality on the Aloha Airlines flight. A crew member was sucked into a hole and that's what caused the roof to fall off. She unfortunately died and her body was never found.

No!! A series of cracks in the skin got big enough for the skin to fail at altitude. More pressure inside the cabin than outside and the skin ruptured and aerodynamic loads tore the section off. The flight attendant was walking in the aisle when the skin tore away and she was blown out then the cabin decompressed. Also, the roof didn't fall off, it was torn off.

It was 1am on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 I was leaving to go to the airport at 2am to go to Australia (which I had 3 flights to get there) ... I was sitting there watching air crash investigation... i was even watching it whilst I was on my flight on my phone

The Random Jays Fan they don’t crash because they are both directed by highly skilled atc (air traffic control) and their own will. For example, if a pilot saw another plane on his/her designated runway, he/she would go around.

Ready to leave JFK for a short flight to Albany NY there was a burning electrical insulation smell in the cabin. Instead of taking off we taxied down the runway and were parked in a remote location surrounded by fire trucks. The pilot then announced that he had "fixed the problem". That was the longest half hour flight I have ever been on.

About the landing in the Hudson river- the teacher of the pilot that landed the plane is a close friend to my dad. I know him, he is now retired living in Gorna Luka, Bulgaria and he is a pretty nice guy

In 2019 I was flying to Florida to go on the Disney Fantasy (a Disney Cruise Ship). We landed fine but it was POURING SO MUCH OUTSIDE. None of the terminals had room for our flight so we sat there, in the rain, for FIVE extra hours. Eventually the storm cleared up and planes could take off but that was chaotic. Kids were going insane on board. Very loud. At least I got cake though :>

It wasn't even st elmo's fire, it was just volcanic ash from an eruption which also explains why the engines failed and also explains the smell in the cabin.
