Great idea, nice to have links laid out in one video. Always a pleasure watching! Short videos are nice but don’t always get to see the details/difficulties or tricks to the trade. I personally would watch a hour video by you T-Mike just to catch everything…

Good job Tmike, on my 3rd motor restore but waiting for warmer weather to paint so number 2 is on hold and number 3 is just a pain right now. I still need to get a better boat for testing especially for anything over 5 hp due to weight. When I test the ones, I have it will have to go on as a kicker on my big boat next to my 60 hp merc which is bolted on the boat.

T-Mike you are a BOSS. Thank you for your videos and superb information. I have a 4 year old son and I am about to undertake building him a boat that I want to power with a vintage outboard motor. I want to restore the motor myself. I was thinking it would be cool to have a motor from the 40’s or 50’s. I have decent tinkering skills and have restored a 1948 pedal car, so the painting, etc. I have experience with, but I don’t have any real mechanical restoration experience. Is there a particular year/make/model you would steer me towards ? Or a particular year/make/model you would suggest I stay away from? I don’t think I’m ready for anything super complicated or finicky. I have no idea from one manufacturer to the next or availability of parts, etc. I greatly appreciate your help. THANK YOU!!

Hey T-Mike. What size fuel line should I use for a 1988 Evinrude 9.9? Also, when running the engine should I run it at wide open throttle when cruising or slightly less? Thanks for the great videos and sharing your knowledge!

TMike, Thank you again for helping folks as you do so well. BTW- Is setting the points off the cam,l method, as seen on one of your videos, sufficient IF I don't want to invest in the 180° pointed tips timing bar if I don't want to spring for the $40 for one for this engine alone? Looks like those timing bars are vary for different motors. I have 76 9.9 Johnson I am gradually working thru getting it to run again? Thanks

How much do you think it will cost me to restore my 9.5 Johnson seahorse model # 9R-73B? All new seals, new fuel pump, kill swich, carb kit, water pump impeller, ignition coils, ect... I'm just curious how much im gonna have to save up when I get around to doing my first boat motor rebuild. Thanks in advance and I've learned alot from your videos! Thanks for taken time to record very understandable videos for the people that have no idea what they are getting themselves into!

I give $100 for them and put 2-300$ in them with 40 hours labor and flip for $1,250.

@@michaeljsimon ok sounds like a decent profit,I'm looking to buy this one for less than 100$ says it doesn't run ,but that ain't no biggie,I'll get it going,I own a 1960 Evinrude 18 HP that I've restored runs fantastic!
