As a Dancer main I fully agree with everything.

The story for Dancer really is the most visually appealing. Learning about them really doing heroic things as fighters undercover was unexpected.

5:40 I think the problem is how XIV deals with Dashes. Your hotbox stays at the original spot until the animation is finished.

THANK YOU for spotlighting my favourite job to play! I started out as Archer/Bard, picked up Dancer once I was able. I struggled with it at first, but grew to adore it as I settled in. Even got a real life tattoo featuring the Dancer job stone, a blue Elpis flower, and the Azem stone.

dancer is so much fun to play and the fits look so good. partner with a reaper or samurai and can clear ads or bosses super quick with the buffs

I remember when Dancer became one of the reasons I bought FFXIV. I remember seeing one when I did duties (I was on trial account back then) and thought they were the prettiest class in the game. So when the sale came out I took the chance to buy the game. And Dancer became one of the first jobs I maxed ~

Dancer was my first Ranged Physical DPS, and damn did I not expect to fall in love with it as hard as I did, super fluent and incredibly flashy and incredibly mobile. Absolutely worth playing.

I took up dancer the first time I saw the glamour in the pvp vendors. I hadn't unlocked it and I fell in love with the outfit. I had to get it. It was then my 2nd job to 90. (I have 4 now, Dragoon and Archanist is 2 in 1.)

100% on all of this. At first it was confusing until I reorganized my bars. Then leveled it just to do rDPS quests and it was my highest one, so figured less work. Now it is my main and I lovelovelove it. Plus I enjoy the group utility and helping to boost others while being flashy in the background. ...and its fun to spam dances for no reason when bored as if playing DDR.

That's a very cool hotbar idea. Having a button to change your main buttons to become AOE seems really cool

Love the vid, and I'm probably gonna start playing Dancer a bit now because of it. Just a quick question though, I noticed that one of your points for why you should play Dancer is that the AOEs are really nice, but the clip you use during this point is the only clip in the whole video where your AOE skills are on your hotbar. In most of your clips in this video you seem to have Cascade and Fountain in your 1 and 2 slots on your keyboard, but in that clip focusing on the AOEs you seem to have Windmill and Bladeshower equipped in those hotbar slots. Is there any reason for why this is? I ask because I liked the layout of your hotbar and wanted to try it out, but I can't decide where to put my AOE skills since they occupy the same slots as your single target skills in the video.

DNC does feel like DDR, I tried my hands to sub semi casually but that opener is an absolute banger to experience For the next video I’d love to hear your thoughts on the maybe best storyline of all job quests, the broodiest hp managementiest job, the DRK

I did the same thing, I leveled up all of my jobs to 90 and can't wait for the last step of the new relic weapons. If you haven't done it yet I would recommend Warrior.

Not sure if im correct or not, but in my Experience, the "Dash" on the Dancer does not 'update' your position until after the animation finishes, which is why you'd get 'clipped' by AOE markers you see yourself dashing out of. If the AOE marker vanishes while the 'dash' is still mid-use, you'll get clipped by it, but if you 'finnish' the dash before the AOE marker dissaperes, your safe.

My dancer is on 90, but I haven't touched the job in the while. This has actually motivated me to pick it up again, bc it IS super fun and pretty :D so thanks!

As a DNC Main, perfection. Love this class so much!!! Also DNC needs their healing potency to go up AND I am a hardcore believer in DNC needing a Raise like SMN! And its amazing how the DNC job questline leads into Endwalker so well. When they were talking about Dynamis and everything I remember just being like "Wait oh my gosh its like the thing!!!"

On playing cross-atlantic you are not alone Avy, I'm in Utah but I play on Lich, AKA one of the european servers. My FC is what got me into FFXIV in the first place and they're all Pretty much entirely in europe. Edit: would Love to see you cover Black Mage AKA the Megumin of Final Fantasy

I can vouch with how much dancer helps me with latency issue and low fps I was honestly very reluctant to learn dnc at first coz it started at lvl 60 with so many skills, but then once I picked it up it's actually really fun and easy, plus the dash saved me so many times coz I had less than 10 fps (very old laptop) and latency issue from playing in EU and NA server despite coming from SEA which made my walk speed slower than everyone else :') Now that I have a new laptop, it fixed my fps issue and dancer is so soooo much comfortable than it already does

If you didn't feel some romantic or (more likely) sexual tension between her and the WoL during Rising to the Occasion, I must ask if you skipped the cutscene or something. As for next "10 Reasons To Play X" video...hm. I'd say let's swap off DPS for a minute and say 10 Reasons to Play Paladin.

the dash (en avant) is incredible, you can actually use it to save yourself from knockback effects that would push you off the edge! I can't even count the number of times it's saved my ass!

When my friends got me into the game they gave me the basic rundown of the general classes, I picked Archer because buffs were my favorite parts of another game. They then proceeded to tell me what dancer was and that I could get it at 60, I have been maining it ever since! I will miss it during Dawntrail since everyone is going to be queuing as the new dps classes (will whm/ast my way through) but DNC is forever my favorite

Dancer is the one job I did not think I'd enjoy as much as I do. Main is WM but dancer is absolutely close to my heart!

I'm not that good at dancer. I tend to get too caught up and forget to use all my procs. That being said i love having a dancer in a raid, specially as a caster. Thanks to all the dancers who adjust when i have to heal/raise and can't move. Great work on this one

I am a RDM main, but when it comes to reclears of raids Dancer is my go-to. It's just so much fun to play! Also, you are 100% right about the dancer story, one of the best in the game.

I'm leveling every job, and I can honestly say that Dancer is probably the most fun job! I LOVE IT!

Also for PVP I love this job. Dash away or towards your enemies then smack them with high damage. Buff or heal your dance partner. Dash in and make your enemies become entranced for your party to gank. then finish them off with spinny circle saw blades. say that three times fast lol.

Mastering DNC feels so good too when you can weave in all your skills perfectly its so satisfying

The only thing that makes me sad about Dancer is that someone after all this time we STILL DON'T HAVE FAN WEAPONS T_T I just want a few weapons that look like fans, they would fit so perfectly.

Coming from Bard main the Dancer is a lot more laid back for playstyle and direct support, absolutely love it

I mained Dancer from the moment it came out till Reaper came out and I wanted to try that. Its definitely one of my favorite classes if not THE favorite class. Its very ADHD and dyslexia friendly, just follow the rng procs, always have your devilment and stances on cool down, follow the rest of the ranged/mdps to dodge enemy attacks. The only thing you really need to "learn" is meta knowledge, being the dance partner teir list.

I like Dancer because chakrams were my favorite weapons in Reckoning, Kingdom of Amalur.

I beat all of MSQ as Monk and the second job I got to 90 was DNC. 😊

I’ve been a dancer main for a while for most of these reasons. Reason #11: Swishy!!! I love the swishiness of the job. But apparently I’m not a good dnc main. I didn’t use aoes until I was level 88. And I didn’t know that final animation was an aoe. I just thought it was pretty. I switched to machinist for the damage increase but I really love my dancer. Now that viper is coming out, I might be a viper main. We’ll see

I'm a Dancer Main and I second everything you say in this video (except the aoe thing cuz I always feel like the aoe damage of dancer sucks but maybe it just my imposter syndrom hitten so idk)

I typically did a expansion job for each exp mnk for arr mch for hw rdm for sb dnc for shb I tried rpr for ew but never clicked with so consider dnc my main even though I'll play the new dps for dt dnc most likely stay my main

1. Dancer's dps scales by the amount of skin showing for female characters and by stylishness for male one. (worst DNCs I've ever had displeasure playing alongside were clothed females and skimpy males. 2. Dancer's RNG rotation makes me feel alive rather than falling asleep 8 mins into the fight from purely static rotation. DNC rng is just enough to not make it cookie cutter consistent and set in stone, hell that's same thing with something like mnk or gnb, where optimal way to play can be setout gcd to gcd 20 mins in advance. 3. Aesthetics and class gear, only for females. Idk, but male versions of dancer sets makes them look nowhere near as good as female counterpart. 4. Chakrams when weapon's model is symmetrical is pure joy to look at Eden's Promise and Cryptlurker's are extremely nice exceptions to this rule. 5. People love you for making their personal numbers bigger and is a good way to farm Comms even as a dps. 6. Virtual combat handjob for your special one. 7. Best ERP potency only second to WHM. 8. You can dance string with "Steps" in cities and perfect various Step animations with regular emotes to string some mind blowing dancing. 9. Bungirl dancers can step on me and crush my head between their silky smooth skin thunder thighs any time. 10. Bungirl dancers makes me question my sexuality, but in a good way, because damn they make me weak to their charms.

I was tempted to try dancer when I got a neat hat in a dungeon that Dancer was one of the only classes that could use it, wanted to build a glam around it... then I unlocked Dancer and the ability bar did indeed frighten me... but with this and learning that it is more simple then it appears... Might actually give it a go... and finally get that Glam done xD

I think the only jobs I haven't tried are the arcanist and black mage, but out of all of the jobs, Dancer is my absolute favorite!

In the Mobility department, those bosses where coms are like 'look away'! 'look away'! Dancer, just look away for the whole boss fight. It's fine.

As a Monk main, I always like Dancers in any party, and will ALWAYS give a Comm at the to those that dance partner with me, (hey I like when I do those big DPS numbers.). 😉

One of my top 5 over all of my characters. Not my #1 fosho. But definitely top 5. I'd also consider DNC to be the easiest job to play (for me anyway.) And for any new-ish players the fact that it comes with half a set of level 255 gear can only help.

Honestly if someone complained about DNC doing less damage it'd be like the whole Xeno with WAR thing, he couldn't cope that WAR did 2% less damage than DRK, but now WAR is op. DRK love having DNCs or BRDs, not so much with MCH they need the party buffs!

I only ever dipped my toes into dancer, but I really liked the job quest storyline.

I put away my 90 Lala WHM to play a Miqo'te dancer and I am in *love* with this job. Sexy catboy glams? Check. Using the same weapons as my childhood hero Xena, Warrior Princess? Check. Dancing my way around an entire arena during dungeons and trials with all the gorgeous animations? Check and check. There literally isn't anything I don't love about it. (Also calling DDR an old school dance game 😭 I just felt my hair turn gray and my bones creak... 😥👴)
