To fail or not to fail that is the question ... After traveling to Ninh Binh we realized our trip could have been 10 times easier if only we had found some helpful advice! So here are our 10 Tips to make your Ninh Binh Trip a SUCCESS.
Ninh Binh is a city in North Vietnam located 93km south of Hanoi where you can visit some pretty cool places such as:
- Trang An - An incredible 3 hr boat tour in what seems to be a Jurassic Park movie set.
- Hang Mua - Some of the prettiest viewpoints of Vietnam
- Tam Coc - Boat tour near the rice paddies
- Hoa Lu - The ancient capital of Vietnam

HOW MUCH DID IT COST? We don't talk about it in the video but 3 days in Ninh Binh were pretty cheap, here is what we spent:
- Accommodation for 3 nights: 35€
- Food: 39€
- Drinks: 12.8€ (talk about necessity we needed a beer or two after this climb!)
- Transport (train + scooters for 2 days + parking): 38.8€
- Activities: Hang Mua - 8,4€ + Trang An - 21€
TOTAL = 155€

I was dying climbing up those steps when I was in ninh binh too. I didn't dare climb to the dragon but the view from the top was amazing.

Was riding the scooter around easy and safe? And did you need a license to rent?

Hey! That was Charlie's first time ever and it was fairly easy, almost like an electric scooter. They didn't ask for our licence when we rented them, but you'll need it if you get pulled over (although we didn't see any cops!)

Although the guides say 500 steps, the steps are not evenly spaced or measured so it probably comes out to 1,000 regular size stair-steps! It's said the lying dragon would bring good luck, health and wealth to those who in person touch or see it.

It surely felt like a 1,000 steps and I definitely think health would come walking those steps everyday to touch the dragon hahaha!

You have chosen the wrong season to visit VN . Never ever go there or anywhere else in South East Asia in Summer and during the rainy season . The best time to visit Vietnam is between December and end of March . The weather would be cooler , dryer and more pleasant to enjoy your trip
