Thanks! This was so useful. I loved how unpretentious you guys are…not trying to show off or use fancy editing or trying too hard to be funny or hip. This is the best video I’ve seen so far on Tahiti; and I’ve watched many (most are vanity clips that offer zero useful information). Looking forward to more of your videos.

Just found your channel. Love it. Cash really is king if you’re going to live like a local. Resort living you can get away with living on a card, but to be independent and do your own thing, you’re totally right to get cash. New subs.

Exchanging cash doesn’t usually "avoid fees", it’s the most expensive rip off ever - the spread on the exchange rate is usually ~2+% vs like 0.5% via ATM withdrawals using your bank card. The bank might charge a fee dollars for the service but it’s at a vastly superior rate in many cases. Bank dependent obviously, but just something to be aware of.

Is the food cheaper at Vaitape or main island? It looks like most resorts have a complimentary boat/shuttle to the main island. I am wondering if it we can save money if we eat lunch at main island instead of the resort.

It is, it’s just the inconvenience of having to leave to eat can get a little annoying or time consuming. But it is cheaper on the main island

la orana....planning a trip to the french polynesia for my husband's bday. Can I book different islands once in Tahiti or should I do it beforehand?
@Fittwotravel
@Fittwotravel 23 күн бұрын
You can do it there, but there is limited availability on the planes so I would recommend doing it beforehand. Depending on the islands, there are certain days they fly. You can look online and find the days they fly. If you have trouble, email them and they can help you plan it out!

What kind of food is allowed to travel in with from US? Our flight gets in really late & I have food issues. But it doesn’t sound like there is much we can bring in?
@Fittwotravel
@Fittwotravel 2 ай бұрын
From our understanding, you can bring things that are packaged, so like protein bars, jerky, canned tuna… You can’t bring like fresh meat or home cooked meals. I think as long as it’s in its original container and sealed, it shouldn’t be a problem.

This was useful but I'm surprised you didn't talk about mosquitoes since you were both scratching throughout the whole video!!
@Fittwotravel
@Fittwotravel 7 ай бұрын
Haha yeah we don’t really talk about mosquitos because wherever we go we get bit. Both of us just have blood they love, and we haven’t found anything that helps. But mosquitos 🦟 are prevalent for sure

@Fittwotravel I live in Akaska so I understand!! When I lived in Missouri I took garlic pills to avoid getting bit by ticks. It worked!! I enjoyed your video very much & look forward to visiting French Polynesia next fall for the 1st time. Thank you for sharing!! Happy trails! 👣 🌞

That’s awesome ! You will have a blast! Hopefully you get great weather. Did you check out our other videos on the French poly ? Yes we used to scarf down garlic pills, they seemed to work sometimes but not all the time. Hopefully one day the mozzies will get tired of us

Were the mosquitoes bad?
@Fittwotravel

We aren’t the best people to base that on, as we are mosquito 🦟 magnets. We get bit wherever we go. I would say they were bad, but not as bad as other places we have gone.

“Francs?” Even France doesn’t use Francs. Lol 😄 At least not in over a hundred years (1999 to be exact ;-) It’s all Euro in Europe…but go on. Do they like their own currency?

Idk 🤷🏾 what to tell you that’s what they use there. I imagine they like using the currency fine, everyone uses it.
