Modern self-propelled howitzers have high degree of mobility and are mainly used as combat support weapons. In this video, we’ll show you guys the list of the top 10 most powerful or the most effective self-propelled howitzers and our list is mostly based on factors like firepower, rate of fire, armor shield and ammunition load. Serbian NORA B-52 is the second best artillery system in Serbian industry. The best is MSG-25 Alexander. You should have inserted the care. it would probably be between 3 and 6 seats. Make a Ranking for Multiple Missile Artillery ... Pay attention to Serbian Morava and Tamnava ... two different modular modern launchers! Morava uses the best rocket in the world. Oganj M-77 of caliber 128mm, and also uses Grad 122m and Plamen 128mm !!!

@@milans.637 To nije tačno, naš Orkan je recimo 15% efikasniji od Ruskog Smerča a oko čak 30% efikasniji od američkog ekvivalenta! TOS je sistem van konkurencije jer nema analoga u svetu. Sa druge strane ja sam nabrojao Naše VBR-ove 128mm u klasi sa Ruskim Gradom 122mm i ti sistemi ne mogu da se porede sa sistemima 262mm, 300mm, 400mm... Konkretno naš oganj je u kasi naj bolji po svim parametrima od efikasnosti, dometa, cene, preciznosti... Koliko je precizan Oganj govori činjenica da naša vojska i pored jeftinije izrade Grad sistema zadržala Oganj iako municiju za njega ne možemo dobiti niti kupiti nigde, sem sopstvene proizvodnje!!!

mate i think that 70-80 km are exaggerated numbers ... cause that makes it a rocket launcher not a howitzer ... i wont argue about koalitsia's capabilities but i think that kinda numbers are pretty impossible if the shells dont got rockets that make them accelrate and if they had it that would make koalitsia a rocket launcher not a howitzer like i said...ohh if the howitzer itself was firing from the peak of a giant mountain ... well thats another history tho

The Nora can fire all NATO standard shells and a long range 67km shell is under development and it has MRSI capability. The gun is 155mm 23 or 52caliber but can be changed too 152mm but the ranges on the list are strange . All 155mm 52 caliber can fire the Excalibur guided shell for example .

vann tedd That really depends on what sort of ammunition we‘re talking about, the normal standard ammunition or rather specialized ammunition for longer ranges. The PzH 2000 for example reached a range of 67 kilometers with V-LAP ammunition during firing trials in South Africa in November 2019. Rheinmetall is currently also working on a 155mm L60 gun (the PzH2000 has a L52) with the goal of having a 83 kilometer maximum range.

Archer is now usually considered the most modern and capable SPA; to correct these stats it's capable of firing the Excalibur/Bonus round 60+ km, and ordinary rounds well above 40 km range.

What utter rubbish. There is no best as each country designs their artillery to serve their specific needs, often relating to the terrain of where they would be expecting to fight. A gun that performs well in a certain type of terrain may perform poorly in another. For instance a gun built for a country with a lot of desert would be expected to have good sand filters and one built for a mountainous country would be expected to have a good elevation to get the shells over steep hills. An amphibious vehicle would be better suited to nations like the Netherlands. So there is no best, it all depends on the country and that country's requirements.

every NATO 155mm L/52 gun is capable of firing modern rocket assisted gliding ammunition that is able to reach these ranges. but i am pretty sure, that in this video they are generally talking about ranges achievable with standart ammunition (base bleed + max charge) reliably.

Shell size is a key piece of information that is more important than anything else written there. I tried listening for it and heard "52 calibre" at some point. You use metric value for artillery, or at least inches. Calibre is imperial measurement for small arms.

52 calibre is the barrel length... 155mm L/52 means 52x155mm for barrel length. What you're thinking of is more like a 52 pounder...

@@carstenrenekjrulff6272 155mm is 15.5cm, or like 6.2". This is the diameter of the round. The length of the barrel is several meters and has nothing to do with round size. Artillery is referred to by shell size, and the vehicle is really just the platform for the gun itself. 52 calibre means .52". That would mean that the artillery shell is almost the same diameter as a .50 cal/12.7mm bullet.

@@vovin8132 haven't heard it so the end....I was an artillery man in the royal danish army for 8 years.... Artillery is referred by shell dia. and barrel length...Barrel length is measured in how many times the diameter of the barrel from breach to muzzle (muzzle brake not included) Lets just take as an example the 88mm L/71...you can say that the barrel is 71 caliber's long. So we're both right.

@@carstenrenekjrulff6272 The only people who seem to name guns that way are Europeans. You won't find such classification in American or Russian/Soviet weapon systems like artillery. You will always find either the shell diameter (which denotes the tactical purpose of the shell), the model/codename of the platform, or both. A 2S7 Pion is 203mm, for instance. I have no idea what a caliber is in how you are using it. The only caliber I know is in imperial measurement of inches to two decimal places, and is measured with calipers. For instance, there is .223" (5.56mm) or .308" (7.62mm) or .50 (12.7mm). Doesn't matter if the barrel length is 1' or 100', as the projectile will do the same thing in the end.

@@carstenrenekjrulff6272 So I happened to be watching a German video on WWII heavy tanks and they described the tank's gun as having the length of barrel in its name (or rather, a function of the diameter of shell). So yes, it would seem to be an European thing. I think this has more to do with large scale industrial procurement than tactical use; imagine WWII Germany where you could have a trainload of 88mm artillery guns vs 88mm tank guns lol

if russia would have been able to build a relevant number of these guns. for now it is 12 prototype and test vehicles in total. So yeah..... same as t15, t14 and Kurganets, doomed to play on a shooting range for the next 2-3 decades with regular show offs at the red place and then be scrapped.

G6 Rhino, L 9.2m , W 3.4, H 3.2/ 46 tonnes, road speed 90km/h - off road 70 km/h , Latest version G6-52/ from Denel -South Africa, MRSI 6 rounds G6-52L, range of projectile 30km- 73km, range 700km with 47 rounds / 3 crew 4 rounds /min sustained. No Caesar.. I think theres one coming will have a range of over 1000km. shelling range.......

I find this classification quite weird and misleading. Polish Krab howitzer is much better than many specified howitzers, esp. old post soviet Russian Msta is much worse. Krab has got many modern elements e.g. licence made chassis from Korean K9, improved armoured turret from British AS90, engine MTU. There are modern Polish machine gun, balistic computer, command, communication, management, fire control, infrared detection, optics and smoke grenade systems. These modern elements makes AHS Krab much better than many other howitzers.

I am sorry, Nora B/52 has not better fire range. This depends on used ammunition. Fire rate depends on crew skills and fire needs. Accuracy depends on many factors e.g. range, weather, ammunition, so it is hardly to compare. Nora is wheeled howitzer based on truck which has much worse off road capability. Max road speed is only on good roads, it is hardly to find them somewhere in war time. Nora use hydraulic stabilizers, then needs more time for preparation to open fire. All these things suggest that Nora is worse howitzer even comparing to M-19 A7 Paladin.

No, Krab is not AS90. It derived only improved armored turret. Hull chassis is licenced Korean K-9, engine MTU. Howitzer gun is another licence made. Krab has Polish machine gun, command, communication, management, fire control, infrared detection, optic, and smoke grenade systems.

You have an error with "koalitsiya" the 2s35 version has a maximum range of 40km to 80km and the rate of fire is higher than 11, I don't remember exactly how much.

The koalitsiya has a higher rate of fire than number produced. It's in the T-14 family of "technically very good, in practice stuck in development hell" russian vehicles.
