Specs of Tapas from Wikipedia General characteristics Capacity: 350 kg payload Length: 9.5 m Wingspan: 20.6 m Empty weight: 1,800 kg Powerplant: 2 × NPO-Saturn 36T engines wing-mounted turboprop, 74.57 kW each (Prototype) Powerplant: 2 × VRDE indigenous , 160 kW each (Production) Propellers: 3-bladed constant-speed propeller Performance Maximum speed: 224 km/h Ferry range: 1,000 km Endurance: 18 hours Service ceiling: 9,800 m I am certain that Tapas cannot achieve 9800m altitude yet, but perhaps final production variant can achieve those numbers.

It's a good move by armed forces to go for indigenous platform with real life performance figures

They cut the order from 97 to 10, which means it is dead program.

@datoolz0 The DRDO has already said it will continue to improve Tapas platform and also improvise it into the Archer NG. So, I think it will happen. Even if doesn't it will allow DRDO to mature technologies that will finally go on Cats and Ghatak

What is the range of Tapas drone? I just know the edurance of 18 hours. ? Can someone clarify this?

Around 250 km. The Heron Mk1 has similar range

Good to use Indian designed and made equipment. NO EXPENSIVE FOREIGN SHINY TOYS Iterative development will improve with feedback from the armed forces.
