I think Jericho , Benoit , Billy Kidman and Hitman are literally 4 superstars they could have done so much with but they never did.

It's really amazing that WCW went out business. The NWO storyline helped them take down WWF in the Monday Night Wars for 83 weeks & to boot they had a great midcard roster (Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Booker T, Steiners, Raven, just to name a few) Not only should they still be in business with that roster they easily could've stayed on top for another 10 years had they bothered to evolve.

Because they refused to DO ANYTHING with that fantastic undercard of theirs. They refused to do anything with ANYONE besides Hulk Hogan/Scott Hall/Kevin Nash/the other nWo "A-Team" players, Sting, and Goldberg.

Your right partly the nwo did help them take over wwe as the top promotion but they drove nwo in the ground it lasted too long and too many members and versions And never used chris jericho chris beniots Eddie and rest of the mid carders right hell stone cold was missed used in wcw one of the biggest stars in wrestling history and they failed him They relied on the big names too much when instead of getting them to put over the real stars there egos wouldn't let them had they did wcw might lasted longer might still be here

@@jacobhammond4481 according to SLI evidence suggested that he had depression and CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy). Which occurs after multiple blows to the head. This can lead to behavioral problems, mood problems, and problems with thinking. I am not fully defending him but you need to consider that he may not have had full control over what he was doing.

Savage was at least booked as a main eventer for parts of his run in the company. His feud with DDP is credited with helping to get Page over too from what I can gather so that wasn't wasting him. How would you say he was wasted?

Savage and Hogan were best buds again in WCW, which meant Savage was indeed in the main event scene. He DEFINITELY wasn’t wasted.

RVD was in WCW? Sandman was in WCW? IMO, they didnt waste Sandman then. Sandman is a guy who literally can only be successful in the original 1994-2001 ECW. Elsewhere he doesnt work. Because he cant wrestle for shit. He's little more than a badass entrance. Which is why he relies on the hardcore stuff. It's his crutch that he uses to mask his absolute garbage in-ring skill. Which works fine in an environment like ECW's. But in more "legitimate" promotions like WCW & WWF...yeah not so much.

yeah the nwo storyline overshadowed a lot of talent that they had unfortunately with a huge storyline like that and being spread out through basically the entire roster it was unavoidable

Every Lucha? That's just silly talk, especially if you compare WCW's Cruiserweight division to WWF's Light Heavyweight division. WCW pushed international lucha of both Mexican and Japanese styles by putting guys on TV like La Parka, Psychosis, Juvi, Eddie, Chavo, Rey, Kaz Hayashi, Ultimo Dragon. Then you had Americans and Canadians like Jericho, Benoit, Malenko, Lash, Shane Helms, and Billy Kidman. All given creative storylines and pushes on regular TV and PPV by WCW while at the same time WWF was underutilizing their guys under 215 like Taka, Brian Christopher, and Scott Taylor while giving Gillberg almost a year long reign with their belt. WCW's Cruiserweight division was a guarantee that Nitro and Thunder would have at the least one good-great match a night. WWE currently runs 7 hours of cable TV a week and a monthly PPV of aprox 4 hours. That's a ton of tv time and the only show where you are guaranteed to see at least one good-great match a week is in NXT, the show where the little guys wrestle. I'm not counting 205 Live because it is on the network and I'm not about spending my cash to watch something WWE themselves have forgotten about....again.

@@FnRenner I somewhat agree with you but even on this list they show how eddie was under appreciated and they constantly unmasked luchadors which is the highest dishonor on a luchador and many luchadors retire after being unmasked and wcw knew that but didnt care and kept unmasking them

The only consolation for Bret Hart was that he was paid like 3 million a year, which was like 5 times what he was getting paid in WWF. Not bad for a wrestler past 40.

Bret should have known that hogan and all those other old timers werent going to share the spolight with him...WCW would have won the wars if they used Bret properly.... even Vince has said he was worried for bret that WCW wouldn't know how to use him and that they could have built their whole brand around him..if they did whether you liked him or not, it was true, Bret Hart was the best worker in the ring, he put guys over without question, but when others wouldn't do it to him he got pissed, who wouldn't.

Buff Bagwell was one of the most over guys in the company. Could of had him feud with Big Poppa Pump for the TV or U.S. titles and prob should of had atleast a tag team reign with Steiner as well

Bret couldn't have a match around Starrcade 1997 because he had a no compete clause. He had to wait a while. Regardless they made him look stupid with the main event finish

I dont care what anyone says...i was wcw till the very end...now i did know just how ridiculous it was in many areas toward the end...mainly late 99 to the end...but there was still some good parts...but i thought jerry lynn was called mr.jl...may ne wrong...shane Douglas finally got a push which i thought was great...unfortunately it was too late and wcw died...

Can we stop with the "WCW misused Bret Hart" bullshit? A) They couldn't use Bret in a wrestling capacity at Starrcade 97 due to his split with WWF. B) Bret was gone for a good bit during his 2 years in WCW( he left in 99 due to injuries and when he began to come back, Owen died, so his missed a good 6 months in that 2 year period. C) Having him feud with Flair, Luger, DDP, Curt Hennig, Sting, and Goldberg isn't exactly having him wrestle jobbers, and he did win the United States, Tag Team, and World title during his time in the company.

I can't believe WCW's midcard matches were referred to as the "car crash portion" of their shows during Eddie's tenure there. They were easily the most exciting and impressive matches on their shows. But I guess there were too many dummies out there who were duped into liking the typically generic punch-kick matches of a majority of the headline stars.

This is a list just to make a list Eric gave Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Eddie a shot by putting then on live TV you're only saying there wasted in wcw cause they werent in the world title picture or cause they were stuck in one spot they were still good and had a good fan base in WCW if Eric never gives them a shot they probably get wasted in WWF

You do know that most of these guys were wasted by WWE as well? Even the couple that found success later, were still wasted in WWE for large parts of their runs.
