The things I like to add along with the standards/ foundation (that where HIS/HER words are followed by actions); - CONSISTENCY - INTEGRITY - TRUST - TRANSPARENCY - LOYALTY - SHARE SAME/ SIMILAR VALUES (e.g. Monogamy, and communicate clearly what the values are) - BEING TOGETHER AS A TEAM - CONNECTION (NOT JUST LOVE AND SEXUALLY BUT A DEEP TRUSTING FRIENDSHIP) - NURTURING, TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER - NOURISH ONE ANOTHER SPIRITUALLY WITH PEACE, LOVE, JOY, AFFECTION, APPRECIATION, CARE, GROWTH

I adore You 😍 I look how He treat others too, because if He treat bad others, I don't trust him. I look if He is honest in his work also. It He is cheating, not paying taxes, might not be the right men for me. Lately I look also if He is growing spiritually, because I am doing it, but if He is not, in short time we'll be on too different level...

5 months into a Long Distance Relationship with my boyfriend all we fulfill all these categories. We might be going through a hard time right now (me with college exams being mentally and physically exhausted, and him with family problems) but we have our backs, and know that we will grow stronger from it. We haven’t had an argument yet but we always listen to each other. We trust and love each other. We are also fighting to be together after we have finished college to build up our future.

zumzy u - I agree it’s extremely important to be smart with who you choose to be in a relationship with. I’ve found that there’s complete trust and then there’s co-dependency which is extremely unhealthy for any type of relationship. It’s really difficult for me to trust someone who has WhatsApp on their phone. It just tells me they’re up to no good. What really is the purpose for WhatsApp?? It’s to hide messages. If someone is trying to hide messages then they’re not being truthful, which is cause to distrust. I truly believe that it’s really important to make smart decisions and smart choices in life generally speaking. Hope this helps. 😌

This is very good information. I agree with everything mentioned. Some of it I learned the hard way during a 46 year marriage. I am starting a new relationship now but I really don’t think I will ever find the true love I had in my marriage. However I think your guidance is spot on for all you young people in new relationships. Just thought you might want to hear from an older person who had a good long marriage and agrees with your good advice.

Man I learned a lot. I am not in a relationship yet, but I thought about my old pastor telling me that I need to be mate my man needs me to be. And I met someone recently who challenges me on this, so now I realize I can't be excellent after I say "I do" or he gets on one knee, it starts now while I take care of myself. I also realize I don't always communicate when things change and that is quite often. And that I don't have to volunteer my time for every cause or drama. I need me time and time for great. Thank you Mat!

Very nicely said Mat. And so true. I thought that it would be respect or communication, but if we don't, like you said, have TRUST, then neither respect or good communication can follow. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoyed it and listened with a smile on my face.:)
