Hey there! Love your video ❤ really interesting and helping us! We are coming to Sri Lanka in November and would like to stay long term, I saw you saying it’s not ideal to apply for 1 month visa then extend there as it cost 100$ more, so how did you do yours? did you apply for 190 days Visa through online straight away then? Hii!! I have been traveling with a backpack and loved staying at hostels! But I do think it could not be the best accomodation for you if you are carrying a lots of stuff! My advice is to give it a try for the first few nights to meet more travelers and see how you like it! You can always change :) There are tons of other options and still very affordable, even if you are booking last minute!! Good luck! Enjoy this beautiful island! Safe travels! Cheers, Miriam

I plan to travel to Sri Lanka, alone as well! But I know people in Sri Lanka. I am still a little worried about traveling there. I have never left my Country of Canada. I wonder if you get a private room in the hostel or is a dorm style environment? 🤔 I can't wait to go to beautiful Sri Lanka!! ❤🇱🇰❤🇨🇦❤

People in SL will help you as you are a female especially they'd try to help if you need any help. But as in anywhere else there are scammers in SL too so just don't get too close to anyone at the very first moment you meet. It is better to keep your stuff safe always if you are carrying valuable stuff probably you should get a 3-4 star hotel with safety deposit boxes. For travelling I'd recommend using PickMe or Uber rather than random tuk tuks for short rides.

Wait Miriam Thailand requires a yellow fever vaccine if you are coming there from Sri Lanka? I looked this up and don't see that anywhere. Sri Lanka isn't listed as one of the countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission.

WHEN YOU VISIT GOVERNMENT OFFICES IN SRI LANKA, EXACTLY EVERYTHING IS SLOW; IF YOU NEED THEM TO BE FAST, PAY THEM SOME AMOUNT. THEN ONLY WORK HAPPENS IN SRI LANKA IF YOU HAVE MONEY.

6:40 May I ask what is the reason you say you are scared to ride in a scooter? Cos when you say you're scared don't you think that you need to have some proof of some bad experience to back it up? or else you are just making people worried for no reason and discouraging people don't you think? 🤔

Hi!! Sorry if appeared that way! My intention is actually the opposite! I encourage people driving a scooter in Srilanka since it's the best way to move around! But as I explained in the video I never drove a scooter before coming to Srilanka and found it hard to start in Srilanka with its traffic and different rules than my home country!:) Cheers, Miriam
