Absolutely beautiful but not surprising since behind the beautiful design of these hummingbirds is the master designer, God Almighty.

Have always loved hummingbirds, when we in Texas they would come to kitchen, it was their way of letting us know the feeder needed filling. My Mother would get on a stool to do to that and I was amazed that she had several hummingbirds flying around her while she refilled the feeder. I always made the joke that they were telling her, " Hurry up Lady we are hungry !"

I saw and have pictures of a bumblebee hummingbird. It was yellow and black. I thought it was a Queen Bee it was larger than a normal bee. As I blew the photos up, I realized this is a tiny bird. I researched it and found out what it was. I'm a very lucky person, I got to see and spend time with a rare bird. Coolest bird I ever saw. I wasn't an inch long.

They are small, but their intelligence is a wonder.

The eEastern half of the USA only seems to have the ruby/ throated hummingbird while the Western USA has several varieties. I saw so many hummingbirds in South America in large numbers. I wish we could expand the range of these other varieties north to thebUSA and east to our zests Coast! I was at a restaurant in Co that had dozens of hanging feeders and lots of hummers enjoying “ dining” there! What special birds they are!

Trying to find the humming bird that chased me in the back yard. Central California back yard garden next to q huge dry field. But it's entire chest was magenta not just a vest but plumage as well and it was 5 inches. Very very loud buzz. Did I just seen like a striking alpha bird, or was it two different birds got it on mad a sub bird. It chased me cuz I smoked weed and dumped tones of perfume on. Lol I knew it too it tried going in my mouth. It was a moment I almost was like paused starring so hard I didn't care almost let him just from how beautiful he was. It looked like magenta candy paint metal shifting armor. Green and black back. I have not been paused like that in a long time.

No one could quibble with Velvet-purple Coronet, or the Woodnymph, or the Hillstar, but the rest of your list should give way to some far more spectacular hummers, such as Crimson Topaz, Violet-tailed Sylph, Rainbow Starfrontlet, virtually any of the Coquettes, or the amazing Marvelous Spatuletail. Rufous, Costa’s, and the Bee hummingbird aren’t bad looking, but compared to the ones I named, they don’t hold a candle.

So cute! I have some in my neighborhood that will play in the spray from the garden hose. Brave little guys get close to whoever is squirting the hose.

It's mostly Ruby-Throats that make it up to Michigan. If only some of these in the video would start migrating. Also, I was shocked to see how late some of the Canadian birds came through last fall. I was getting hits deep into November. Putting a few feeders out mid-March, just in case. I want to be known on their route.
