I was born in this paradise island, Sri Lanka. Then left for UK 20 years ago. Now my heart says it was a big mistake. The cold weather and the relentless stress are having a detrimental impact on my health. Hopefully I will soon return to by beloved Sri Lanka.

Just got back from Sri Lanka. I was born there and now live in Canada. Will touch base with you the next time I visit in a couple of years. It is truly paradise. I pray that this beautiful country and it's people will stand tall in spite of the way it is right now.

I use to love when it rained in Sri Lanka, I would take a chair outside and take it all in. When the rain touches the grass and dry soil. it gives a very woody feeling that even as an adult, I long for. Sadly, we immigrated somewhere else, and seeing the country I was born in, makes me want to love it more.

I lived in Uk for 25 years , and now my mind is turning back to embrace with nature of this country, thank you for the better social media who brings beauty of this country to our door step . Funny enough, I didn’t have same feeling those days , I guess everyone has go abroad to understand this country , then they will back with good thoughts about this country, I’m here for short time now and be back soon for goods .

Just went there for 3 weeks. Fun. Way better than India, but the Sri Lankan food on Japan is way better. I was surprised.

I'm delighted you had the chance to experience the country. Initially, I used a spoon, but now I eat like a local, with my hand, savoring all the flavors, and truly enjoy their cuisine. At first, I struggled with the spice level, but gradually I adapted and even passed a friend's test to become Sri Lankan by eating a whole tablespoon of pure chili itself. 😁

The quality of food has decreased with time and worsened because of the recent economic crisis. Unless you eat at expensive restaurants or at five star hotels you will not get the same quality Lankan food you get abroad sadly.

There are many things we can do for this country now, even as individuals, and shape a better future, focusing on all great things this country has to offer such as diverse culture, natural beauty, and community resilience. I hope that with time, our collective efforts will act as a force for positive developments, paving the way for a brighter future in this country.
