My grandfather always said to keep a tin can with a waterproof bag of matches, a candle and some type of blanket, he has used these many times, he almost froze to death in Colorado but the combo is just enough to keep you from freezing to death, he made a fire and cooked trout with the can when his battery died when he was all alone, when he witnessed a terribly gruesome traffic accident, he covered an “unalive” person with the blanket till paramedics arrived, in every one of my vehicles, i have kept those items just in case

A guy I worked with once pointed out that a can or even two of fix a flat will not inflate a tire that's flat on the ground. He recommended a small floor jack(and a board to put it on) . Wal mart and home depot both have affordable options. Also ,rechargeable flashlights that also take batteries are a good idea. Make sure you have the proper cord.

Just thought of another one that seems really dumb... Tie-straps!! There is NO EXCUSE to not strap down your cargo.. $20 gets you a four-pack of 1000# ratchet straps. In Starbucks math, that's one drink per strap. I've seen far too many sheets or plywood, lumber, ladders, mattresses and couches on the freeway to count.. Strap it down!! Add one more strap, it won't kill you...... But could save the person behind you!

I agree, what the hell does that mean? 😂 I've studied for 4 years at college to be a homeowner. So after I work at Walmart, because no one will hire you with a homeowner degree, I'll be able to professionally own a home in 20 years

Australian here. You need: more water, a fixed blaed full tang knife, a hammock, a space blanket, a car battery jump starter, a towel or at least a neck gaiter, and zip ties.

Have had all that for decades. I managed to escape the Army with my original E tool. I like Nebo lights. Rechargeable, and bright. I also recommend a pack of ratchet traps, and a hatchet.

Cody do you have a preference on the leather for the gloves? I hear deer is good for stacking wood and cow is good for using tools, but wanted to know your opinions.

Boy, you're right about that Leatherman. I have the original Supertool and I don't let it out of my sight. My buddy send his in to have work done on it and they sent him back a "newer model" as replacement. Big bummer for him but a lesson for me about their unwillingness to make new replacement parts of the old models.
