Your channel inspired me to pull out a handful of old digital cameras I had and prep them to sell. The first day I sold a Sony H300 for $80 plus shipping, so I was happy. Waiting on the rest to come in!

In 1980 I purchased a Contax 139 Quartz with Winder. That camera was a collaboration between Porsche Design and Yashica, the manufacturer of Contax Cameras.

The D7000 with the 18-105 kit lens is a great setup for anyone looking to get into digital. I bought mine back in 2014 and still keep and use it after buying a D850. I love that camera that much. It takes great pictures and has a ton of options and settings. If you see one out there at a good price you can't go wrong.

I love your normal camera unboxing/testing videos, but I really like when you do these sorts of quick-look or mini reviews of cameras. Something I’d love to see more of, is seeing more photos from the cameras so we can see what they can do. Thanks for this unique content!

Cool video, wouldn't mind seeing more! Oh man, I remember those Casio charging cradles haha. I worked for Ritz camera back in 2005-2007 before I started my photography career. Used to sell those Casios quite a bit, I used to like a few of them. Fun times.

great fun as usual watching along 🙂 I remember looking at a Nikon D7000 when I bought my first "proper" DSLR. I went for a D3100 as I wasn't sure I'd even like digital photography!!

I had the FinePix MX-700, an even smaller version of that fuji and only 1.5m pixel. Loves the tiny size, but upgraded to the PDR-m70 for twice the pixels, and the 3x optical zoom. fun, thanks.

Glad to hear! That's cool that you work there! Was I correct that FA porsche was the inventor of the 911 or was that a different Porsche family member?

I love seeing the cameras that you find. I was surprised that you happened upon a Canon Elph 300. Years ago I bought one of them new and still have it. It still works great and I always thought the camera took way better images than you would expect from such a super small camera. Now if it only shot RAW 🙂

The 55-250mm is an excellent lens, but as a supplement to an 15-55mm (or equivalent) not a replacement.

the D7000 was a real work horse for me back in the day - I think I got around 200k exposures out of it

Hi mi friend! I was so curious with your knowledge of shutter counts in mind about how well the d700 fairs! I have my d700 and it just reached the 150,000 rating mark.. well taken care of and was serviced at least a couple of years ago by the original owner I heard people have had it reach 300k :o

Hi! I have shot with the D700 and sold it on many occasions. I think the average life is around 150,000, but like you, I have personally seen a D700 with a 325,000 shutter count that was still working, albeit in pretty rough physical shape. The thing about eventual shutter failures is they just happen...It happened to me recently on my canon EOS M50 II, with only 65,000ish shutter, the mechanism just failed and rendered it basically useless. So in summary, just enjoy it while you can! It could last for another 150k, or it might stop working after 175k, just never know.

The must have been a window in the early 2000s when every company had a "Designed by FA Porsche" product. For instance, I have a Grundig AM/FM/SW radio (likely build by Sangean) that is an FA Porsche design.

The problem is that the battery literally won't hold a charge for more than about 3 minutes even when you have fully charged for a few hours. I've got a new one coming in today, so hopefully that solves the issue!

What was your very first digital camera you bought and used?

My 1st digital camera was an Olympus C-740 3MP Digital camera that was released I think in 2003. Took tons of pictures with that camera!

@pricklypearcamera9151 I had a Canon A520. I wore that thing out. I bought that in 2005 I think used it for 3 years before the lens stopped working.

I don't think its the same Porsche that did the 911, a common misconception. Better watch that "Designed by FA Porsche" stencil carefully as they rub/come off easily. This model also have a rarer lower megapixel twin, the 4800Z with the same Porsche name dropping on the lens cover.

Check US patent "D457,902 S". This is the patent for the 6800Zoom and the inventors are: Ferdinant Alexander Porsche and Christian Schwamkrug.

@@icecreammm2 Looks like I was mistaken. FA Porsche really did the 911 after all. I thought it was the "original" Ferdinand Porsche who did the Tiger and Volkswagen whom I thought also designed the 911

It seems that the truth is somewhere in between. F A Porsche seems to be a design studio founded by a descendant of the founder of Porsche, and it appears that he was indeed the designer behind the 911. He probably didn't design every product of his company though and he died in 2012.

Cameras with additional car manufacturer branding is a bit tacky or has at least been considered as such. ref: the Olympus Ferrari cameras that were almost impossible to sell, but now they are so old that they are cool. I have flipped both the 2003 and 2004 variety.. kinda wish i kept them, but that sweet profit though.
