AP hugely deserves a remake. the story and dialogue systems in that game were so good, but the rest is just meh.

Yeah good one. I was actually going to say Splinter Cell Double Agent for similar reasons. There was so much wasted potential there plus bugs and cut scenes that didn't match the story. But Alpha Protocol may be a better starting point.

I don't know. I tried replaying it last year and even after ignoring the lackluster gameplay, the writing really isn't very good. Most of the time Michael Thorton acts like an edgy horny teenager, which really took me out of the spy story. A spiritual successor with a new story would be better.

That’s a good call! I would like to see Blood Omen get remade first as it is a slow pain in the ass to play it on my ps2. I can’t get down with those long load times.

@@gameranxTV Honestly, I know it is an unpopular opinion but if you haven't already I would encourage you to go back and play Duke Nukem Forever. Honestly, it is still fun and when you look at the criticisms of the era truthfully you realize that ANY Duke Nukem game would have been as heavily criticized because what critics were complaining about were often the exact things that make Duke Nukem. Vulgar protagonist with crude humor? That's just Duke. Forever is definitely the weakest Duke Nukem game but it has merits. The interactivity in map design was great and much of the humor is honestly funny especially compared to the humorless void we find ourselves in now. Forcing Duke to grab a turd to his audible disgust is still hilarious to me. Doing actions that make Duke feel good about himself rewarding you with more max Ego is also a nice touch. Duke Nukem Forever even had glory kills before Doom 2016 even came out, even if they were poorly animated.

It's reviews and general player sentiment was just that it wasn't the best or near to what it could/should be. Nobody was cancelling it or anything.

Lot's of reviewers explicitly went after the game's crude nature, maybe it was occasionally in service to other points (Destructoid used it to argue the game isn't funny) but most reviews did make an explicit problem of the game being crude. IGN is probably the best review of the game, and it avoids many of the issues I take with how the game was reviews (and IGN still rates the game poorly). Going back to the Destructoid review you also see the dumbest possible criticisms when looking at the reviews. They literally criticized the game for being TOO INTERACTIVE, with the reviewer complaining that the game padded its maps too much with busywork (the minigames you can find and boost EGO with). Not like secrets and exploration have been a thing in the FPS genre since its inception, never going to see that criticism lobbed at a game that they like because it is explicitly a criticism that is invalid and only used as post-hoc to attack a game they dislike. You can think Duke Nukem Forever sucks, reasonable minds can differ. Don't defend the terrible reviews for the game. Even in 2011 games journalism still was questionable at best.

Manhunt was banned in most countries, HIGHLY unlikely it would ever get a remaster due to how brutal it was. Granted it would be amazing to see it on UE5 and in full glory but R* would never, I mean you can't have any offensive license plates on GTA V which is an 18 so yeah.

Goldeneye has been Remake, as Rogue Agent and Perfect Dark, and also gotten a remaster. The Simpson's Game was alright, but that damn Vertical Split Screen was horrible on TVs back then. Might not be so bad considering all tvs are Wide screens now.

DA 2 is by far my favorite of the series. I love the premise of the story taking place in 1 city over a longer period of time - and yes, that brings re-used assets, but you can't really do a story like that without them. And I take offense at calling the combat boring :D

DA2 is definitely underrated, like all good games that follow up a great game (looking at you, Dark Souls 2). They definitely could have made better use of the "same city over time" premise though. Oh and I despise Isabella. She's just so unsubtle it's grating. And no, going through her relationship arc isn't helping much.

Never understood the hate for DA2, I like every DA game but the 2nd was the one that touched me the most, played it in my teenage years, I mean its just my opinion, best combat (simple and direct), my favourite companions are mostly there, story is simple but its well done, the game is short about 40-50 hours w DLC's but it feels good to replay. I liked Inquisition but that game is HUGE, about 120 hours to complete everything if you are the type of player who wants to do everything, other thing that I did not like was the companions AI, sometimes they stand still and looks like you are the only one attacking, its very annoying.

Homefront was ahead of its time in my opinion. Back then everyone complained about the massive lobbies and wanted cod size lobbies. If they'd of came out with Homefront a few years back it would've dominated. Edit: especially given the fact Battlefront can't get their act together and make a decide game these days.

*Really* hate to be that guy but its Dieselpunk not Steampunk. Diselpunk is the early to mid 1900's noticeably if it has gasoline or disel engines powering things. Steampunk is more Victorian England where things are powered by extremely powerful steam engines and might or might not contain mechanical computers like the ones designed my Babage. (Again sorry, I just felt that needed correction)

Was disappointed you couldn’t play as Neo, but it is what it is. I get what they were going for, but the story felt half baked. The Agent Smith clones in China town level was fun.

if i could fix one thing about Dead Rising 1, it would be the survivor ai. i think the aim system kinda helps to emphasize the improvisational nature of picking up whatever and using that instead. i would be totally fine if i could just offload guns to survivors, but they usually just go off on a killing spree if you do and then die. from there, id actually work on more shortcuts to take through the mall because on Day 1, its just way too frustrating to get anywhere.

I also remembered the original RE4's aiming was on the left stick. Or I could be wrong.

The combat and upgrade sysytems are so effing bland by today's standards. Needs a complete overall in those departments

I imagined the RE2-3 style DEmake for Onimusha in my head, and puked. Imagine praising those absolute butcherings, and wishing similar AIDS-tier cancer on other games. There is only ONE (1) way of properly remaking Onimushas (and all games in general), and it is the 2002 RE1 remake route. Period.

I was gonna comment, remakes of the N64 Turok trilogy might be cool. A lot of potential there.

YES! I was going to mention this since they did not. Honestly, the controls were great because it emphasized the hack and slash, dungeon crawling element of the game. The bosses were satisfying. Trying different builds was awesome. The setting was unique as you mentioned... Dude the game SHOULD have been a cult classic at the very least. Also, the loot was so satisfying.

@@Robot_247 I think you might be the 5th person that I've talked to who has played that game. I didn't hate the controls amd it only takes a little time to get used to. When that game came out l, the graphics were so good at the time. A cyberpunk ragnarok was such a good choice. Too bad we're in the minority!🤣

@@RazeAndSew Because it moved from a proper old school deep tactical PC RPG to a modern action - not so deep - RPG.. that's why - players of the first one wanted more of the same genre, old school PC RPG but what they got was a way more modern action RPG which they didn't expect.. plus the copy-pasted environments didn't helped either

@@wes8723 "Not so deep... " That's a lie that everyone falls for, and it's disappointing.. There was a huge emphasis on cross-class combos. A mage making someone brittle, so a warrior can pummel and break them. Or clerics popping haste and building a warrior to do massive quick swings to take down groups of enemies. Or a rogue stunning a group so that a mage can crit chain lightning. Also you no longer needed to invest points to unlock the tactics system, it was already unlocked. They nearly had the tactics system perfected because you could have your party play in any way you like and set up incredibly complex builds like a blood mage who toggles on and off passive once at a certain health point and then drains enemy corpses to restore in order to put the passives back up once they reach a certain health percentage...

cause like its said in the vid 90% of the maps are reused i liked the combat myself but after running thro 2 runs with most maps looking the same kinda made it become boring heck some of the choices you make were implide to chance the enviorments both in city maps and else where but dont do anything. ps the game after sucked dispite having varity in maps cause the story sucks and alot of the choices your focred to make could be avoided enitery but for some resaon all charators involed just lose their brains.@@RazeAndSew

I no joke watched the ENTIRE Bristol NASCAR race. The weird thing was it was GOOD! Scripted or not, this season (haven't watched in a decade or more) is wild!

I've been DYING to play that game . When I was younger I would watch people play it because it was too hard for me . I wish I could give it a go now that I'm older . Emulators are Terrible for any 64 game controls translate horrible.
