Thats a trait of an abusive insecure boss, giving employers positive feedback is the job of a good boss, a boss not doing this but pointing out your failures is someone you need to get away from, anxiety and insomnia are the first signs of workplace PTSD, workplace ptsd can take decades to recover from and thats if you even get to that point, get out of there, your health is more important

All these traits fit my boss. It's been 2 months now in my new work and i noticed abnormalities on her from the first week but i tried to ignore because i was too fresh but now, with each day, I'm discovering more and more of her nasty games and disrespect to me and my ideas all the time infront of my colleagues. Later i discovered that more than 10 employees quit because of ber behavior and taking advantage of her authority in the company so, i decided to ditch her and save my mental health. No work or salary deserves being put down and insulted

Mine is the same way. She is a two faced snatch. She plays both sides of the fence. She hates my guts because I'm the only one who calls her out on her shitty behavior. She can't fire me because our GM knows I'm valuable. I know she's trying to run my out because she does petty shit to try and get under my skin but it doesn't work and that makes her even more angry. I'm a leader. I treat my coworkers with respect. I always tell them they are valuable and I always thank them for their help at the end of our shift. That's something she never does. My coworkers have more respect for than they do for her.

It’s weird how n why these psychopaths are made bosses
@briannerk3373
@briannerk3373 Жыл бұрын
Because people who abuse power are petty, and non-petty people have better, more meaningful things to do than seek out management positions. Also, being a manager is a skill that takes confidence to do well, and many people who get into management positions over time externalize their insecurity into abusive behavior towards employees. And yeah, you do get the occasional psychopath... but most of the time abusive bosses are just pitiful people who have lost faith in themselves and have given up.

I can relate ..My boss suffered a serious health issue and his son took over the business.. I had worked for the company longer than the son and knew more about the business than he did...he took my job away and wouldn't let me have verbal or telephone contact with customers....I watched the business go from successful to barely surviving ..I attempted to tell the owners wife what was happening to no avail.. when he began blaming me for mistakes he'd made and authorized..I quit..I had 30 years with the company.. the owners claimed not to know what was happening...I liked the job and customers but could not stomach the son..since I quit the son has run the business into the ground. he's run off most all the customers and lost a huge account I got for him...he hasn't been able to keep any employee they hired to replace me..I should have quit sooner..but I don't regret quitting..

Had to comment because this describes my old boss to a tea. He once asked if I'm insecure, which I've since learned is classic projection. Also spot on with checking all the work and not even allowing a tiny mistake that I wasn't even aware of. When you understand these things it can let healing happen and get to a healthy place in life.

Number 2 is a definitely hit the nail on the head. My manager is a micro manager, and she can be negative sometimes. I was trying to do the paperwork correctly today and explained something, but she wouldn't listen to what I was trying to explain. So I got up and walked off upset. I'm tired of the stress and her stubbornness and her way or no way, and she is never wrong. So I'm looking into another place to go.

I work at walmart, and have for 2.5 years. My manager yelled at me to "Shut up, grab a pallet, and get out of the back room." I started having a panic attack and I told her I needed to leave. She told me that I will be getting an attendence point even though she knows I have a history of panic attacks (we have had the same run ins before. With the yelling and rudeness) She then told the overnight coach to remove me from the building and he balled his fists up and blocked me off from trying to talk to her. He demanded I leave and stared me down with the intention of physically harming me. This all happened within the span of a couple of minutes.

My boss puts me down but in a subtle way. She'll say " no one has ever made this mistake before" implying that im the only idiot in the office. She gives me so much work ( admin and clinical) even though im only suppose to do admin aka paperwork/ insurance filings ect. Then will point out if i miss one SMALL thing even though she has overloaded my workload. I didnt get to say goodbye to my grandpa, because my boss made we work the next day so i couldnt drive down to where he lives (12 hr drive)when he was about to die. I had to go to the hospital ( as i had a cut in my eye) and she kept me at work for 2 hours, then i had to work a full shift the next day. She has gotten worse now where she will email me and the owner of the company and his wife , if i miss one SMALL thing. Meanwhile im showing up to work, barely take sick days, and training new employees... Its horrible, i hope to get out of this soon, its been 7 years of abuse from her.

I took a maintenance job at a hotel.Did not realize it until i started but the place wasnt kept up over the years and had 30 year old equipment etc.My manager was afraid to tell the owners and put the work on my shoulders to save money.She went as far as not wanting to hire commercial electricians,tech etc and said it was my responsibility.After 6 years of stress thinking i would do something wrong to injure or kill myself,another employee or a guest i walked out one day and never looked back.

How do you deal with subtile bullying. Like an agitated tone of voice , over talking or interrupting me constantly and one time he called me kid but I'm almost 40 years old i dont mind it if it's like term of endearment in a joking way but it was like he meant it condescending type of way like i feel if we have an interaction at work its like he's aggravated to deal with it . but he seems nice to everyone else. 😑😔😒😥now on smoke break he seems normal for the most part but i think he's mistaken my kindness for weakness I'll have to confront him.

My boss checks all this boxes a true evil women but the God above who sees all will do justice for all of us who get humiliated. I get we all meet to work to survive but no job is worth your peace and happiness .They don’t value anything and I learned after this awful experience that money isn’t everything and that we should never allow anyone to disrespect us !

This might not help an employee, but this is for insecure or dominant bosses...Every time you're speaking down to an employee...You are also speaking directly to yourself. That message goes right back into your own nervous system. Also, this only keeps both you and them insecure, as this energy is multiplied between you. This is science. Funny how there were certain principles designed to keep us both on the right track, huh? What's good for you is good for them. I guess figuring out how to be a good manager wasn't so hard after all. Pretend you're talking to yourself...Because you are:) Hope that was helpful.❤😊

We have people transferred to different stores. I had to take a longer commute because the worker in this particular store was so big they needed a store with an elevator. And I was making about $16/hr plus time and a half on Sundays but commuting 40 minutes both ways working six days a week….what a sacrifice

My boss shorter than me 170cm yet Think himself as a gangster and badmouth my Hometown whereas his Home town in rural area. In short he doesn't know his root. Such as when he blames me on something i doesn't do and react like a child when i fight him. Calling me to his office to lecture me but i react arrogant to arrogant people and if he punch me that day im not gonna back down. Im glad my contract with that company ended😂.

I'm a South African coming from my homeland on an H2A visa,come to help American farmers/ranchers to farm there land,. I have never been called a retart or idiot in my life untill the USA. Working, helping, farming for them is a struggle everyday. I've never seen so many narcissistic people on farmsteads than in the US. And yes we benefit from the dollar, but sometimes it's difficult to wanna stay, even for the money, being called names and being treated like shit while we come here to give our best, missing our wife's and kids. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth it.

I'm actually filing a lawsuit for sexually assault and degrading women working without a break and a boss that emotionally abuses knowing u have mental or physically illness. I have so many witnesses and text messages. Do not work for these kind of people. Yes ur boss is ur boss but they have no right to create a toxic environment. He would grab ur keys as a manager and would leave u without pay to take a week off. I was able to catch up but it was absolutely horrific I actually reported to my lawyer long before I actually had a real strong case with witnesses . But was in need to pay my bills. My last straw was when he didn't let me take a break said to take 5 minutes then told me your never goin to be anything or move up the list when on I said I'm goin to the dressing room so I can switch up my position it was then when he came.after me. I went home cried. I gave him the keys to the store working there since 2017. There are.better jobs out there !! It affected my mental health. Don't be a victim of abuse esp at work

Sadly toxic bosses tend to only leave when forced to, and usually even then only after higher ups start suspecting something is up (high turnover, consistent issues, etc)

Do I have a right to report my potentially toxic boss for this? She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. One of our student leader's responsibilities is organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up to go solo. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. That was very insensitive and harsh, and I think that if she said that to a person with a learning disability, they would be hurt and deem her a bigot. I should've told her that, to make a point to her about tact. Can I report her for verbal abuse?

If my supervisor keeps over stepping 😊 He will be waiting in the unemployment line. He thinks it's appropriate to call me honey, buddy or Juls? Then dude stares at me all night..Makes my skin crawl..He's only been with the company a couple months and he knows nothing!!! If I went to HR about his behavior he'd be gone..I have turned stoic , gray rock..Not interested. He pats me like a dog. I can't stand him.

All these horrible stories in the comments section. I quit my job a few months ago because of a lying, manipulative and abusive boss. Although he had been playing me from day I joined his team, I quit in a moment's notice. I had to. Thing is I loved my job and the company, I was great at my job and everyone knew me for my work.

I worked a call center tha appointed some idiot from Nigeria that could hardly speak or type in English, use Outlook, and thought his PhD. that he got in a shak somewhere in Africa made him a diety. He had a stupid habit of sending everyone on the group chat, "eberybuddy, if yuh ah excitade to hilp pasients(patients), plis reply wit a YES!" ALL of the women fell in line due to them being very young, but I saw right through his incompetence and his need for that sweet narcissistic supply. He even DM'ed me to ask if I was "Okeh." His desk was across from mine so I told him, "I don't see the need for roll call when you can see who is logged in." It was downhill after that with the micromanaging, so I told him I will not train the new hires any longer and that HE should take the initiative. I knew he was not capable of talking on the phones because his English is horrible and does not know how to even navigate the systems that we used. So this pissed him off even more and i also told all the staff (since i fucking trained them) that i will no longer be available to assist them andbthey they should contact the African't since i will no longer help him look good. Needles to say we lost the majority of our top performers as a result of his behavior, and i would have stayed longer, but I had a chance to cost the company money and productivity by walking out on the last day of a couple coworkers (one gave 2 weeks, the other on maternity leave) That following Monday they were down 3 experienced and productive employees, lol. Screw that Boko Haram third world stinky ass mutha... he was making me feel genuine hatred towards him to the point that I had to walk out without notice since he was just looking for a reason to can me. But that company has a horrible reviews by patients AND former employees so I should have listened to their warnings lol

And I called the boss and told them, they said don't put no gas, the car was about to stop with me. They think I am stupid. And the only thing they could say they forgot to put gas in, 😮
