The Earthship is on a totally next level compared to all the others, because it doesn't require connection to the grid, it recycles waste, including sewage, and produces food, it's a place to live even without money. Economic freedom is the future.

Hello, the folding home is practical for me because no need foundations. And the one dreamy home is the UFO as I love cruising. Unfortunately I live in France and the rules are rigid. So keep on creating for our dreams and for my future kids and grandsons, we never know. Congratulations and bravo thanks for sharing and explaining. Good luck.

Number two and number one are definitely workable. The cost is a shock but understandable. The ten fold is a wonderful feat of engineering. Great for retirement homes... Being on the water is almost everyone's dream come true and under it is even better without getting wet. It brings comfort to those who are wound up tighter than a release spring on an old fashion clock.

#10 made sense as #8. #7 used solar, great. #6 was good for the owner's planning as was #5, #5 was cool looking also. #4 was inexpensive but looked flimsy. #3 is something I've seen else where, great idea. The UFO 2.0, #2, yeah, I'm not a houseboat person... #1 was really impressive, especially the stilts part. Of all of these, the thought of buying a few used trailers from a trucking company sounds good because most of these unit are sold for scrap anyway. Years ago I saw a TV show featuring a guy who built a home by placing a few trailers together and then cutting out walls to make the different rooms. The roof sections and wall were all shot full of insulation and then waterproofed. When the outside was finished, a bulldozer put dirt up to the roof and a small lawnmower was used to spread 8-12" across the roof itself. The interior was cut, drywalled, and painted. Water/plumbing, sewage, and electrical work was installed when the units were joined. It looked like a Shire home for Bilbo Baggins when it was finished but the 3 trailers (the floors, walls, and roof of the home) cost only $7K which made the final cost a fraction of a standard home. Building on a hillside of pasture land would make this "reclaimed" home virtually indestructible by tornadoes. It was a very cool place by the end of the 30 minute show. I'd love to try something like that myself.

the ufo boat is cool, not sure about full time living, but as rental vacation accommodations would be really cool imo, ten fold i thought was among the best either a mobile home or the idea of mobile offices, schooling, etc i think is where is really shines as temporary buildings for disaster areas, the yurts of course is great all round, but not a new thing

Conserving space and the care of our environment starts with us, and these homes are indeed ideal because I for one would definitely consider one of these innovations. One being the “Flexgous” and other cost sufficient seen before this one. If only to be a purchase one by partaking in designing also that would be fun.

One big wave and your up side down ! That would wake you up for sure. also, could you imagine the sound of the waves slapping the side's all day and night ? even on a calm day it would still be load as hell in that bubble. If you have ever slept in a boats cabin, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Id have to say that this is one of the best!! The fact that most the houses cost more then $100,000.00 from a person who lives off Social Security theirs no way of ever getting off the streets from being Homeless. But with some of these Ideals theirs a chance. Thanks for the great Video's. GB

Christopher Campbell I have an idea of buying a 10ft by 10ft cabin for £950,kitting it out myself and make it utterly livable. The pontoon will be built from shipping pallets and oil drums, or plastic shipping barrels. Keep it simple.

one thing most of these homes dont think about is transportation, personaly, i like to have an enclosed garage, some may just need a carport or"bikeport" but i think most need something...love the content btw, i really get excited over tiny home design

The last one can offer that, the folding technology can compact any structure you want for transport and it'll deploy and be ready for use within minutes after arriving. Some others, just depends on the tow vehicle as you'll have to figure what is needed to transport the structure and anything else you want with it but daisy chaining trailers is possible with a big enough tow vehicle to carry multiple things to the destination.

ZeoCyberG I believe ‘stickloaf’ meant most of these structures were devoid of spaces to park and protect our preferred methods of transportation; like our automobiles, bicycles, even boats. I agree, and would like to see a garage, carport, etc. reflected in some of their future structures.

Some very cool home designs here. I like the Yurt best for its affordability and transportability, but I like the idea of living in the UFO houseboat best! Really, if I could afford any home I wanted, I'd want to live in a houseboat!

I liked the Number 1 structure! I'm retired so I think that would be perfect. And it can be moved wherever I want to live. Most of the other structures were all right; but it seems that one is going to need to be financially prepared to live in the future!

Yurts were my favorite. Being part Indian, I guess, prompted e to lean that direction. AND I know they can be made any size. I have seen, somewhere on the net, yurts that have been covered in concrete, for permanent instalations. They still had vaulted ceilings, and big open spaces, which is what drew me to them in the first place. The one I was interested in was 120 FT across with a 18ft ceiling, if you wanted to put a balcony 2ND floor in it. Built more like a conventional house, but with inexpensive cost effective materials. Had solar panels on the roof (even though the house was round) and buy design very energy efficient. Anyway, you have a great channel, good stuff! Thanks for the post!
