a bit late to this video, I’m a sophomore doing pre-nursing , one tip I have is that if your presentations for class are posted by your professor before hand, either print them or download them to your iPad and just write annotations while listening to the lecture during class ! This will be easier as you won’t have to worry about trying to take notes on top of listening and comprehending during lectures , I used to take hours writing notes , but it ended up in me just copy and pasting and not actually learning, instead I just highlight main information and will add any other details during lecture 🤗 10:38

i recently learnt that my study techniques are perhaps not working for nursing school as well as they did in high school... currently researching to create better study habits that focus on comprehending rather than memorising (nothing wrong with memorising, but in this field it's more important to be able to transfer knowledge into practices than to being able to cite a book word by word), so these tips came in handy!

Being an hour early is good advice cause once u actually get used to it, u could use that advantage of going to work an hour early and sleep in the car before u go to work

I have Funda and Health Assessment this sem and I'm trying to reach for the stars especially because it's hard for me to absorb information I honestly wanted to retake AnaPhy but the Dean didn't want to lol I try to have notes in advance to just take down important notes in discussion Edit: in second year now going to third year in two months... I really need to review a LOT. It's hard for me to retain information. I hope I can do better

I got mostly B's in my first semester. But, it seems like as the classes/semesters got harder, my grades got better🤷🏾‍♀️ I got an A in Mother/Baby and MedSurg class (actually enjoyed acid/base balance questions) But I'm NEVER confident and I freak out so bad before and after a test. My last 3 tests were a 95.4, 95.3, 91.4... I'm starting to think that the teachers are cheating for me 😅. If all goes well, I will end this semester with a 4.0, assuming I pass my final with a 90 or better next week.

@Madiha Kakar I bought a huge whiteboard, and I use that to put s/sx concepts on the board that I can't remember. I stare at the board so long that I can actually see it when I take my tests. I use the book as well, but only in my 1st semester. I still read it, but not in its entirety anymore. I only read what I do not understand or what I need more knowledge on. I also watch videos on different concepts that we are being tested on. I test my knowledge by doing nclex style questions related to said concepts. And I do questions CONSTANTLY every day related to the concept until I am proficient. If I'm being lazy... I record myself saying causes of a disease process, s/sx of that disease process, and interventions for the disease process. I label it, and I listen to it through my earbuds when I'm cooking, cleaning, driving to school, taking a walk, or when I'm grocery shopping. That's A LOT I know but maybe when u get to nursing school, you will devise your own way of studying.
