Funny farm is great! I definitely watch it from time to time. I actually saw it in theaters back in the day when it came out. I collect movies too and own hundreds of them. I just never got into the whole Blu-ray thing. I get it’s enhanced and maybe some more extras but it never seemed impressive enough to me to pay that extra price for it. Especially now when dvds are so cheap. But i’m old school like that and actually like older movies to look like older movies. It always blew my mind like this is all they could come up with to top the dvd and it’s still a disc. Then I guess they just gave up trying for something better because everyone basically ditched physical media. Except us collectors and older folks.
@80sMadeConsumer

Funny Farm is one that I’d like to see on the big screen. Awesome I love hearing about other collectors. I’d rather watch a movie than anything else, In my teenage years I was an early adopter of DVD all my friends were buying cars, and I was saving for a DVD player been collecting ever since. I agree with you older movies look better on older formats. I did upgrade to Blu-ray and now 4k but I also upgraded TVs so you do get a better picture, there is a bigger quality jump from dvd to 4k. But around 2016 I found a couple of CRT televisions and started collecting VHS again that turned me back onto collecting DVDs again and eventually found CEDs from the 80s. Still looking for some Laser disc and Betamax. I absolutely love old black and white movies on VHS on the old tube tv!

Ghost Dad has been released on Bluray in Germany and has English audio as well as German. Funny Farm has a Danish Bluray release, also with English audio so a possibility that they may get releases in other regions, or if not import via Ebay.

That’s great news I’ve been importing for years and even have a region free player! Some times the art is hit or miss but in my experience the German Blu-ray’s have reversible art which gets rid of the age restriction label that’s on the front of most European releases. Just my luck I’ll get these and we will get a 4k release 😂thanks for letting me know!

I’m going to mention Quiz Show, Robert Redford’s Oscar nominated film from 1994 about the quiz show scandal of the 1950s. This film did receive a Blu-ray but only in Australia but it is now out of print and very expensive. I don’t know if poor sales convinced Disney not to bother releasing it across North America and Europe. Since it was released under the Hollywood Pictures banner, I’m convinced Disney still own the rights to the film. (I would be interested to know if it is available to watch on Disney +.)

What about one of the funniest 80s movies and thus one of the funniest movies of all time, Amazon Women on the Moon. Also one of the greatest teen movies of all time, Pump Up The Volume. Also the greatest concert movie of all time, Tom Waits' Big Time. It's tragic you can't get any of those on stream or BR.

Amazon women on the moon has a Blu-ray Kino Lorber put it out I thinks it’s like 15 bucks on Amazon. Pump up the volume is a good one that needs a BR. I haven’t seen the last one I’ll sure to check it out thank you.

@@80sMadeConsumer Thanks Just ordered the Amazon Women BR. Big Time hasn't had a proper release since it's VHS release. Occasionally it will pop up on Netflix or Prime for a few months but there are no other legitimate ways to get it.

bro I see Stakeout 2 EVERYWHERE for $3, definitely nee the 1st 1 on BluRay. I love Denise Leary in Suicide Kings. It has a German BluRay that just came out but I haven't got it yet. Getting Lucky I just heard of recently & am dying to watch it. Death To Smoochy is SOOO underrated! Revenge Of The Nerds 2 NEEDS a Blu-Ray!! I don't even think it has a stand alone DVD, I think it only comes in a double pack
@80sMadeConsumer
@80sMadeConsumer Ай бұрын
Another Stakeout isn’t as good as the 1st and it has that original Mill Creek release but also a kino version. I may have to suck it up and grab the German release of Suicide Squad. It’s defiantly one that should get some boutique treatment. Getting lucky is everything you’ve come to expect from a Troma film not great but fun. I think you’re right I don’t remember ever seeing a standalone but truly needs a Blu-ray I’d even buy the whole collection box set just to have the 1st two. Death to Smoochy was a day one preorder looking forward to watching it on a large screen.

I got the set a while back for Spies like us. I don’t think I’ve checked out Funny Farm on Blu Ray yet. But I would imagine the picture quality being just ok having the 2 movies on one disc. Also funny farm is in widescreen on Blu ray, it was only in full screen on dvd.
