Thank you Sir! This is about the best bush stove I've yet seen, now I have to make it. So elegant but efficient! Materials easy to find nothing exotic at all THANKS!!

I like his logical, common sense thought process. This is a design that makes sense, and cost is negligible. A metal 3 pound coffee can would work here too. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

I don't know for sure but I think it might be easier and safer to do the layout on the can lid, before you cut it open. No sharp edges and better measuring surfaces...

Built mine just like it ,works like he said , used small dry pieces of limbs (twigs) ,stared fire with 25 oz of H2O , rolling boil in 4 1/2 minutes , boiled for 10 mins. by adding more sticks ! Works fine !

Great cheap stove idea. I built one and it works great. I found that if you use the top bit of leftover coat hanger(the bit with the curved hook and twisted neck) and put it through the loop of coat hanger that sticks outside the can(the crook of the v shape), it makes a pretty good handle.

Great video. I haven't heard anyone refer to a "church key" can opener since my father passed away in 1998. I think I will tell my 22 year-old twin sons to "go upstairs and get me a church key" when they come home next just to see the look on their faces.

It took ages here in Holland to find one at a thriftstore, but found no one to tell me they remember what this is. T|he key to the church?? Go ask the nuns!

That's brilliant! I plan to build one ASAP! Thanks for your nice clear instructions, and the ready availability of your materials, with only the can itself to be bought, with food in it that will be heated and eaten once the stove is built. I sure prefer this to going to a hardware store for $20 - $30 worth of parts, and spending all day cutting, grinding, welding, and assembling the stove. Survival shouldn't be expensive, complicated, or difficult for the average person. I have a source for #10 cans and wire coat hangers, so I think I will make a number of these to share! ❤

First I want to say thank you for sharing I like the idea and the concept of making your own homemade burner just like any other projects... But.. my only concern first safety and health is concerned with burning and cooking with food cans.. is the concern of being exposed to BPA -biffenol A.. which is known to cause cancer.. and the research that I've done North Carolina and 10 other states uses the plastic biffin all a to coat most canned goods.. not to spoil anybody picnic just a concern an awareness... Thank you for sharing .I would appreciate any feedback on my comment
