A LOT of people telling me that Lumos and Nox doesn't work for them... Apparently, if you change your phone's region to United Kingdom, it will work (you could of course set it right back after). Give it a try if this tip isn't working for you.

I’ve found the issue. It’s not whether Siri is set to UK or US or whoever, it’s how you start Siri. It won’t work if you hold down the multi-use button to summon Siri. You have to have “listening for Hey Siri!” Enabled and say “Hey Siri, Lumos” YOU CAN ALSO SAY “Hey Siri, Accio ‘Instagram’” and it’ll open Instagram or whatever app you say in ‘ ‘

Since I have “cut the wire” and am using KZfaqTV on my AppleTV, I can simply say “Hey Siri, pause the TV,” or if I’m refilling a drink in the kitchen and have missed something I can say “Hey Siri, jump back 30 seconds on the TV” and it does so. Quite an awesome hands free tip.

I know for myself that for years I moved away from asking Siri anything because the answer was always the same “here’s what I found on the web”, for pretty much anything. Useless. But it has come so far, so fast, it’s very useful now. I use it almost exclusively now over Alexa. Thanks for this vid, I didn’t know it did this much more. 🇨🇦👍🏼

When doing a task and I have something else to do in 36 mins, I just ask Siri to set a timer for 36 minutes and then I can focus on the task at hand. Also when following a recipe and I need the measurements in grams instead of ounces I simply ask Siri to convert the amount while my hands are full.

Siri is greatly underused and yet it’s so versatile. One of my favourite uses is to ask “Siri what movies are showing at the moment” to check the local showtimes and get a rundown of movie options and even provides and plays the film trailers instantly. Tip: If you have misplaced your board game dice. “Siri roll a dice” and get the result as if you had rolled the dice yourself. Works for coin flipping also “Siri flip a coin”.

I think sending texts is a huge one for those who don’t like to type like some senior citizens who can’t see well and Siri will read the reply texts back too, this feature has been around for a long time. If you are listening to a song or a podcast, you can tell Siri to skip forward or skip back for a specific time period. For example, hey Siri, skip forward 20 seconds. hey Siri, skip back 20 seconds. I’m not sure if it works with every single app. But it’s a cool feature. Thank you for this video.
