Hey guys and welcome to another video! 10 Things You Should Know About FINAL FANTASY VIII.
10: Making Money: Making money in Final Fantasy VIII is incredibly easy. This can be done within the first 10 hours of the game when you receive Carbuncle. By learning Carbuncles "Recovery Med-RF" ability, players can convert Tents and Cottages into Mega-Potions which can be sold for 5000 gil each. Buying 20 tents will cost you 20000 gil, converting them into Mega-Potions and selling them will make you 25000. 5000 gil profit in about 20 seconds. Buying 20 Cottages will cost you 36000 gil, converted into Mega-Potions and selling them will make you 50000 gil. 14000 gil profit in 20 seconds.
9: In FF8 the enemy levels scale with the current parties average level give or take 20%. So say you have 3 characters in your party at level 30, that would mean that your average party level is 30 and the enemies you face will be 20% higher or lower than level 30. With this in mind, it is wise to either keep your levels low, OR create 2 parties. 1 with high level characters so you can face higher levelled enemies that drop better items and have higher level magic to draw, and 1 with low levelled characters to face low levelled enemies to get certain item drops not available after certain levels.
8: Triple Triad, is the first step to becoming insanely overpowered, to the point where you could have high enough stats to beat the final boss, after only playing the game for as little as 2 hours. The first GF you acquire, Quezacotl, can learn an ability called Card Mod which will refine you Triple Triad cards into items and magic. And in the first 2 hours of the game, you can have your hands on some of the most powerful magic spells and abilities in the game.
7: Always check a bosses draws! Bosses not only have strong magic spells to draw, but they also have GFs that you can draw.
6: As you progress through the story, the game literally gives you step by step tutorials on how the games mechanics work. Read through them and understand them fully. The tutorial section in the menu also goes over these things in detail so you never get stuck. And if all else fails, the internet exists. Do a search on there and I'm sure you'll find what you need.
5: Your GF's learn abilities using AP earned from battle. Once a GF has learned an ability however, they will automatically select something new to learn. Make sure theyre learning something useful.
4: This is an Old RPG, and a japanese one at that. It's a long damn game. You're gonna want to know whats happening from time to time and you're gonna be out of the loop if you don't talk to npc's around the world. Whether it be completely useless dialogue that has nothing to do with the story, or MAJOR points that get the brain working, talking to everybody really helps you to appreciate the game even more. Plus, some conversations can lead you to hidden treasure and areas. And when it comes to free stuff, you never say no.
3: Some monsters will destroy you, and when this happens, sometimes your only hope is to spam your limit breaks. Keeping your health in the yellow is sometimes a good idea.
2: Make sure your magic is junctioned wisely. Make sure you're getting the most out of your magic by experimenting as you obtain them.
