But I think he was bored with the domination and the media criticism and he went in not respecting Chris and not expecting him to stand and trade punches and just got caught with a punch he didn’t think was coming .

I definitely think that though UFC 1 wasn't fixed, it was somewhat cherry-picked and if I remember some of the Gracies pretty much said the same thing. So yeah, I think it was them putting in a couple real threats but also a lot of guys that they knew they could win against.
