I thought about contacting a seller once about an item they called vintage. I knew it wasn't vintage because I know the brand really well, but I didn't say anything and regret it.

eBay Shipping Page Change: that is very strange and a good catch by the Water Cooler. Strange change. Like you, I’ve always just rounded up to 4, 8, 12 &. 16 ounces. I’ll have to watch as I pack this week. Please update if you figure out who made the change: eBay or USPS. Could just be a glitch by Pitney Bowes putting in the 14 July USPS software changes. 😉

Another big change with ebay is cubic inch rate. I have to really watch what size box i grab now when shipping out orders. Cutting the box down just a couple inches can save $10. Its crazy!

I use Shipstation and they allow the 15.9 oz.

In the beginning of the video, you were looking at retail rates. If you look at commercial rates you'll see different prices for the 15.9 / 1lb weights. Btw, on eBay, if you put in 15oz for a 15.9oz package, the USPS isn't going to do a shipping rate adjustment because you will have paid sufficient postage. You'd only hear from the USPS if you underpaid.

I have sent out messages to other sellers that they listed the wrong version. I've also had messages telling me my listing is the wrong version. I had a bunch of bakugans and someone helped me understand the difference and how collectible one is compared to the other.

Great score on the books and kits! That Testor's AMX kit is good for $100 at least. That was made from Johan's Shirley Shahan's super stock AMX molds that kit is an easy $100. Johan went out of business and all their kits bring big bucks! A lot of the Revell kits didn't have plastic bags back in the day. Most Revell kits there will be a date on one of the parts in the kit. Check the date on that Drag nut kit if the number on the end has a H prefix its an older kit. The Revell kit numbers H-300-149 (example) the last number 149 was the price. Those extra red eyes could be sold on ebay as original....$10? Have fun!

I did a lot of shipping this weekend and UPS beat out USPS prices 50% of the time (usually ship 95% through USPS). USPS is getting pricey. A lot of increases for 1-4lbs

I noticed the weight thing yesterday. It's frustrating because it is under a pound, but you aren't supposed to say 15oz! 🤔

I sell glassware and sometimes mis-identify items. Passionate collectors are wonderful about informing me of my mistake and I am happy to be able to then make the correction to the listing.

14:32 minutes in... when another reseller reaches out to "correct" me on a listing... I have received about 1/2 dozen over the years and I have been so GRATEFUL! They were kind enough to reach out and spend a moment of their time and wisdom for me. I haven't returned a similar favor only because I haven't needed to do so.

Fairly often I find myself messaging eBay sellers, mostly about errors in their listings which I feel could lead to an INAD or buyer scam. Most often, they essentially tell me to get lost/they know what they're doing. But occasionally, like the last couple of times... they write back/thanking me, and immediately make changes in the listing!

I buy all but eBay international postage on Pirate Ship as it’s easy to put on my business credit card where I earn cash back.

When you're explaining you can't put in 15.7 ounces it says on that screen right under use whole numbers so 13.3oz would be 14oz, been like that a while.

Did it last week. Ebayer had something listed. Wrong company, wrong country even. Let her know how to read the backstamp and she was really grateful. Often it’s how you couch it. I was all airy “ hi there, I’m about the post this myself and I noticed……. Blah blah blah. We sellers gotta look out for each other, don’t want a nastygram from eBay eh”

14:25 I usually contact sellers when I notice mistakes in their listings (while looking for comps as I list my items) and most of the time I get a nice answer. I won't contact them if I notice that their feedback is terrible :) Cheers, Julien

I know back in the 70s plastic models were sealed. I know this because back then I was a kid and I would sometimes sneakily open a kit I wanted so I could look over the instructions. Never at the hobby shop. I only did this dishonest move at K-Mart and Gemco, a membership chain of stores in southern California that sold everything. They were like a Walmart Supercenter, but a lot more awesome.

I’ve had sellers and buyers reach out to me when I try to sell an electronic toy that relies on an App to let me know the App is no longer available and the toy is basically useless…..

The postal rate increases just went into effect. It affected eBay's negotiated terms for shipping rates with USPS. This is part of the results of that.

I have been contacted by other sellers when I’ve made a mistake in my listing and I’ve always been grateful! And I even once asked a seller about their listing that didn’t match the photos. They also thanked me. Intent matters I think. If you’re trying to help it comes across a lot different than when you’re just being an a$$.

This was updated shortly after they added Ground Advantage. In the past First Class Mail is that 1oz-15.999 otherwise had to go to Priority Shipping.. They then combined First Class into Ground Advantage along with new Cubic Rate for things 1lb or higher so also make sure the dimensions of your box are correct on anything 1lb or higher. eBay may have updated their interface to better show this information since it was about a few months ago I noticed Cubic Rate being show on labels over 1lb where as before it showed weight.

I do message sellers if I notice a mistake. But only if it’s something that potentially get a negative. I want everyone to succeed on eBay. And I like to help if I notice something they possibly missed. 95% of the time they’re appreciative but of course there are those few people that of course think you’re trying to get one over on them.

Remember when dealing with people online: many can barely read if at all and some went on the short bus.

Sometimes it feels like eBay executives are in a smoke filled room scheming how to screw sellers without the sellers noticing their being screwed. 😕
