I feel like I need to stand up for Colton based on these accusations and some of the comments. I don't know him real well, but I have spoken to him on several occasions. He came to my church for a while and most people didn't even know who he was. In fact, it was months before my son said there was a "Colton Burpo" helping at his youth group. Even then, we didn't know if he was the same Colton. It wasn`t until I was trying to find my kids and Colton noticed me. He asked me if he could help me with anything. At that moment, I asked him if he was the same Colton they made the movie about, and he humbly said "yes" like it was no big deal. I can assure you from the interaction we have had with Colton over the next several months, he is not out to deceive people, or make money. He is as normal as normal can be. To this day, many people at our church are not even aware he was ever there. He is a true man of God and he did not make up his experience!

Exactly! I decided after comment reading to not even watch this video all the way through, because I can already tell the arguments he's trying to pose. I've never met Colton, unfortunately, but his story quite literally was the starting point of my faith and testimony. Anytime I share it, it always starts with "Well about 6 years ago, I watched this movie called "Heaven is For Real", and I've watched several interviews and podcasts on the matter. Colton even did a podcast recently where he talked in depth about what he saw. And his attitude about it, his humbleness, the fruits of his spirit, and the fact nothing he has said has contradicted Scripture tells me its legit. I'm glad you were able to come to that conclusion to, and I wish you the best!

Colton claims many things that aren't in the bible. I was also just watching 2 different interviews that Colton did, I cant remember the exact dates but in one of them the woman asked do you remember your experience in heaven? he said it's still very vivid! then 3 weeks later I believe he did another interview, the man asked him the same question, this time Colton said it's hard to remember sometimes, and would you remember something that happened when you were 4? the 2 interviews were only 3 weeks apart

@@zoecoutu1741 I believe he did have an enlightened experience but I'm wondering how much was added on by his father. Or how much was pushed by his father. The kid had a nde and talked about it to whoever mom or dad or both, then as he got older he started to forget bits and pieces of it. That's probably when his dad jumped in and was like....well you said it was this way. Don't you remember.....or it was this. I don't know I could be wrong.

Hank and others who criticize Colton's statements is not saying he has bad intentions. I've written a lot on his experience as I have seen several of his interviews. I have shown that he contradicts himself so so many times. I am not sure what caused his visions but he was only 3 years old. The time issue is one of my biggest criticisms of the experience and I can discuss it here if you like.

Normal children can be manipulated by their parents without even knowing it. No one doubts his normalcy. In fact, It's normal for someone who almost dies to see crazy things. Hospice nurses can tell you that. It's normal for children to lie. It's normal for parents to brainwash their children. Is normal to simply misunderstand the Bible an incorrectly teach it to your child on accident. All things are possible but not all things are profitable, according to Scripture. The normal state of a human is sin, and the normal state of a human is dangerous, and the normal state of a human produces death not life, not truth. Dear Colton It's probably a very precious child. And, like all of us, needs to be subject to the Bible instead of what goes on in his head/heart. The Bible says that is wicked. We are all wretched sinners, even the adorable, sweet Colton. And It's healthy to realize that. Because it's unhealthy to go without seeking the cure to our normalcy - which is Jesus and Jesus alone. I pray God's will over Colton and all who he has touched, including yourself.

Another awesome part to Colton Burpo’s testimony is how after he miraculously recovered from his illness, he went back to the hospital’s cancer ward. He went with the approval of his dad of course, and comforted children stricken with cancer. Colton told them about God’s Love and there’s nothing in Heaven that will hurt them. You can always tell when someone is filled with the Holy Spirit. They have the ability to *reach out in unorthodox ways* and effectively minister to others that are desperate and in need of hope. Mark 10:13-15 *Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.*

So you believe Colton over the Word of God? Because the Word of God says that No one has seen heaven and returned. So if we read that, and then see Coltons story, we as believers see that Colton's story fails the test and that is that. There is a story here on KZfaq that a Woman had an NDE and talked to Jesus, and Jesus introduced her to a Hindu God. You believe her as well?

Mr. Hanegraaff, Appreciate your biblical scholarship/strong voice for truth. Sincere questions: 1)How do we explain that Don Piper came back to life after a documented death of 90 min., (no heart or brain function), and survived with no observable brain damage. 2)Do you dispute the police record? 3)Piper refrained from publicly discussing his experience for several years; very reluctant; apparently uninterested to exploit for personal gain. Thoughts? 4)How did Colton Burpo give an accurate account of where each of his parents were, and what they were doing when he left his body? How could he have known this information without seeing it? How would he have seen it? 5)When he told of seeing his sister in heaven to his mother, mom’s first reaction was anger. Odd reaction imo, unless it’s true she had not dealt with the pain and pushed it away. Lends credence to their account they never discussed it. If he’d not known about his mom’s miscarriage, (at three years of age also seems unlikely they would’ve told him), how did he know about his sister? 6)Colton was 3 when he had his medical emergency, and alleged out of body experience. Might that account for some of his inarticulate language as he describes what he saw? His vocabulary would have been quite limited. Thanks and hope to hear back!

Test everything as Paul says. I take everything as a grain of salt. I didn't have a nde but I have been 'caught up' to see the glory of God. As a Christian I expect stuff like this to happen since we are spiritually inclined with the Lord. A lot of us do have itching ears so we must as children of God be very careful and pray for discernment.

What I don't understand is why Paul said he saw things that were "unlawful to speak of", but these people are free to blab about them? Here's the fact: if you cannot believe on the basis of the word of God, but instead require some little kid to give credence to it, then what you have is not faith. You have something... but it isn't faith. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is much more than "there's a Heaven waiting for me."

No, creationists assert the universe is designed, not scientists. There is no evidence that someone created the universe hence no evidence of design. We do know the process in which stars and planets form, which does not require a designer, so as of yet there is no reason to believe there is a design to the universe.

TheDrune “ The religious faith of the scientist is violated by the discovery that the world had a beginning under conditions in which the known laws of physics are not valid, and as a product of forces we cannot discover. When that happens, the scientist has lost control… If he really examined the implications, he would be traumatized...Now we see how the astronomical evidence supports the biblical view of the origin of the world." - Robert Jastrow, Chief of the Theoretical Division at NASA. “The best data we have [concerning the Big Bang] are exactly what I would have predicted, had I nothing to go on but the five books of Moses, the Psalms, the Bible as a whole.” -Dr. Arno Penzias, Nobel Prize - Astrophysics Aside from the assistance from an unknown agent outside our universe, the appearance of life requires “statistically miraculous events” and is incomprehensibly unlikely. It is not as though one threw a deck of cards into the air and they fell onto the floor into the only arrangement that would make life possible. It is more as though one threw a deck of cards into the air and they landed as a tidy and perfectly balanced house of cards. Disturbing Implications of a Cosmological Constant - Stanford University and MIT Physicists: Dyson, Kleban, Susskind And without the hypothesis of multiple universes, the observation that if life hadn't come into existence we wouldn't be here has no significance. One doesn't show that something doesn't require explanation by pointing out that it is a condition of one's existence. If I ask for an explanation of the fact that the air pressure in the transcontinental jet is close to that at sea level, it is no answer to point out that if it weren't, I'd be dead.” ― Thomas Nagel, Mind and Cosmos: Why the Materialist Neo-Darwinian Conception of Nature is Almost Certainly False

Yes yes a whole bunch of people saying things without any evidence or proof to make what they say valid. These are people who have already decided they support a biblical world view, and then work toward that end, which is not the scientific method. The proper way is to say, I do not know, let's fine out, not to say, I believe it is this, lets look for evidence that supports this.

@God is faithful and a Father, In fact, it is you that does not know that which you speak of and in fact have a very overly simplistic viewpoint. No one is innocent. We are all born into the sin we inherited from Adam. If you have children, then you know that they have to be taught good behavior and obedience... but no one has to teach them to behave badly and disobey. They do that quite well on their own. However, I do agree that God has a special grace towards young children who have not yet reached an "age of accountability" (as it is commonly referred to), or anyone without sufficient capacity to understand the concept of violation and the need for forgiveness, and as such does not hold them accountable for their sin until they are able to understand. I strongly suggest that you do a bit of reflection yourself and ask God for the wisdom you so readily accuse others of lacking. He promises to give it to you.

Regarding the point that "Heaven is for Real" said that the battle of Armageddon was going to happen in the lifetime of Colton's father, that's reading into the book. He didn't use the word Armageddon, nor did he say it would happen while his father was alive. What he said was that during his NDE he saw his father participating in a coming battle between the good guys and the bad guys. This could easily be a vision of something that will happen after his father dies with his father participating in a spiritual battle of some kind, and this battle may not be an end-times event. Also, about 9:15 the video says Colton Burpo claimed received information that superseded than the Bible.I can't even imagine how this conclusion was reached. I've read Colton's book several times. He never said anything like that. This must be another inference and it's both a huge stretch and a serious accusation. I tried finding more information about Don Piper's alleged claim that Jesus will return in his lifetime. So far I don't see any other sources that say he made this claim. If you know where he said that I would appreciate it.

@@bairfreedom I agree with Chrissy it is obvious that you are not a true believer and there are things that are not mentioned in the Bible because God didn’t want to include things that would distract from His message but you are causing people to lose their faith when in this day and age it is needed most by questioning others when you should be questioning your own stand with God. Films such as Heaven Is For Real can and does bring people to a living relationship with Jesus Christ. I spent 10 years in prison and on Wednesday night we had seen this movie and I can tell you that there were a lot of hard core unbelievers who accepted Christ as Lord and Savior after watching this film so you have absolutely no right to judge what God can use!!!

It’s really sad that he labels this young boy (toddler’s) experience as dangerous. There is so much more that Jesus did and experienced as the Bible says in John 21:25, “Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” Ive had many divine experiences and wrote 2 books about them. It takes a lot of courage to step out and speak about them. I am a Christian and unfortunately, the most flack I received came from other Christians. Even when the experiences line up with Bible scripture, many Christians still refused to believe these experiences are real and true. Stand strong in your faith and “search a matter out.”

I tend to agree with Brian .. Hank complains about the Heaven is For Real book .. and asks if it trumps Gods book, the bible, then brings out his book ?? Really ? Does your book trump Gods Word ? ? Not defending either .. but seems odd .. did your book sales drop because of the Heaven is For Real book ???? is that the hidden motive here ?? I for one .. feel .. in my heart and spirit .. that there are things in the Bible that are not told to us .. and for reasons known only to our Father .. As with any good parent .. somethings we just dont tell our children certain things until the time is right .. And I think in some cases that time wont be until we go home to our Heavenly Father. One immediate example that comes to mind is the age of accountability .. no specific age is listed .. and for good reason .. Time is finite to us and infinite to God .. The robber on the cross was told he would be in Heaven on that day .. Jesus healed on the Sabbath .. Ressurected Lazarus from the dead .. with all this in mind God could certainly give a child ... one that is SO PRECIOUS to Him a glimpse of heaven if He wishes .. In the Bible is says.. Now there are these three things, Faith, Hope, and Love, the greatest of these is Love .. Makes sense too .. because once we go home .. Our faith is confirmed and hope is satisfied and the remaining one is indeed the greatest of all, Love .. Gods great, unconditional love .. I have watched several interviews with lie / deceit detection type skills of both Akiane and Colton .. and their parents .. I really dont see any signs of them lieing .. Does that mean they really saw Heaven .. ?? I believe they at least believe and are being truthful about what they did see .. In the end God will be the only Judge of this whole thing .. we do not sit in the judgement seat, lest we be judged. God uses all things for the good .. this would be no exception I'm sure .. Anyways.. thats my view ..

I agree with most of what was presented here. It was rather repetitive and a bit shameless to see how many times you "plugged in" your book. Mentioning it once or twice is one thing, but you seem to really want to sell that thing. It was ironic to me that you would suggest (while not making an official 'judgement') that some of the authors of NDE books have fabricated or exaggerated stories for the sake of profit. Then you go on to again make another sales pitch about your book. Having said that, I do agree with you about the Bible being the final authority, and I'm glad you encouraged people to find answers there. There is one point left out of your "10 Reasons Why Heaven Is For Real is Dangerous", that I think is most important. Just because Heaven is real, does not mean everyone will go there. The ONLY way to the Father is through the Son. Believing in Jesus Christ is our only hope. Any book or movie that describes Heaven, no matter how accurate, but leaves out the only true way people can get there, is the true dangerous diversion. It gives people a false hope of a place that exists in the afterlife, without the explanation of Jesus Christ as Savior. That's scary to me.

No one talks about Revelation 1:14-15 His head and hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire. And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and his voice as the sound of many waters. This is the Word of God, and who is to be believed? God's Word or visions of the adversary who transforms himself into an angel of light, so that he is worshipped instead of God.

Stop listening then. If you had any idea what the revelations book of the bible is about is the coming of events leading to the day when people are to be judged and permitted into heaven or hell. Claiming you've seen either makes you a liar, as it would go against the word of god. The dead remain dead until god makes them dead no longer (with the exception of his chosen few). Taryntheterrible101 It's the story of what happens to the end of Babylon... Revelation begins with a series of letters from the risen Jesus to seven churches.. The first verse indicates that the events described in symbols will “soon” take place, that is, in the time of the original readers. In v. 3 John says “the time is near.” As for 'EVERYTHING that must occur'.. Rev. 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must "shortly come to pass"; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Rev. 14:8 - And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. .. Rev. 18:8 Therefore shall her (Babylon's) plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. .. Babylon was papal Rome and her allies.

Wars are more common now, terrible tragedies like hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes are occuring on a by-monthly basis. No government trust each other, and noone trusts their government. If thats not what Revelations predicted, then what DID it predict?

If just One person in the whole world, comes to saving faith in Christ Jesus, then this boy's testimony is worth all the accusations those of this world throw at him. Nobody alive on earth today has the right to judge anybody's testimony. Many true Christians in the Holy Spirit has seen and experienced things that may or may not agree with your personal view of doctrine, including myself, so unless you have seen, felt, heard, smelled, touched, and tasted it for yourself, you have no right to judge. And even then, what many real experiencer's reveal can contradict others, as God reveals things to us in ways that are meant for us as individuals, as we all have different understandings, and many different needs.

Hank: I agree with you that the Bible is the final authority on what God wants all of us to know and believe. You mention "test" things in light of what the Bible says. I agree. The Bible clearly talks about receiving Him with child-like faith, not Adult like faith. Colton describes his experience as a true child, not as an adult. His father, Todd, simply puts to paper what Colton has described to him. If Colton had said that Jesus would come back on a specific day, year, and time (that would have been a "dangerous diversion") I would agree that that is 100% contrary to God's word in the Bible where it states no one knows the hour or day. However, that is not what Colton says. Colton simply states that according to his experience, he feels that the second coming of Christ will happen sometime this century. Maybe Colton is right, maybe not. The statement is not a diversion. Also, I don't recall ever reading in the book or seeing in the movie where Colton says he actually saw God the Father. If in fact Colton had made the statement, it would give me pause as well because the Bible says that no man has seen God the Father. Hank, no disrespect intended, but you are an adult. You may be a true Christian, but you have an agenda...you also have a book. Colton was a child as he gave an account of his experiences. Colton had no agenda, rather child-like faith as described in the Bible. Your ten reasons are simply what you believe...not what the millions are people believe that were inspired by Colton's experience. GET OVER YOURSELF!

I will make my own 5 points here. 1. You spent a little over 18 minutes, in the beginning, discussing a book that was not about the movie or testimony of “Heaven is for real”. To me this is using unrelated sources concerning Heaven is for real. So, you are comparing apples and oranges. You constantly quote sources of other faith and religions (which you do not believe either) bypassing your thesis of why “Heaven for real” is dangerous. Works cited from different religious experiences to go after Burpo’s experience. This to say the least is unscholarly since it is the Christian faith you adhere to. This also pulls viewers away from your topic. This is something liberals do and are quite good at. 2. Once again using others instead of scripture to build a straw man that makes no sense seeing you said the bible is all we need to prove or refute something. At this point 22:00 minutes in your dissertation, none of Burpo’s testimony is contrasted with any scripture, not even one verse. I find this an abandonment of your stated foundation (The Bible). Also, still quoting Alexander from his book and not Colton Burpo’s. Perhaps, this video should have been about Alexander, not Burpo. Just saying. 3. At 30:46 minutes you announce you have a book for sale. How will you explain yourself if is successful and a “mega” seller bringing in millions? 4. At 32:55 you say there can be no new revelations after the apostles died. This is in direct contradiction to Joel 2:28 which reads “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions”. You also use mainstream psychology terminology to refute possible revelations as fantasy. Do you not know those same sources of that supposedly mainstream of knowledge overwhelmingly say there is no God? 5. In your closing, you basically say “buy my book” about “Afterlife”. You would do better to encourage the purchase of Bibles instead since you say all the answers are there. In my closing I will say this, I was acquainted with the late original bible answer man Dr. Walter Martin and his book “The Kingdom of the Cults” as well as having the privilege of meeting him at one of his symposiums. You sir are no bible answer man. I could also quote many scriptures from the bible that indeed points to the possibility of Colton Burpo’s testimony being true (the difference would be in the vocabulary of a child). However, this is your video and not mine.

When Mr. Hank Hanegraaff says “the Bible” is the “word of God”, (34:12) he’s contradicting his own statement, “With the death of the Apostles there can be no new revelations”. “The Bible" was not around until well after the death of the Apostles. What’s even worse about this statement is this; the scriptures teach us that “Jesus Christ” is the “Word of God” authoritatively. The scriptures do not teach “the Bible” is the “word of God” making it a commandment of men taught as a commandment of God. The Bible is scripture, the scriptures teach us “Jesus Christ” is the “Word of God”. Again, saying “the Bible” is the “word of God” is a new revelation and a commandment of men taught as a commandment of God. Even though this statement rolls off the tongue of most Christian leaders today like Mr. Hank Hanegraaff it is scriptural fallacy. It is scriptural fallacy as oppose to the more scriptural authoritative teaching that “Jesus Christ” is the “Word of God” John 1:1, Revelation 19:13

I just wanted to add in my thoughts on this; granted, I haven't seen or read Heaven Is For Real. Honestly though, what I keep seeing about it, I don't seem to see what the big deal is about how this is dangerous for believers. I understand that in some cases, yes, a "near death" experience in terms of Heavenly visits should generally be met with an eye of skepticism from Christians. But what I keep seeing, and what I always hear usually when it comes to these experiences with Heaven, it just all doesn't seem that bad. I'm not sure how to explain it. But to me, who's to say that God doesn't give people glimpses of Heaven? Heaven is supposed to be this haven, this beautiful place where we can live forever with God and the family of believers in the perfect harmony we were originally created to be. If you were in God's place, wouldn't you want to show people a glimpse of that happiness that comes with being a believer? From what I've seen, this kid has had a major influence on people by sharing his story about Heaven being real. What if someone came to Christ by hearing about this story? What i'm saying is, I don't see why everyone is so upset over this book and movie. Why can't God use these "near death experiences" (and who's to say that people don't actually die for a moment during these and then have there souls returned to carry on that experience?) for His own purpose? Again, I haven't seen or read Heaven Is For Real, so it might just be the lack of information talking, but I just feel like everyone is being so critical about something that may actually not have been a bad thing?

I agree with you. I just got done watching the movie yesterday and being a believer, I was so happy today knowing what I get to look forward to, until some clown comes along and tries to rain on my parade with comments about this being "dangerous". There was nothing unbiblical about the kid's story, except I'm not so sure that Jesus has a rainbow-colored horse. I thought Jesus has a white horse, or maybe He has many horses. Jesus is coming back on a horse, as Scripture tells us.

It saddens me about Hank. I'am really surprised that he would use Todd Burpo in the same manifest with the Shady Hook Massacre. As Christians , followers of Jesus Christ, we are taught that our faith is a cornerstone of our lives. I have always been amazed by Hanks scriptural knowledge but whether the Burpo child is correct or not, Its not up to me to judge him. All I can say is that when I hear affirmations from people that have had Heaven experiences, its up to me to compare "my" biblical knowledge to the story at hand that has been told. I believe that if you are a true christian and you hear a positive application about Heaven, you should get a deep sense feeling weather its right or wrong. Jesus said " I LEAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH YOU AS A COMFORT. When you hear something that is not true, you should know right away that is wrong. Jesus said "MY PEOPLE PERISH FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE". I'm not a biblical scholar in any stretch but the Great Commission is what all of us are supposed to accomplish in the surroundings we live in, ** My Question Is - WHY would anyone downplay Heaven when this child has hit on many key points? - WHY would anyone risk publicly taking a chance of turning away a person or persons that might be in the indecisiveness between Christianity or Atheism? AGAIN - Jesus says in Revelations , I will add to the pain and suffering to anyone that adds to these scriptures. AND I will take away from anyone that takes away from the scriptures. Who are we to pick this child's experience apart. I wasn't there, and neither was anyone else. I think when a person plays "The Devils Advocate with GOD" - Be very careful Hank - your an intelligent guy. Dont play games with this for ratings.

Thank you, Jesus, for those that share their testimonies with us and for their part in fulfilling the great commission. So many have a fear of death and fear of the unknown... we don’t need more of it. Reason Gods Word is clear about edification and encouraging one another toward faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus. This includes Heaven. With this explanation... are we to now question the teachings from the Apostles? They didn’t have the Bible we have today to “test their experiences by.” Either we’re called to a life of faith, hope, and love or not. Examine the fruit of Holy Spirit or lack of it. Question anyone that sows seeds of doubt, builds their ministry on gossip-slander and divides the Body of Christ leading us away from a life of faith and future Hope. Follow Jesus, not man... you’re loved and our Heavenly Father has unique relationships with each one of us. Even children. Of course each encounter is personal and to be expected. I pray for this man according to Gods Word... “At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child and set him before them, and said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self-your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives and welcomes one child like this in My name receives Me; 6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble and sin [by leading him away from My teaching], it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone [as large as one turned by a donkey] hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” -Matthew 18:1-6

I had a near death experience. Five things stood out the most. 1) I was aware of everything! All thing's but nothing matter like it normally did. 2) I knew that I was dying. 3) Feeling of my soul "echoing" out of me like how waves move from a rock when you throw it in the water. 4) Moving fast, so fast I could not move; like the force you feel when you're on a rollercoaster. 5) Being consumed by light, not really white light but more like a rainbow of colors but I remember gold stood out the most.

Love for your own wellness is normal, it's natural, it's animal and it's good ! Love for the wellness of that you are not, it is not normal, it's supernatural, it's humain and it's DIVINE. We used to say that no one came back from there to tell us. But today there are thousands of people who have NDEs, who have come back from the beyond and tell us about it. And they all talk about this LOVE. "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." + "I am in the Father, and the Father in me" + "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No one comes to the Father except by me ." = LOVE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE! There will always be critics. I have never heard of Hank before. He talking as a scholar of the Bible, not as someone who has had a near death experience. I myself had a near death experience. The nurse was doing CPR and I didn't feel a thing. She kept calling my name and finally, the heart started beating and I came to. It is great to know the Bible inside and out. However, God works in mysterious ways. The Burpos were not out to make money. Pastor Todd didn't want to write a book unless the right publisher found him. He believed that was God at work. The movie obviously came after the book. Randolph Wallace stayed very close to the book. Hank, how do you explain Colton learning about his mother's miscarriage if he was never told that? Paul was an apostle so he acted one way. As a human during this era, anyone who has had a near death experience can talk or write about it. I believe that some will say it is all hogwash. Others, who have been non-believers, will believe. People who have been believers, will have greater faith. Don Piper's story is absolutely amazing. I think that since two pastors were involved, they can tell the story and put it in proper context of the Bible. I think Hank is jealous and he probably didn't sell many books. We can all have our own opinion.

In scene where the boys father and the woman from his church are sitting on a bench in the cemetery, at the grave of her son. She asks the father, "Do you think my son is in heaven?". The movie disappointed me greatly. Read the book, its really great and there are scriptures listed for the claims. Todd did in no way take Carlton seriously in the beginning, it wasn't until he started mentioning things that he had no way of knowing, that his parents started paying attention. They were very careful with their words, because they didn't want to put their own words in him.

I have been interviewing people for 16 years. Studies, training, and experience show the eyes are indications of truthfulness. Notice the person's eye movements. You can usually tell if a person is remembering something or making something up based on eye movements. When people remember details, their eyes move up and to the left if they are right-handed. When right-handed people make something up, their eyes move up and to the right. The reverse is true of left-handed people. People also tend to blink more rapidly ("eye flutter") as they're telling a lie. Watch Colton's video interviews and watch his eyes look up and around. Also, he sounds so coached, as if he is reading lines. I would love to believe him but too many signs he isn't being honest.

While the Bible is the final authority, I knew a man more than 40 years ago who coded while he was in the hospital and died. Jesus showed him both heaven and hell..... Many of the things he had reported has been echoed by many who Jesus has also showed heaven and/or hell. I think that Jesus shows people heaven and hell so that they will come back and tell others. There are so many people who sit in the pews every Sunday and treat it the same as if they are going to get groceries. The message from the culprit is their "feel good" time during the week but they have never accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The guy who had the experience, was the father of one of the girls I went to school with. He told the pastor of the church who asked him to come and tell the people in the church. Many of the things he experienced was echoed by Bill Weiss and others. As far as Todd Burpo and his description, did u ever consider that the Lord showed him things that he would understand and not make him scared? To suggest that other people who have experienced both heaven and hell should not be believed, is making you judge and jury on what tools Jesus may use to connect with humans and make them aware that what is written in the bible is true. So many people can not connect with the bible, they think it is a history book and can not associate with anything in it. Please be more respectful of others experiences.

2001 I was coded as "gone" brought back with a induced coma for 16 days. I saw more then even a book can hold but how much of it was my state of mind at the time or which was the time I had passed for those mins? I have no idea. This is so hard to believe as one thing that I feared since I was a child was death losing of my loved one's as we all do when left behind. One thing I remember is a very large book where this very nice person or spirit opened to show me that we have a date of birth we even got to choose our parents then after is our date of return and that nothing can prevent that date NOTHING!!! So in this book it is very clear that to worry or fear is not something I do anymore because I know in my heart and what I saw. As many that pass over I also saw a lot more that is what I am unsure of was after that book moment was I just in a mind state from the coma or was I really there?? It is so unclear other then the book. I live in a very Mormon area. They knock often to tell me their faith. I tell them I have prayed abut their faith I also explain what I have seen and know that what they preach is not real of what the bible is. I think I will be the only person that will or may ever believe what I first saw but in the end it made total sense. I also asked the nice person about the horrid death of children by the hands of man or accidents/illness, he told never fear as they feel nothing for God has taken them before the pain. I had such a peace before I ever went home. A peace that clams me about ever losing someone. I know now that there is a DOB AND DOD. I do think and wish I had asked about those who take their own life what happens? But I think or believe that they remain in limbo until their date but very unsure as well it is hard to know what your brain is thinking when you had been in a coma which was passing which was not. I have not read the book nor watch the movie. I have however had peace and agree in what I saw was very much the same as the book guided by the light. When my uncle passed and he was gone we were all to say good bye he sat up and said it is beautiful and then was gone and in the 80's when my grandma passed she said oh Bertha your here smiled and went. We never knew who Bertha was and then found that she was a childhood friend that passed by kicked by a horse. There is so many things that prove that heaven maybe real at least I know it is. I do not see how a young child can write a book or movie in this extent and think yes he may have seen or been comforted by Jesus or God but to write a full book and 2 hr movie I have a hard time believing this is not something his father put in his head as well.

Hank, correct me if I'm wrong but are you intimating at 30:07 that the New Jerusalem is not as described in the book of Revelation? Since you so eloquently verbalize your inability (or unwillingness) to interpret scripture at face value regarding the length and height of the Holy City as described in the bible does that mean that you have a different measurement for the City than twelve thousand furlongs (foursquare)? Have you also taken as metaphor the 12 foundations? How about the 12 manner of precious stones and the 12 gates being each of one pearl? Aren't you limiting the Omnipotence of God and conforming Him to your own familiarity with our dimension in the time/space continuum and worse; leaving every verse of scripture, from Genesis to Revelation as being metaphorical and "up for grabs"? I find the description breathtaking and a place greatly to be desired! Speaking of "dangerous", (I do agree with you on the topic of this video and that this NDE phenomenon and the books that follow are out of hand) don't you think that challenging the written word of God the way you are is a very dangerous thing to do? You need to hang around with Chuck Missler more often! If you question the dimensions of the New Jerusalem given in Holy Writ as being allegorical, doesn't that leave the rest of the bible a questionable construct of unknowable information? What about Noah's Ark and the dimensions that God gave to Noah? Are they also metaphorical? I have heard that you've also embraced the fallacious doctrine of Preterism and since I don't listen to CRI and the Bible Answer Man anymore I have been somewhat curious of how someone might move into such a heretical view of scripture from a seemingly solid hermeneutic but listening to a mere half hour of your teaching has shed much light on why you would believe that all of bible prophecy has come to pass with the destruction of the Temple in 70AD and that is your extremely loose interpretation of the word of God.

And 2- it's says he would be fighting in the battle of Armegeddion. Not that Jesus would return in his life time. That is what I first took from it also but then it occurred to me that the saints will join Jesus in the battle so it's possible it means just that. Could be a ressurected Todd Burpo. Not in this life time. That would explain that story from Colton of his father fighting in the battle if his experience was genuine.

I don’t Like the way you belittle Colton and his testimony by reading revelations from your book. I’ve never heard or care to read your book, but I will read Colton’s again and again. So keep your theory and your stages of manmade idioms - I’ll believe the eyes of a child before I believe yours. Ask yourself one question: Is your flowery speech turning one towards God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit or against it? It’s amazing how you take the words of other theologians and supposed learned people then cast judgment on Colton’s testimony and promote your book. You truly are a work of art!

Thank You!!! Let's talk about near life experiences now. Like all the amazing miracles I being an ordinary idiot that walks this rock, have experienced and collected proof of. New bones in my wrist, all broken bones, strearnum and torn muscles healed a week later after a head on collision that killed my wife. Gear shifters that broke off when they hit me instead of killing me. Lit into a fire that should have cremated me in 5 min. Walking through that fire without loosing orientation when all I could see was flame in every direction, nothing burnt but my sandwiches. Going into a car inches from a 400 ft. Flight into the Colorado river. Could not stop the car. It stopped, had the medical equipment in it to save the man's life and was stolen. It goes on and on. 10 discs in my back healed when I stood up to sing in church. Vein in my neck seperated, causing a strike, grew back together seen on ultrasound screen by 4 of us........ Let's talk about the word impossible being created by the world to carry people away from THE LORD. I have had a crazy life, like an action movie!!! Why??? I am nothing special!!! These events only offer one thing. To witness of the "Impossible" a d to tell people that with Faith, we can all have these experiences. THE LORD cares about each if us the same and to a Believer, the only requirements are FAITH and REPENT. THE LORD has the hairs on our heads numbered, most churches do not want members to know they do not. Filter and pick your church wisely as there is a lot of deception these days, that may cost a lot. JESUS, says that if you have seen me you have seen the FATHER. This means that JESUS has no time restrictions as THE FATHER. My point is that to a believer, JESUS tells He died for all sin, all sin in all time, so to a believer, He knew are sins before we did a d forgave them. Our only requirement, to repent. To allow a man to truck you into dragging up old forgiven sin, is to be tricked into the denial of the very reason CHRIST sacrificed Himself and rose again.

What confuses me is the sovereignty issue. I am in no way defending this child's account of heaven, but let me ask this, can God in his absolute sovereignty show someone heaven or hell? Couldn't doctors resuscitate someone back to life and couldn't that person have an afterlife testimony? Since God is sovereign and do all that he pleases as Calvinist keep saying, couldn't he then show men and women heaven and hell who were clinically dead in the hospital and then bring them back to life? Couldn't God do this in his sovereignty?

Trying to state an excuse for hersey as portrayed with these redundant books and films by saying this is limiting God - is a fallacy and ridiculous. Of course God can do anything, but he does not contradict His word. EVER! These books contradict God's word totally and are very deceptive. Ask yourself this then: Why didn't Lazarus write a book about his 3 days in the grave before he was raised from the dead? Because God chose not to - God has already revealed heaven and hell to us in Scripture and that is sufficient. When people are clinically dead as in cardiac or brain death they are not totally dead yet - if they were they would not be alive now. These people having these dreams, visions, or proclaimed out-of-body- experiences is not of God. God is not the author of confusion and He also NEVER contradicts His Word. Dead is dead - death immediately begins the deterioration of rotting the flesh. Only God can raise the dead as He did with Lazarus. And as of yet, there are no known cases of someone being dead in a grave for days who then came back to life. People do NOT go to hell or heaven and then return to earth to tell about it. Only those who will not believe the Gospel or that Christ is sufficient unless there is an experience, sign or wonder are the ones who will follow these delusional false stories.

This child is the son of a pastor and his family is born again and loved by our heavenly father. There are many stories that Contradict the Bible but as believers we have a precious child that had a glimpse of heaven and Jesus. Did Jesus not say that we are to humble ourselves as little children if we want to enter into the kingdom of Heaven?? Children believe and adults doubt.. This breaks my heart that people are attacking this Christian family instead of seeing the glory of God here. The God we serve is not of this world so why are we surprised at these things as if they are not of God. If an angel of the Lord would appear to you in the name of the Lord, would you believe?? Like I said not every encounter is of the Lord but a Christian family?? A pastors family?? An innocent child who speaks of the beauties of heaven and Jesus?? Why are believers so harsh?? If it was your encounter would you keep it to yourself or would you want to tell the world??

Hank is presenting alarms & concerns about book and movie. He is also going back and mentioning others that have written similar books with similar experiences. I remember very well the book he mentioned, Life After Life by Moody. He presents 10 major issues against Heaven is For Real; scripture is the plumb line/ the litmus test of validity. He said from the outset he would not be able to spend enough time to exhaust a complete defense. We are so emotional and sentimental creatures that we withstand to hear someone hold up the mirror of truth to us. Though I may not agree with every point of Hanegraaff's, he is holding forth the truth of God's word. We must remember that this was the recollection of a "small child." And in other people that have had similar experiences, it will be pictured or textured with the only way they can humanly describe it. That said, maybe I misunderstood Hanegraaff on these points; I could not tell when he referred to literal biblical descriptions of heaven, the new earth, 1500 mile square New Jerusalem, colors, streets of pure gold and other details from which were described by the prophets, the apostles, and the Lord Jesus Himself--was he dismissing it? Maybe not misunderstood. Being that he does not believe in dispensations, God has not forsaken Israel (read Romans 9-11 please), times of the Gentiles which began with King Nebuchadnezzar, and the church age or pre-millennialism. The place we call heaven or the Kingdom of God is a "literal" place and more vivid and real than we are here. It is eternal. And no we are not just sitting around waiting for Jesus to come--we are working till He does. What are you waiting for?

It is always wise to be skeptical especially when people make wild claims about revelations(For the Bible is God's revelation to fallen man), but we must be careful when we put God in a box, for it is written in the end days God will pour out His spirit and young men will see visions and have dreams...If anything is a sign post to the scriptures and if men point you to Jesus as the only way to the Father, be cautious in judgement and pray for discernment. The pharisees saw Jesus casting out demons and in their hearts thought it was the work of the devil, little did they know it was the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus proceeds to imply that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the only sin that isn't forgiven. When a child challenges the human ego of years of studying the word, still have the heart to seek the truth. Let us all come to God as children and believe in his power for who is like our God. Whoever reads this may we meet one day in heaven through the grace of our Almighty God amen.....

Heaven is For real doesnt claim to be a fact based book. Its simply the testimony of a child...If it leads one person to christ. How can it not benefit Gods kingdom? I wonder if Hank would say the same thing about Pauls encounter with Christ on the road to damascus....had it not been in the bible? Hank believes that the rapture wont happen...neither will Armageddon and that Revelations is only relevant for first century christians. Whenever you hear of an experience which contradicts scripture, it should cause you to pause and try to discern what is being propagated, so I agree with Maria Billingsley. I went to see the movie and yeah, it left some holes and made me think more and more it was a combination of a child's imagination and possibly some other supernatural forces to soften God's message similar to Raymond Moody's work which I also read

Its hard to believe stories like this because there is only one witness to it all. Hardly anyone can relate to it because they haven't experienced it. By the way, this is an innocent four year old's perspective. Perhaps God allowed Colton to see heaven in a way a child could understand. Maybe God allows us to see Heaven in a way we can each understand as individuals. The truth is, we will never know what happens when we die until we do.

Yes you are correct. That's what I heard. When we die we are greeted by the people that meant the most to us that has already passed on. For instance when it's my time the souls that will be there to take me home will be my mom and my grandparents and a few others that are important to me. Plus my furbabies. It's what comforts me so it is allowed. But after I'm there I don't know what exactly happens next. Also it's said your most favorite memory is there. Like let's say mine is with when my grandma baked her homemade apple pies. That smell. Well that same smell will be there when I arrive. To make me more comfortable. We won't have a body though, but we have an awareness. I can't explain it as I can't remember before I was born. But I have faith that thus will all be true. I hope and pray 🙏
