He and the dude playing Mario were drunk for most of the filming to cope with how bad it was. Interesting note: one of the movie's two directors directed Max Headroom, which might explain Bowser's hair.

Hey now, I love the Super Mario Bros movie. It's absolutely terrible, yes, but it's utterly fascinating to watch. Somehow they managed to turn the Mushroom Kingdom into a dystopian cyberpunk city that looks like something out of Blade Runner, and I love it.

You inspired a new drinking game for us the other day called it Ashens Lego, brought about 10 kits of the single item builds from Block Tech, you empty each boxes pieces into seperate bowls and with no instructions or the box you build what you think it should be: If you are wrong you drink, if you are right you dont drink, IF you build something better then what its suppose to be you can nominate someone to drink. Leguizamo played Tybalt in the Baz Luhrmann production of Romeo + Juliet, where he delivers one of my favorite lines in film (though obviously from a play): "What art thou drawn among these heartless hinds? I'm mildly ashamed to say that the live action super mario bros. movie was one of my childhood favourites. I remember walking to the local convenience store and seeing it on the shelf and begging my dad to rent the vhs tape for me.... It quickly became one of my favourite movies and to this day its nostalgia for me.. XD
