7:02 Making T20WC a quadrennial tournament (once in 4 yrs) from biennial (once in 2 yrs) it'll only reduce opportunities of Associate nations who'll have to wait for 2 more yrs after every T20WC. If I could then the changes I'd make are: 1) Bring back Intercontinental Cup & winner will get temporary Test status to winner. Temporary Test status will bring temporary Full membership & voting power, it'll last till the next Intercontinental Cup. Temporary Test status can become permanent if the team wins at least 2 Test matches, so lower ranked Test nations (who are not in WTC) will be required to play a set number of Test matches with these temporary Test nations. 2) South America will be a separate region. There'll be total 6 regions & all will have their own independent regional governing bodies like ACC is for Asia. No more icc hyphen regions like icc-europe, icc-americas, etc. These autonomous regional bodies will be required to look only for the best interest of Cricket & Nations in their region only, they won't have to care about any other country. They'll also have a seat in ICC board along with Test nations & voting power on issues except Test Cricket (they can vote for issues on First Class Cricket). 3) Allow women's teams to get Test status & hence Full membership on their own so teams like Thailand women's team can make Thailand a Full member. Such nations will get only 1 vote (their Cricket boards can vote on behalf of the women's Cricket only) while other Full members will have 2 votes (their Cricket boards can vote on behalf of both men's & women's Cricket) except Afghanistan (their Cricket board can vote on behalf of their men's Cricket only). 4) No ICC sanctions for domestic tournaments other than First Class Cricket & Limited Overs Cricket with Innings of 20 Overs & above. So no ICC sanctions for t10, 100, 60, 6s, etc. Cricket boards can organise any kind of Cricket domestically to introduce the game to new communities, kids, etc. They can even allow Underarm Bowling for little kids (pre teens or below 10 yrs old) just learning to pick up Bat & Ball. But all boards will have to accept there are only 3 Official International formats of the game & they'll be required to prepare their Cricketers in those 3 formats if they're expected to represent their nation in International Cricket. 5) More funding to Cricket boards with homegrown talent. Homegrown will mean Cricketers who were born & grew up there or grew up there since childhood, learnt their Cricket in that country itself (instead of their country of birth which is often a traditional Cricket Nation) & have represented only that country in International Cricket (as opposed to those who represent a traditional Cricket Nation in junior Cricket but don't get selected for senior team, then they manage to get selected for an Associate Nation & start representing a new nation in Cricket). Regular fundings won't be reduced but for countries with homegrown talent the funding will be increased. 6) 24 teams T20WC (with aim to increase in the near future). All Full members will be automatically qualified but they'll still be required to enter their regional qualifiers. Even if a Full member loses every single match in those qualifiers they'll still not lose their World Cup spot but the Associate nations beating a Full member in these qualifiers will get bonus points which will be helpful in qualifying for the World Cup & improving their T20I rankings as the matches will be all official T20Is. Regional qualifying spots will be: North America (1), South America (1), Europe (2), Africa (2), Asia (3) & East Asia Pacific (2). A Final global qualifier will be for the 12th spot between 6 teams (1 from each region) that came close to qualifying in their regional qualifiers. All T20WC bids will require an Associate co-host too. But 2 or 3 Associate nations can also jointly bid for a T20WC. 7) Make Cricket available in multiple languages in non Anglophonic countries. When such teams qualify for any big ICC event then translators will be made available for press conferences unless the teams bring their own translators. 8) Rename Champions Trophy as ODI World Cup. It'll be a 10 or 8 teams elite ODI tournament which many top Full members & especially broadcasters & sponsors prefer. The current World Cup will be transformed into a dual format tournament. There'll be 32 teams, Group stage will be in T20I format, then Knockout rounds will be in ODI format. 9) Every Cricketer can sign contracts with maximum 2 domestic limited overs leagues. Any Cricketer playing for more than 2 will not be allowed in ICC events. 10) Do something about the whole copyrights problem. Make it easy for fans to create content that'll do the promotion of the game making things for national & regional boards a bit easier to promote the game among people who never heard of it before. There are probably more I can think of but 10 is already a lot. Of course none of it will likely happen in reality.

What I will change in leagues is Player contract system.. Player contracts system should be similar to football clubs.. A player should play for only 1 league in a season. This will create space for new players.. And teams should get reward for scouting and player development like football club get. This will encourage teams to scout for players and to train them .. Problem with this is lack of quality/ star players available now. So ICC can start with 3 big boards. Bbl IPL & blast. Because only aus & eng can compete with IPL as of now. (Aus & eng have great domestic tallent and there currency exchange rate is high)

Let me talk on the points that you've made - 1) I understand what you are saying here. But it's okay to be different. Cricket do not have to follow football or other sports. Even sometimes I feel strange with only blue and green jersey. But its fine. Having one jersey is unique to cricket , something should be maintained. 2) I detest 3rd place playoff in other sports. Even many football coaches has called out this as inconsequential match. Teams play for World Cup not 3rd place - a sentiment many coaches and captains have stated. With respect to Olympics , they have to award bronze medal to a team, so I understand the need. IPL 2010 tried that but very few people watched it even in stadium. 3) As far as KO matches go, we had QF and SF. I don't think we can have more than that. We only have 12 Full members. Only 8-9 members play regularly. If they get knocked out in say last 32 or last 16 stage then ICC will not be able to earn revenue, people are not going to watch matches. Football teams have lot of fans. Even if their team loses in Last 32 or Pre Q/F , people are going to watch all the matches still. That do not happen in cricket. IND and PAK got knocked out in 2007 WC group stage , it had fewer viewing. 4) We're going to have 20 teams T20 WC. I think there should be 15 team ODI WC, 5 teams divided into 3 groups with top 2 going into super sixes. 5) ODI WC has a legacy. CT doesn't. T20WC doesn't. Even Gautam Gambhir said he doesn't remember winners of T20 WC. If you win ODI WC it is seen with pride. CT and T20WC is seen as other ICC events. As far as its validity goes , 2031 WC might just be the last one. 6) T20 WC in 4 years is a good concept which even I endorse too but the problem is ICC earns through ICC events only not by bilateral. Conducting once in 2 years allow them to earn more. Making it the main WC - I don't know how it is going to happen. A lot of that depends on public perception too. 7) Junior ICC events-- I do not have much opinion on that. I don't think much will change. BAN U-19 easily defeat AUS U-19 but we hardly see its impact in international level. Same goes in football. Can't say about other sports. 8) With regards to this, I don't have much to say. If teams tomorrow field same players in both the events I don't have a problem. FIFA told IOC that they will filed U-23 players in Olympics by that FIFA WC will remain main event. If you see Tennis , players play Grand Slam and Olympics too yet the focus of players and audience is Grand Slam. So I don't know how it will turn out for cricket. 9) Tri nation or multi lateral series do not happen for simple reason that non native team matches are not watched by the viewers. That was why AUS tri series declined. They needed IND to be the third team. I understand declining interest in bilateral series but teams need it if not for money but for cricket experience. 10) There was Champions League Twenty20 between 2008 - 2014. It didn't work very well with the audience. They had to increase IPL teams upto 4 inorder to increase interest. Still it didn't work. India hosted 4 out of 5 editions and yet it didn't work. There will also be conflict of interest. If the final is played between MI v MI Capetown, the Ambanis will simply choose the best player for MI instead of capetown. ICC is under BCCI so they cannot do much. There also is a chance of fixing in such matches.

I don't agree with more knock out stage and I used to hate it. Because while small teams can get into higher positions, there might be a lot of deserving strong teams that are deserved to be in those higher positions but unfortunately couldn't. For example, what if best and 2nd best team are in quarters, who all deserved to be in the final. Also, in the last part on "ICC CLT20" the change I want in your point is that ICC should make some rules on naming the teams so that it doesn't mess up playing against each other and secondly, about players' preference for Playing the team of his choice: in that case, two/three things can happen: ICC should restrict players for not playing more than 2/3 franchise leagues or Leagues should start to bid for long-term central contracts for playing for just them or ICC should host the global Auction for players where teams can select players to play for them in ICC Champions league". ( at least the top 2 teams of every league should participate in ICC CLT20.)

Some points I would like to add 1. With regards to your point on Jerseys. It's actually a good point. But ICC would be most likely forced to adopt colored clothing even in Test Cricket killing the tradition. 2. With regards to your point on more knockout matches. When there are 24 teams, you can only have quarterfinal, semi final and final after group stages. Unlike Football it would be tough to have round of 16. 3. With regards to the segment where you said include more teams, you referred to Japan as West Asia Pacific. It's actually East Asia Pacific. Also, in Cricket North and South America are counted as one single continent. 4. With regards to replacing World Cup with CT. I don't agree with you on this. Every format needs a World Cup. So WTC, T20 WC & ODI WC should continue. 5. With regards to more Junior World Cups. In Rugby Union there was only one Junior World Cup. They just changed the age criteria multiple times. Also Cricket had 3 U15 World Cups played till date. And at U17 we have only seen Asia Cups. 6. With regards to your point on No bilateral series. I would not completely agree. But I would say reduce the number of matches in bilaterals and play them only during one window. 7. With regards to Champions League. MI owned teams that play in 4 countries are treated as 4 different teams. Just like how Manchester City FC, Mumbai City FC & NYCFC are treated as seperate teams. So there's no issue with that. Also UAE & USA are not full members and the scores from these leagues are not even counted in official T20 stats. So except the 12 full members, I don't see teams from any other country playing Champions League if it happens. Also there have been 3 attempts before to have a Club World Cup before. First one in 2001 in One day format named Champions Cup. Then the International Club T20 Championship in 2005 and CLT20 from 2005 - 09. The first 2 failed because of lack of TV coverage and star players. 3rd one failed because if a player had more than 1 team qualifying he would play for an IPL team creating a monopoly among IPL franchises. So the best way this could be brought back is to make players stick to just one format and one franchise just like other sports.

I love having 16 team odi world cup. That looks so perfect as a lot of upcoming teams deserve to be in wc, unlike 10 team champions-trophy bs 💀. But 24 team for t20 wc is imo too much. 20 is almost maximum amount of good playing nations. I feel that for the time being, 20 is right. I don't agree with South America having a separate slot in wc. Argentina /Brazil is still no way near good to be in the wc. There could be some other stronger team which could be in wc but couldn't get into because of this slot.

I think ICC should use Day limitations in Franchise cricket like everyplayer can only play 60-90 day that's mean He can only play 2-3 leagues in a year and also to do that He need to play A certain number of domestic/First class Or International cricket(Like in a year 40 T20, 25 ODI and 15Test match) . I think as far as champions league is concerned we shoul have 2 teams from top 8 teams and for the next 8 spots we should have qualifications round this will add teams and knockout formt ....as far as players it should be on their priorty and if one.player withdraw it from his side them that side should add player from assosiate team and there should max of 2 -3 forengers ...teams names is nit the big issue their real name emartes mumbai cape town is diffrent ....lastly champions league should be in multiple countries i.e two teams from.same league playing in one part and other teams in other part in that way there will be home and away.matches for example sdney and perth made their group with ipl psl and sat20nteam and they are playing in austrailia.and other group team.consistnl of uae sides with etc are playing and knockouts like final or semi should be in the iconic place like Melbourne,london,,Dubai,qatar,ahmedabad,lords,sdney,etc

Champions League pehele hua karta tha lekin, woh flop ho gaya. So, i don't think ICC will experiment it. ICC World Cup ko T20 format se replace karna is a good suggestion. ODI format ke liye sirf champions Trophy ho, ye bhi acha hai fir 16 teams doesn't make any sense. It is my opinion. ODI Cup ya Champions Trophy mai 10 yaa 12 teams hone chahiye. I also don't want, that super six and super 8 system, better bring round of 16 in World Cup as there will be 24 teams in World Cup. U21 World Cup is also good idea. Multi nation tournament should be in T20 format only. WTC should go as it is but still i think there must 8 series 4 home and 4 away of three test match series 3×8= 24. Cricket in Olympics, i am not quite sure about it, if you know about hong Kong super six format, it can work there, only 6 overs and six players smaller grounds and no need to develop cricket infrastructure as it can be played anywhere. But, as I say i am not sure about it. At last, MCC has already requested the number of ODIs in future so ODI Cup or Champions Trophy will work or not. I doubt.
