The Ryback thing would have been so easy to book. Avoid putting him against CM Punk by giving him feuds with upper midcard guys, have him win the Royal Rumble, then challenge for the World Heavyweight title as Wrestlemania. Say what you will about Ryback now (critcism is warranted), but he was white hot at the time, and this would have been the best way to do it.

It was tough because he was a fill in for Cena, who had a short term injury and they already had a long term plan of having The Rock win the title and drop it to Cena in a rematch. I would've had either The Shield interfere or Paul Heyman gets another guy to screw him over and start a program with him building him up, shifting away from the title. He was white hot, but too green for the world title yet. They eventually put the Intercontinental Title on him as a stepping stone, but he never got any further due to the issues backstage

I always thought he shoulda won that last man standing match at extreme rules 2013 and then lose the 3 stages of hell match at payback. While a short run it would’ve made the cena feud more interesting

The 1-day reign for Kane always pissed me off. Then they had opportunities to push him from 2000-2003 and never pulled the trigger. They booked everything about him so well from 1997-1998 then they just ran out of ideas and clearly didn’t see him as champion.

I felt that the only reason Kane won the WWE Championship at KOTR 1998 was so that viewers won't be traumatized by the image of Kane setting himself on fire, which he had threatened to do if he did not win. But the main story was focused more on Steve Austin as WWE champion, and Vince McMahon trying all means to make him lose the title. I would've gladly accepted it if the WWE Championship was awarded to Kane at Breakdown 1998, instead of a double pinfall and a no-contest between Kane and Undertaker at Unforgiven 1998. Kane wasn't taken seriously as a monster heel the moment he fell to several Stone Cold Stunners in 1998. It was even worse when his Intercontinental Championship reigns in 2001 and 2002 were mediocre, brief and overshadowed by ridiculous storylines like that Katie Vick angle. He was seen more as a tag team champion between 1998 to 2013. I felt that Kane's reign as World Heavyweight Champion from July to December 2010 was merely meant to compensate for that 1 day WWE title reign, and also his forgettable reign as ECW Champion.

@@patrickfinnegan7489 he wasn’t a main event player. He was someone they COULD’VE made a main event player. He was always there, very rarely in the main event, usually not one on one, and if it was it was just to be buried by HHH. He was on the cusp of being a main event player for 30 years. You say he was because it felt like he was, because he should’ve been. But he wasn’t. That’s what’s frustrating. He was a main event punching bag, but not a serious contender.

WWE could have easily had Cody Rhodes beat Roman, and then have Paul Heyman come out with a contract that specifically listed the match was only for the WWE Championship and not the Universal. You get Rhodes as a full time champ and Roman still reaches 1000 days as Universal champ. Missed opportunity.

That’s why they brought the new belt and put it on Rollins. But there’s really nobody else to take his place. Rollins is and always will be one of the best main eventers in WWE. One thing most Roman fans bring up is that he has banger matches every time he does defend the title. And that’s partly agreed. But this past match with Jey was terrible. Slow paced bc he got injured early. And he hasn’t been seen since summerslam. They really should’ve brought the black belt back to raw. It should’ve been a title split match at Wrestlemania. But about Rollins. Nobody is over with the crowd like Rollins on raw rn except Jey, Sammy, or Owens. Or Cody. But that’s not happening. Putting the briefcase on Priest was the dumbest fucking thing ever. And now he has the tag belts as well. So they’ve backed themselves into a corner again. Priest is a mid card performer. If you ask me. I think they should put the WHC on Gunther

To be honest, Otis as a working class everyman against a Tribal Chief is the type of old school Flair vs Dusty feud I'd love to see. You can even make Otis say "Nobody thought I'd get the girl, I did. Nobody thought I'd get the case. I DID! Nobody believes I can beat you, Roman. But you know what they say, three time's the charm! YEAAAAAAH!"

Gave Otis, Baron Corbin and Austin theory the briefcase when they weren’t really over(well Otis was a bit over and should of cashed in) but they wouldn’t give LA Knight the case when he was there most over star on the roster

The problem with Knight having it this year is that Roman still has a title and then won't wheel him out now until his match with Cody. Which means you'd have to have Knight challenge Seth which would be face vs face which honestly wouldn't work well either. So Priest getting the case makes the most sense. It means the case is in the hands of one of the heel stables and as such leads to good storylines with Seth. Plus the back and forth between Priest and Balor has been an absolute highlight that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise. My bet is that Knight wins the next rumble and challenges Priest for the World Heavyweight. While Cody takes on Roman for the Universal at Wrestlemania.

In a nutshell, "anything involving WWE managements obsession with Roman Reigns". Seriously. He, and that obsession are #1 on my list of why I stopped watching wrestling... after watching it regularly since I was a kid in the mid 80s. I held on as long as I could, hoping the boring RR experiment would finally come to a close and they would focus on OTHER talent. But finally had to give up. And I have found out that in my absence, the obsession has only gotten worse, and expanded to the Usos too (2 wrestlers I could never stand, and only got more grating). WWE killed things so badly for me that I couldn't even enjoy AEW when it came around...

Having Roman being on top as champion for 3 years is booking themselves in a corner. Now while Roman needed a character change. Nobody said he had to be top champion for 3 years. The story has dragged on entirely too long. Nothing but long segments, he still can't cut promos which is why he has Paul Heyman as his manager. And the Usos and Solo consistently interfering in his matches.

Booker T vs Triple H. They had built this up as if Booker was for sure going to win the title over the insufferable bully Triple H had become by that point. Everyone was ready for Hunter to lose the title… everyone except the WWE itself. It didn’t help that Booker was completely buried due to it taking forever for HHH to cover him after a Pedigree.

It did not pay off... Everyone just wants him to drop the title now... Wrestlemania main event this year isn't even about a great match, it's about the end of a nightmare and the beginning of a possible cool storyline for the wrestler who is actually the biggest in the world right now.

I still feel like Austin Theory should've cashed in on the NXT Championship. Charlotte Flair won the women's Royal Rumble and challenged by the NXT Women's Championship, so no reason for Theory not to cash in for the men's. It also would've made the NXT Championship feel more important by having the MITB winner cash in on it, regardless if the cash in was successful or not. Better than what we really got.

I honestly think of Theory cashed in during the Summer Slam last man standing match would have been perfect. He waited for Brock and Roman to knock eachother out, and then comes out, inserts himself into the match and just takes selfies with an unconscious Brock and Roman. The most Austin Theory thing to do

Kane vs. Austin wasn't a creative blunder at all--the entire point of the plot was that there was no realistic way for Austin to win, as engineered by Mr. McMahon. The Undertaker being responsible for Austin's loss set up their feud, and Kane's hotheaded decision to allow Austin a title shot in spite of McMahon's protestation the next night on Raw made logical sense. Most importantly, it made for an EXCITING and INTERESTING story with SURPRISES, qualities that are completely missing when you decide champions have to hold the belt for years and years, which is boring and predictable AF.

Hell In A Cell matches ending in a “no-contest” is the biggest insult to the talent, the fans and the whole business! It was designed to bring finality to a feud. Also, do they not know how to come up with a finish that makes both participants still look “strong” anymore? They want to protect the challenger, but not drop the title, there are ways to do that. It’s a tough finish to have as the main event of Mania, but you could have a draw… maybe a Last Man Standing match where both men go to war and neither can answer the 10 count… again, not easy to do for a Mania main event, but it keeps the title on the champion without taking credibility from the challenger. But they don’t know how to tell stories with in-ring action and psychology anymore.

Demon versus Roman. It was so weird to me. I was genuinely excited before the rope gave because they were playing the theme song, and it felt like an anime moment where the protagonist theme song comes on. Part of me also was thinking that they accidentally played it early like he was supposed to win and there was just no explanation.

Hell in a Cell 2018 had an easy and awesome way out in my opinion. You had Corbin, a GM who lost his MITB title match. It was easy for corbin to book the match (without Braun MITB) and keep the briefcase for himself. Then having Corbin trying to cash in during the match and get pinned by Reigns. You could have then fired Corbin from GM position, avoiding that stupid segment in which Corbin got fired because of low Raw ratings. And have Corbin as the only person in WWE history to lose MITB cash-in twice. They even developed a character down the line for him as a desperate man who lost everything

You know I really feel like WWE could have had Cody go for the WWE title . Maybe in a storyline that had Roman not accepting his match offer because he was able to beat Seth Rollins 3 times in a row . Something Roman has never been able to do . Cody convinces Roman to just put up the WWE tittle and that way Cody finishes the story , Roman is still 1000 day champ and now we’re back to having two titles that feel equally important , since the tribal chief had to be defeated to gain one of them .
