If it wasn't for that feud with Bret and the Hart foundation from survivor series 96 to the summer of 97. I truly believe Stone Cold wouldn't be who he is today. Universally considered one of, if not the greatest superstar in WWF/WWE history and a well deserved member of the hall of fame 🤷🏽‍♂️. These two help make the new generation and early stages of the attitude era worth watching in my opinion 👌

Every time I watched Brett, whether performing in the ring or outside of the ring, I remember always having this thought of "wait, is this really happening. or is this part of the show"? I can't recall ever feeling that way with another wrestler. The fact that, to this day, people still debate whether or not the Montreal screw job was real or fake tells me that Brett is the best. Even when he went on shows like Mad TV and act like he was breaking character and going off on the actors. Classic Brett.

Bret made me think that pro-wrestling was real. I cried everytime Bret loses. I always show them his matches to convince people that it was real. Nothing compared to pro-wrestling after Bret. Everything is just a plain soap opera.

Then lost his brother probably , his closes brother from a stupid stunt that should of never happen , and also broke his family up. Thats what really pisses me off.. you know, HBK stole Bret goodbye. Bret was a company man for so long that all he wanted from Vince was at the end to say goodbye to his fans and that he loves them. But its like Hunter instagated everyone to botch his goodbye into a screwjob and let HBK have some moment with the fans before leaving that really belonged to Bret. Now ppl thank HBK like "Thank you for everything you did for wrestling" as if screwing Bret saved the wwe.. what a bunch of dramatic bullsh*ters.. they knew Bret was never gonna show up on wcw with the title. He came from a family of wrestlers. Thats the most disrespectful thing you can do. Bret would give it back before going. He is a stand up dude with integrity. I honestly didn't expect Bret Hart to talk about Goldberg, considering that Goldberg is the current Universal champ and Vince might not like Bret burying him in an interview right before WM. I was happily wrong. Not that I dislike Goldberg but I do appreciate Bret's brutal honesty and his dgaf attitude. Easily one of my favorite Broken Skull Sessions.

Plot twist: the Montreal screwjob is actually the longest-running work in kayfabe. It was one of the building blocks of the attitude era which was the most successful time. Bret Hart is a perfectionist and will not break kayfabe and he will take it to his grave 😂

I'm a huge Bret Hart fan but it's sad to see that after all these years he still is very reluctant to admit he holds some responsibility in things going bad in WWF. Btw was I the only one to notice how Steve talked about the injury he suffered at Owens hands, being just a bad day at the office. And yet Bret slammed Goldberg about the head kick. With Bret knowing that Owen never apologized to Steve for what happened and Bill has said a number of times he feels bad about the Bret match.

Bret hitman Hart is my favourite and the greatest wrestler of all time I love it when we here the likes of Stonecold, rock, shamrock, Legion of doom, bam bam Bigelow, vader, xpac, undertaker, roddy piper, Dean ambrose, kevin Owens, dustin rhodes, roman reigns, arhmed Johnson, kevin nash, bushwackers to name a few all had good to say about him even triple h said at one point during the bret Hart era is more than a nod to how great the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be, is my childhood hero when I never had a role model I turned the TV on and there he was I truly think his a good genuine guy and because of him I like to think I am too thankyou for the memories and the realism you brought to the ring bret

@@AmateurBarbarian I have /was a fan from late 70's. The only way to get info back then was PWI . Around 2005 started to lose interest. Try to watch every few months and cannot get into it anymore 😞

Funny that bret wasn't motivated for WM13 match considering it might be the best match of all time from a hindsight perspective given what it did for Stone Cold and how it was another essential stepping stone on the way to the Attitude Era.

Because Bret Hart may be a safe wrestler, but he was trained in the Hart Dungeon where they do learn how to take some rough housing and how to fight for real too. People even forget Undertaker knows Brazilian Jujitsu and Boxing. Not every wrestler needed a policeman

Nice video, thanks WhatCulture. A bit over a month ago, I finally did a trial of WWE Network. I watched a couple things that I could easily find but I did not like the interface and very little, if anything, came up in my searches within that interface. I was searching for older shows, matches, promos, etc from both wwf & nwa/wcw. I figured they no longer had the content or they didn't want me to find it so I cancelled within 2 hours. Archived content was really the only selling point for me, personally.

Okay, first he says he hit Vnnie Mac with a "Mike Tyson uppercut" now it's a punch in the eye! Sheesh, I know strokes can mess with memory but this is ridiculous! Has Shawn Michaels ever said EXACTLY what he said to Bret on that occasion? I'd like to hear his side of the story for a change. Bruce Prichard claimed it was more like "I appreciate that but if I was in your shoes, I wouldn't put you over!" which sounds like a backhanded compliment as opposed to the outright refusal that Bret claims!
