History. A topic we've all learned about in school. The Assassin's Creed series is full of history. Whether that be historical locations, historical figures and even historical events. What I want to do in this video is go over my top 10 favorite historical events in assassin’s creed.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin-Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

Heads-up. Ubisoft has resorted to their greedy ways and have copyrighted parts of this video because of the AC Soundtrack. So i'm sorry for the muted segments. I can't do anything :C Here's the script for this video to see what I say for the muted segments: docs.google.com/document/d/1XF02OK4DxFfDp-iSUZiaashIKSf1ro7NVNE5fhU7rAI/edit?usp=sharing

Marquis de Sade, who was a real person, was also locked up in the Bastille. He's the naked guy shouting "they're killing us in here!" He even mentions it when you meet him later in the game.

@@JohnMarston-hf8exIn many countries around the world universal history is taught, which basically reviews the most important events from each country, like the french revolution in France, dictatorships like Franquismo in Spain or Pinochet in Chile. The Maldives War in Argentina, the Arab Spring, the independence of the US, to mention a few relevant ones. It's important to know the historical events that moldes the world as we know it today. Something Americans don't seem to understand as they only study their own history, and sometimes not even that.

AC3 made me interested in the American revolution. Especially the Battle at Breeds Hill (Pitcairn) feels like the MC is part of something really big. Also, Rogues Lisbon earthquake is such a memorable moment.

I appreciate that they allude to real world events and locations that are not immediately obvious. Theres the remnants of a town in North Carolina that the story told is that it was bombed by the british during the revolution but the other possibility is that it was Blackbeard's haven. I loved that the game took me to the coast of the Carolinas and sail up the cape fear river without calling out specifically thats where we were.

For the bastille there is one detail I'd like to had it being why this specific place was seen as a symbol of monarchy, the reason is you were sent there by "lettre de cachet" meaning the king himself would decide that you were to be sent in jail no trial nothing , this little fact changes nothing to the story but adds a bit of detail which is always good

Love your videos but I would like to add something to the Jack the Ripper thing. I always loved the victorian London, so I also researched a lot about Jack the Ripper. Actually till today nobody can say who Jack the Ripper was. Back in 1980 there was also Films about him, where they say it was the Queen's Doctor Sir William Gull. At the end you can say nobody knows who Jack the Ripper was an we will probably never know. (Sorry for my Englisch)

probably american- I never heard of Boston massacre until I played this mission. And freinds of my parents were visiting their son, a childhood freidn of mine, in Boston during his PhD. And my mother showed me some tourism pictures and I was like "I know this building, don´t know it´s name, but in front of this there was the Boston Massacre during the Independece" I´m from Germany. maybe in Codename Hex comes something I know from history class. Salem witch trials is around 50 Years after the Thirty Years War

What about any events from AC Mirage, during the Islamic Golden Age? I an sure there is at least one event or two you forgot from it.
