My Dad was in the Air Force and we were stationed in West Germany around 30 years ago. Remember it was those dark pre-internet times, so we couldn’t believe our luck when stumbling across a KFC on vacation. Surprisingly it tasted the same, other restaurants in Europe were often the “uncanny valley” of American fast food. Along with the chicken, they offered ribs cooked the in exact same way. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia, but these are still are the best ribs I ever had. I even live in Kansas City.

Along with the pressure cooker , most people don't have that . Also those 11 herbs and spices was not thought of by those hillbilly , he stole that from his black cooks and servants from the early 1900's and that's facts !!!

Just go to Marion Kay and order yourself some Chicken Seasoning, or 99X Seasoning (bigger container) they mixed it for the Col. when he still had franchise rights outside the US. They've even got an audio endorsement by him right on the home page! And if you're in a diy mood go to Glen and Friends on KZfaq. He has the ingredients, but not the proportions. He got his info from some franchisees, and didn't want to give it away completely. Find the last video in the series, because he goes through a lot of trial and error.

That’s what people think , until you use the recipe you know and boom, it’s won’t taste as good as kfc, you’ll alway miss a particular recipe

One of the secrets Col. Sanders fervently wanted to keep is that he was a Hoosier, not a Kentuckian. It's a fierce state rivalry along the Ohio River where the states border each other, and the reality that Sanders grew up near Henryville, Indiana (which is 20 miles north of Louisville) would blow the cover of his whole Kentucky motif. Sanders also lived in New Albany, Ind., just across from Louisville, where he was a street car conductor in the early 1900s.

As someone who works at kfc. You can’t buy the double down anymore. It has a special sauce we don’t carry anymore and our machines don’t have the button for it anymore

You can make a mini version of it by taking 2 chicken filets that we use for our Classic Chicken Sandwiches. Then put either the mayo or the spicy mayo on it. The only thing you'll have to put on is the bacon, lettuce, & cheese. Btw, that special sauce is the Zinger sauce we use on our spicy chicken sandwiches

@@BigAlFPV17 yes I work at kfc I know the sauces… you cannot buy it easily because they’ll charge you for two full sandwiches and then add all the ingredients, I can estimate this one sandwich being about 25$, it had its own unique sauce called the FLG sauce that is no longer carried

I beg to differ only because our okmulgee Oklahoma KFC is having a hard time and only Drive thru. Chicken great. But...can't go in and eat.😔

Thanks for this one! For me, Kentucky Fried Chicken remains the Best fast food fried chicken ever. Especially their Original Recipe chicken when paired with mashed potatoes & their gravy. And their Double Down is excellent! Ask for Extra gravy when you have one.

The only fast food job I ever had...and it lasted one day. I found a chicken head amongst the rest of the meat and breaded it because I was a kid, sorry. I didn't even bother to quit, I just never went back. 🐔👀 P.S. That's like facebook trying to call themselves meta, too late.

This was the original base of ingredients. They were altered. I'm sure nephew didn't know. I fish with Sanders grandson. I got the original recipe. The paper is close but 3 adjustments of amounts. And msg wasn't a seasoning or spice but did have msg. And Sanders sold USA rights and franchises made other adjustments. But Sanders kept rights overseas and they all use original recipe. There are 2 distributes that sell chicken recipes created from KFC except amounts. One sells the spice blend and one sells with flour ECT.. But that recipe if add 1tsp msg is very close. If making in regular home fryer, put in bowl when hot and cover with saranwrap, or will have the crispy recipe. Also it soaks in milk and eggs. Not buttermilk or buttermilk and eggs.
