Regarding the removal of sticky price tags... sometimes after removing the sticker you're left with that annoying gummy residue still stuck / smeared on the item. My trick is to simply use a small spray of oven cleaner... wait a minute or two, and it cleanly wipes right off. Using products like Goo-Gone or similar leaves behind a greasy feel and a gasoline-like odor... the oven cleaner leaves nothing. Oven cleaner works best for gummy residue on metal, plastics, glass, and ceramics. I wouldn't use it on wood, cardboard, or paper items as it'll just soak in. I hope this tip helps others! 😁👍

Merry Christmas, thanks for sharing. I would suggest a new seller buy a scale with a corded (detachable) screen. So when you have a box on the scale you can easily see the weight.

My tip is for people who sell plush and hats, mostly for people working out of a storage unit. I hung a lightweight hammock from the wire ceiling for the plush and clothes lines and clothes pins to hang the hats so I could utilize all the space above the areas that don't have shelving (above my shipping and photography areas as well as above the walkways) I had that would usually not be usable. Also I added a similar bubble wrap holder like yours to mine as well.

I use brown packaging tape when I wrap bubble wrap items. Makes it easier for the buyer to see and remove. I also save big flat sections of cardboard boxes. ( I do collision repair) I always come across big boxes. And if needed I make my own size boxes. I also like to use gummed tape with a dispenser. Very nice tool to have. It’s water active tape. You dial the machine to what size tape you need pull the lever and cuts the tape to the size you selected. One last tip I forgot to post. On eBay custom label I put the location of the item, how much I paid for the item.

I use a measuring tape and photograph the measurements of items in my pictures. Not all clothing brands have the same measurements for a size. I've found that out from my purchases and when I started selling, I didn't want buyers to get something too small.

Photo Prop Hack: when I film hollow items like purses, tall boots and hats (before I had a foam head) I would use a ball or wad of void fill brown crumple paper to fill out the item to make it stand up in the photos. I think all such items look better without the “slouch” that happens when tall boots fold over or purses lay limp. When I’m done with that group of pics, I use that paper for packing and grab another next time I take photos. Another great video guys!

Goo Gone applied with a Q-tip is good for stickers on plastic like the game case, glass, books with shiny covers; it's greasy so can't be used on paper, cloth, etc. I like the other Scotty tool for some things, the metal one that's thinner.

Nail polish remover on a Qtip works too. Its active ingredient is the same as what they use in hospitals to remove residue from patients who have had a lot of bandages stuck to them for long periods of time.

Acetone is often the main ingredient in Nail Polish remover. Buy larger cans in the paint dept, it’s often cheaper then Polish Remover. For the Goo Gone style products some are citrus based and seem to cause less damage then those that are chemical solvent based.

PRICE TAG REMOVAL: Greetings Candace & Lonnie, I have been selling for over 30 years and the way I remove price stickers is by using lighter fluid. Squirt a bit on the price tag and let it set for about a minute, then you can use the little plastic spoon like you have or I just use my fingernail and remove it slowly and if there is some sticky residue squirt a bit more on that and rub it around with your finger and wipe with toilet paper or some soft material and let it dry, it will evaporate in just a few minutes! PLEASE keep in mind if the tag is very old it may not come off! You may damage the item, in over 30 years I have only messed up less than 10 items. It happens! I mainly use this method to remove tags from LP Records, but I use it on all kind of items! You just need to use your better judgement and decide if you want to take the chance! The main point is to TAKE YOUR TIME and work slowly for the best results... Thank you for your content!

Scotty Peeler: as an alternative to the Scotty Peeler, I often use a Single Edge loose Razor Blade to do the same job. I opt for the style that is rectangular and fits into the common utility scraper. They are very thin, so they slide under the label easier then a Scotty peeler, when used at a low angle. They are made with 1 sharp edge and the backside has been thickened, making them easier to hold. They can be used in the scraper tool, but I tend to just use them loose and keep them on hand near my heat gun and Goo Off.

We used to sell them ourselves but can no longer find a good source at a decent price. I've linked one on amazon that is a good deal if you have Prime. Thanks so much for watching - Lonnie

We have it going under so that it hangs down against the wall and not over the edge in the way. I hope you had a merry Christmas!

Hello from Wisconsin. I enjoy your videos and like the useful tips you present. I'm an under 300 items seller on Ebay. I recently had a buyer contact me 20 days after delivery(Christmas evening)of a ceramic dish with lid to tell me he opened it and was damaged. Priority Mail insurance was applied to the package. I told him to file an insurance claim with USPS. About 12 hours later comes the negative feedback. What would you do? It was only a $25 sale. My positive feedback(seller name "spuick") greatly outweighs the negative.

Your buyer cannot file an insurance claim with USPS, You need to file the claim, after you provide a refund to your buyer.

We would refund and file the insurance claim ourselves. Make sure you get good pics of the damage from the buyer.

I am very new to eBay, and I'm wondering why you put your merchandise on the shelf unpackaged? Don't you have to weigh it in the box? I've been learning how to eBay from a lot of people, and I've noticed no one has their merchandise already packaged. Why?
@shedflips

A couple of reasons. If a potential buyer has a question about an item, we don't have to unpack it to verify any info we give them. Also, I feel it's best to lay eyes on the item one last time before it's shipped.

This is Lonnie - the main reason we don't pre-package items is that it would take up a LOT more space, like 3-4x.
