Adelaide, heck no! In summer it’s my version of hell on earth. It cools down to 27 c at night and you can’t even have a cool shower because the water is warm.

Adelaide gets hot too , guys. Even in Ballarat ( Vic) which has a sad reputation for being cold, has had some really unbearably hot times.

Australia is a vast country with a land mass similar to that of the USA. The climate obviously varies with Darwin close to the equator so a tropical climate with a wet and dry season. South East Qld is subtropical with a hot and humid summer and pleasant and usually drier winters. I lived in Brisbane for 4 years during University, grew up in northern NSW and also lived in Adelaide for more than 17 years. Adelaide is indeed hot, heatwaves nudging 40 degrees for days on end with overnight temps of 30....Not the most pleasant but autumn and spring in Adelaide in just about perfect. I'm in Tasmania now (Launceston), so at a latitude of 42 degrees, climate where I am is temperate and we have 4 distinct seasons, with snow inland in winter, seldom snow in "Launnie", temps here, summer maxima of around 20-30, today was 26 and overnight, around 15 deg C. The highlands here resemble those of Scotland (or so I have been told). Winter tends to be from 0-10 to 12. Some days can be miserable in winter... We have daylight saving here too (not in Qld though) so peak summer you will have some light at around 9.30pm and sunrise 5.30am. In winter, the days are short. The Australian Alps receive more snow than the Swiss Alps apparently. The beaches all over Australia are simply stunning, you'll find a great one wherever you are. So, not every place in OZ is scorchingly hot 24/7 365 days a year, it's a big country. And yes, you seldom see snakes or spiders. If you do see them, just leave them alone, the paranoia surrounding this is laughable.

Check the weather at the surf Coast Anglesea ..Victoria.. no humidity..lush forests.. waterfalls ..surf..and snow fun water slide parks ...Victoria has it all.

“Spend the summer in Adelaide” caused a reflex guffaw to burst from my lips. Sure, it doesn’t have Brisbane’s humidity, but just because it’s south, doesn’t mean it’s cool. When the unimpeded sun is boring through your skull and melting the roads, I think you might find yourself longing for a soft, protective blanket of moisture in the air. Beautiful city, though! Worth a shot

40° South Australian heat is far worse than the heat on the Sunshine Coast

yes, adelaide gets really hot. less humidity but do some homework . if you want cool, hobart. or blue mountains near sydney.

Adelaide? Do some research Bam Fam. We have friends down there and it usually gets into the 40’s down there in summer. On the other side of the fence my daughter lives in Tassie. Yeah yeah you might get 4 seasons in an hour but the heat is nowhere as intense. She lives in Launceston and has for well over a decade. No plans of ever coming home to Queensland. If I could, I’d live there too but Queensland is just too good to leave.

A tip with humidity when you have a shower don’t dry yourself gives you about an hour to get things done worked for me in qld.

Looks like the audio from previous videos has been sorted. A word about Adelaide, some others have mentioned it, but do your research, because summers in Adelaide can see the heat from central Australia funneled through Adelaide. It can get very hot there. I am from Queensland, but I think, to get away from the heat and humidity in Queensland, Tasmania is a pretty good choice.

Forget about Adelaide. That dry 40+ heat day after day actually does feel like an oven the moment you step outside. I lived north of Adelaide and after 6 summers I was outa there and back to the humidity.

I think Adelaide has the best climate out of all the States..🥰 Truly have 4 seasons.. 🤗 Summers often bloody hot, springs just gorgeous. Autumns cooler and pretty with leaves are falling.. Winters wet, green and cool, but not freezing🥶

I'm an Adelaidean so I can tell you the weather is a dry heat down here. It's so different to the heat you have in Queensland. You don't sweat but you breathe in hot air. I'm not an outdoorsy person so I spend a lot of time hibernating inside with the blinds and curtains closed and close to one of my air conditioners. You really need more than one available.

That Noah's juice in the beginning you were drinking is bloody awesome, especially the Apple, Watermelon and mint. We cant seem to find it anywhere up here in North Queensland! The consistency and thickness in the juice is like water.

You do know that Adelaide can be one of the hottest places to be in summer don't you? Perhaps Hobart would be a better pick?

Perth would be great for your 2nd property. Climate wise it's not too hot or too cold. Property prices are good too. Only draw back is your so remote over there. But you are closer to the UK and Bali. 😜

You have to add Tasmania to the list. While prices have been going up it's still relatively affordable and you get a very different climate to Queensland. If I wasn't going home to Airlie, the only two other options would be Apollo Bay in Victoria or Bicheno in Tasmania. Tasmania is also very easy to drive around - it's very hard to go anywhere more than 500 km away, unlike Queensland.

Victoria has high temperatures in summer can be up to 40c for a few days but cool in Winter. Unlike Queensland we have warm to hot summers and we get a cool winter...nothing as cold as UK. We have snow in the high country with ski fields in winter. Snakes are only a problem if you go looking for them, they leave you alone. In northern Victoria it is hot all summer and because they are north of the great dividing range, they don't get a cool change in the summer like coastal Victoria and Melbourne. I like Victorian weather most of the time except if we get days in the 40s, then I worry about bushfire. I have been here for Ash Wednesday and Black Saturday, not a pleasant experience for a city Pome 🙃 but we survived.

I’m from Melbourne but I would definitely choose Tasmania, a terrific Australian state and a wonderful place to be in, you have also got the benefit of being overseas!

Thanks for sharing that eatery Maz! I will def check it out when up Noosa Cooroy way! My choice of a cooler option in summer would be along the NSW north/mid coast down around Nambucca Heads . The temp today is 26 against our 32 deg here in Brisbane .. lower humidity and sea breezes sounds a dream in summer.. Yes Adelaide can be scorching in summer I have been told by former occupants though I have only been there in winter when it was v-e-r-y windy and cold We are spoilt here in Queensland with longer daylight hours especially in winter .. it gets dark earlier if you go much further south ..

It gets very cold in Adelaide in winter. In summer its a dry heat that burns. Autumn and spring are nice. You'll need to experience both seasons before making a commitment.

Or if ya wanted a break from that terrible humidit heat head to Oberon or orange in regional nsw it snows ❄ there every winter it will feel like home hahah

I grew up on the Sunshine Coast. I would never want to live on the Gold Coast but would move back to Sunshine Coast. I found the climate on the east coast of the NZ South Island perfect in Summer where I lived for nearly a decade. When I moved back to Australia I moved to Armidale NSW because I knew it would be nice in summer because you are up so much higher than sea level. Do miss the Sunny Coast in winter. I have heard Harvey Bay just north of you is a little better in Summer - it may be worth checking out.

That dry summer heat down south; Melbourne/ Adelaide is worse than the Sunshine Coasts humidity. I remember putting the TV in the window and sitting under the the sprinkler on the front lawn at 10 o’clock at night. Ex Geelong boy living in Glenview. S.S.C.

Adelaide to escape the heat definitely NOT!! lovely place but I've been there many times during January & it's HOT as hell! A real dry heat that sweeps in front the dessert. In fact I think it's much hotter in Adelaide then The Sunny Coast just not humid but the heat will kill you guys. For areas to look at without the humidity and still hot and still may have 40'c days but not an everyday thing I would suggest probably anywhere along the East Coast from Vic to Byron Bay. I live in Cairns and man the humidity here is an absolute killer during the spring & Summer. We used to live in a place called The Central Coast which is just North of Sydney by the ocean and it's an amazing place! We will be moving back there this year and I can't wait! Lots of Brits there! I have soooo many Pommy friends there and my GP & most of the GP's at that practice are all English too! So many places in Australia to consider but Adelaide is way too hot & the water very cold from Antarctica.

I would buy in Tassie, it is stunning. Lovely and smaller…easy to drive around…less time on the road. It’s clean and has beautiful beaches….and charming towns….it’s completely different to the mainland (Australia lol). Might feel more like home. I’m from Melbourne, so I have no need to say any of this😬💕

The heat in South Aus is very dry, but just as hot. 45 degrees was not unusual in summer.

Definitely consider Melbourne where you will get 4 seasons. No humidity or very little!

For 2nd property try checking out the south coast of NSW...be well...

Btw, here’s some hidden info for you. If you want to get away from the heat. On days we’re it gets to 30 degrees for a few days or 40 degrees, in Melbourne, that heat is soon broken by a cool change coming off the bay and cooling down Melbourne & Victoria’s southern parts. Melbourne does get Adelaide’s weather a day or two later but not as extreme and Melbourne doesn’t get the tropical storms, destruction and rainfall that Queensland and Sydney gets. So if you looking at an antidote to that never ending heat and humidity of Queensland, good luck in Adelaide…but your looking at the wrong State. Adelaide’s water is rubbish, they have heat, they have less population which means stuff gets done quicker in other powerhouse States who have greater amenities and Adelaide is classed as a sleepy State for a reason . And as you two get older, heat and humidity isn’t the friend of ageing couples. Your block of land should be in Victoria. Not Adelaide.

Not many days of heat in Melbourne just a few days each month in summer hardly no humidity so way less sweating probally only needed aircon 2 days and 2 nights in January at night 18 to 22 celcius completely different to Queensland .much more comfortable...and those noisey bugs we don't get them much maybe 1 year every 15 years.

Adelaide, hottest capital in Australia. Check the average temperatures in summer. Somewhere in Tasmania would be best.

south australia, polar blast one minute, desert furnace the next. i like south australia a lot, i don't live there though i live in port stephens nsw. but if you asked me what area has the best all round climate i'd say mid north nsw coast, you don't get morning frosts in winter and the summers are a notch cooler than qld.

Aderlaide Maz and ben look about 10 years ago that had about 12 days straight where the temperature dandy drop believe 38 degrees C EVEN at night !! it get the very hot Desert winds blowing in summer the desert can be 50C plus so the winds are hot very hot . If you get another place its two lots of maintenance who mows locks after the pool etc ?

I keep my dogs out of long grass in the warmer months.

Great video this week but you didn't answer the obvious question of who's the best looking most humble bloke in Australia . I assumed, that you knew that you had my permission to drop my name should this question arise as I'm sure it has on many occasions . No worries you can rectify this next time all those pommie stickybeaks ask you all those questions . By the way Adelaide though a beutiful place, was , when I visited in the middle of winter , hotter than it was on the Gold Coast where I'd just been , the best place to go in summer is obviously Newcastle where I live , its a great place to visit we have access to everything you need and of course the people are renowned for their friendliness as well as all being extremely good looking and modest . And as a bonus you can have a picnic on any of our buses , stationary or on the move WIN WIN

There’s a lot of misleading info here. Yes Adelaide does get very hot but that’s for 10 to 14 days a year not all summer! In 21/22 there were no heatwaves (days over 40C.). 80% of summer Max’s are 27C to 34C and 15C to 22C mins. That means a few hours of air con in the afternoon and really mild pleasant nights to sleep without discomfort or air con. Yes Adelaide gets cold in winter but from November to April it’s really fine. Sunny most of the time and no humidity. It’s been 26C plus lately with mild nights. Yes it’s a relatively quiet place but all of the main events are from February to April when its definitely not! The Festival of Arts, the best Fringe festival, the only World music festival in the country(Womad), Motorsport, AFL gather round for the next 3 years (a major success). Then you have no traffic issues,affordable housing (compared to the major cities), beautiful botanical gardens with world class displays.and a lot more. The best time to visit is March when the weather is still warm and the nights are mild.

Adelaide is a good choice :)

Guys Adelaide has terrible beaches boreing .for a less busy city try Geelong ..the surf beaches just 20 minutes drive to the great Ocean Road..24 degrees days at beach very comfortable..and no humidity Melbourne is not to far about 1 hour drive .

I know it gets a little hot and sticky in Brisbane, but you need to look back to when you were living in England before you moved to Australia What did you do when it was very cold and wet, I bet you were locked up indoors with the heater on for many days of the year. So, on some of the really hot and humid days, spend them in the pool or indoors with the aircon on, which I'm sure you do, a lot better than freezing your ass off. Adelaide is a very nice location, but boy it gets very cold in winter, stick with Queensland, but a piece of advice, do not move to my little out of the way town called Exmouth. Just about every summers day it's over 40c up to 48c and with fairly high humidity, not sure how I cope. After 28 years it's getting a little hard, maybe time to move to a cooler place like Queensland.

If you'd love to live in the hotter parts of Australia, there is a trade off...snakes, bugs, jellyfish, sharks etc. But that's just the law of mother nature everywhere. These creatures love warmer climates all around the world. You won't get them in the cold or snowfields around the world. But having said that, because of the warmer weather in Queensland all year round, you'll never be eaten by a Grizzly Bear or Polar Bear. 🤣 (I'm an Aussie)
