I think he mentioned they were new to Aldi. I’ve been shopping there ever since they came to my town and have never seen them. Actually pretty much everything in the 2-2 1/2 aisles set aside for the home section are limited to the Wednesday they go onto the shelves to the following Wednesday when the stock is switched out. Whatever didn’t get sold is marked down and I’m not sure how long it stays out. If you missed something you wanted you can probably count on it not being available for another year. That’s not a hard and fast rule it’s just something I’ve noticed. Another thing I’ve learned about Aldi…if you see something you want get it. Stuff “flys off the shelves” like Matt said and you can just about count on it not being available until STNY (same time next year).

I actually spent so much time researching this and ended up purchasing two clamp work lights from Menards and some great plant light bulbs from Amazon for equivalent pricing. The grow lights shown in this video are LED, so they should last around 50,000 hours (over 2000 continuous days of running the light). Yes, eventually they’ll burn out, but maybe we’ll have invented something even better by then 😂
@buffalodrummergirl
@buffalodrummergirl 3 ай бұрын
In theory, that's the right idea. Except LED lights are so incredibly unhealthy! It's possible to do more harm than good. Better to get incandescent or halogen bulbs for light therapy.

@@buffalodrummergirl I believe you’re mixing up LED lights and LCD screens with too much blue spectrum light. You can get LED lights with high color accuracy (closer to natural sunlight than halogen), flicker-free, and even warm tinted like incandescent lights (or with low blue light output). Buuuuut these lights here probably are more optimal for plant growth than light treatment.

Agreed on a bigger pot and MiracleGro… potting soil usually has rich nutrients when you first plant in it, but after plants start to get going we need to replenish nutrients to those pots once every month or two. I've had one plant in my lifetime that was pretty much indestructible. A money plant!! I got mine from Ikea, but occasionally they have them at Aldi. As long as you give it sunlight and water it at least once a week, it will grow like a weed. Mine was just a tiny sprig and it was at least 4 times the size in a year. It kept growing so much so that I had to re-pot it multiple times. It was the size of a shrub by the time I gave it away.

Parts of the dairy and frozen sections have had empty shelves all too often for months now. I'm gonna need to take a look at that toolbag as that's an amazing price and I love that it has a carry bag. I don't do any heavy projects, just putting together furniture and hanging curtains, lol. Don't need anything super fancy (unless it's for the car, but even then, I usually just shop at Walmart). Also, all the Asian/Asian inapired foods looked delicious. Curious about the Mongolian beef. And lastly, you gave me a great idea. I need side tables for my couch and wanted something circular (to break up all of the squares with the couch, TV stand, and my current ottoman, which is a huge rectangle). Why not use small ottomans? They're usually circular and if they have a lid like what you showed, they can double as storage for a blanket. Boom, two for the price of one 😊 Oh, and I also saw that $25 Sam's Club deal from groupon! My mom told me about it. I live alone and hesitated to buy a membership for such a store, but at such a low price, I figured it was worth trying it out. My mom and I visited there recently and something I really love is that you can checkout without waiting in line. Just scan your items and show the receipt on your phone at the door. My mind was blown 😅

FABULOUS 🎉. I get a check tomorrow morning and tomorrow I’m going to Aldi. My list is now complete and I’m gonna grab quite a few things from my granddaughter’s 7th Birthday. Magnificent Shopping Spree Thanks Matt.

Snake plant (Sansevieria) Are an easy plant option. Minimal watering, little to no light needed. I'm horrible with plants, but have kept one alive for years!

The string pull chopper is an awesome gadget for parents that have children starting out foods. Great for baby led weaning foods and easy to clean and travel with on vacation or visiting family. Much love from New Hampshire!

Went to ALDIs after watching your video. Purchased the baseball cap device. Have to say you need to use twist ties because it opens during the washing. The fire/water proof safe and the garbage disposal cleaner (got the last one). Thanks!!!

Rubber plant or snake plant. We have those and just leave it. Doesn't need much watering too.

Hi Matt! Another great video as always! I recommend a Sansevieria (sp?) Also known as Snake plant and or Mother-in-laws tongue 😅 Grows very well in low light situations & basically hard to kill 😂 my grandmother always had these plants 😊 I think it would look very cool in that bamboo planter! Have a great weekend 🙂

Great suggestion! Another nearly indestructable plant with a vining look is Pothos, especially the solid green or gold-marbled forms. I had one in a literally windowless office lit only by institutional fluorescent ceiling lights, and it "lived long and prospered."

I bought the black metal shelf and the air filters last week. They were both an excellent buy. The shelf was a challenge for me to assemble by myself but I did it and I am so pleased with it. Fits great in my storage shed.

Well, that was disappointing. We don't have Aldi in Canada, but I have an American friend who's coming to visit me in two weeks. I was hoping he could bring me one of those window vacuums, but after searching half of Wisconsin via the Aldi's website, it seems that window vacs are just a pipe dream 😭😭😭😭😭

They were flying off the shelf here Wednesday morning. Opens at 9am, I was there about 10:30. Eight on the shelf, I grabbed one, read the box, put it in my cart. Looked at more items in the aisle, looked up and the shelf was empty. 😮 Sorry you missed out.

@@laregimbal Hello! If you don't mind, I'll repost a reply I wrote earlier today. If you have any further questions, just ask. (I follow a few KZfaq Neighbors to the North and from what they say, Canadian Tire will be my first stop if I've ever fortunate to visit Canada again.) Aldi is a small-footprint grocery store carrying mostly private label foods plus a smattering of name brands. They carry what I'd guess is 80% of what most people buy in a week. Cookies, crackers, bread/bakery, snacks, produce, dairy, deli, fresh meat, frozen food, canned goods, boxed goods, laundry, baby, personal care, coffee/tea, wine. Their claim to fame is no frills. Most items are in those short cardboard box bottoms (warehouse style), requires a quarter deposit to use a cart and bag your own groceries or self-checkout. That said, there's a nice variety for the space but it's one brand. So canned beans: navy, black, pinto, kidney, garbanzo, cannellini, baked beans but only their brand. Produce (mostly) and meat is prepackaged. They have gluten-free, organic and plant-based items. Awesome European chocolates and German specialties (where they started). Three weeks out of four I can do all my grocery shopping here. They pack a lot into the stores but it's almost always just one brand. IMHO just as good or better than name brands. Prices are reliably lower and 100% no fuss guarantee. Don't like it? bring it back and they hand you the cash. Matt covers the new offerings in food or the 'finds' aka Aisle of Shame where the housewares/gadgets/clothing/random stuff shows up. Mostly decent quality and limited offerings. I have too much stuff as it is so I don't bother too much but I've scored some fantastic deals. The store is really so much more but his focus has to be the new stuff to keep the videos fresh. Folks either love it or they don't and those who do are loyal and a little rabid about it, me included. Hope this helps and hoping they expand to your area. If you're on a road trip and see one, stop in. Take a quarter
