idk if it sounds obvious but you can hold the guard button and just pull back in rythm to the combo to instant guard. Since I didn't play fighting games much previously, I first thought they were negating chip but messing up timing meant damage, I did the training exercise and it said it gives a bit of meter so I thought the drawback should be timing for meter since it said that you can't use the guard button for it, but then I just reflex guard and pull back and the "Just !" text appeared, I was a bit confused so i loaded a dummy to auto combo, and it just works for some reason ? Might help in case of gaps in blockstrings since if you mess instant guard timing, you still get the regular guard from the button

Would love to see you cover a more in depth guide on throws. They seem to be really tricky and have made me scratch my head confusion as to how some people have gotten throws off in some situations.

Thanks, I didn’t know easy inputs had the same cooldown and damage. The last one I got use to the easy inputs just to figure out the damage was lower and it sucked trying to force my muscle memory to do technical inputs again.

I think the creating gaps in my pressure is the hardest to grasp. I can't seem to feel out my spacing on when you can auto combo or when you can poke and then go into an auto combo into special. Like @ 6:00 do you hit a light, pause, then go into medium auto combo? So I should be able to poke, delay, and auto? I don't understand how to apply pressure and do offense yet, what do I meaty with? From my little time in the game so far it seems dp's arent as bad a trade for chip damage and offense, plus you can put their dp's on cool down

I'm going to ask a weird question but do you have tips to control the number of times you press a button? My issue is that if I try to do more deliberate button presses I don't play fast enough to keep up with the speed of the game, but if I try to keep up with the game I end up pressing buttons multiple times in a row. i've been playing Zeta so far and her spear thrust special is really cool but I keep doing the followups instantly because of that because I've double tapped the button without meaning to. Or I've tried some combos that use the EX version that can followup twice and when I need to do it in different direction I end up doing one direction multiple time in a row without meaning to so even if I try to get to the other direction I've ran out of followup. Like, it's not a problem with not knowing *what* to do, I know the order I'm supposed to press the button is, I'm just not sure how to control the number of press you do on a button while also trying to go fast. (like, by contrast if I try to only press the followup deliberately I'll just do none at all instead cause by the time I press again it's too late).

Weird question, but what's the best control to play this game with? Having so many buttons makes using keyboard a nightmare

Actually using bravery points can be quite good, if they counter they would lose 2 of them AND when you hit them again with it you will deplete all their bravery points setting you up for a good combo with a super that will do like 200% damage?

I have a question. Ive been having trouble canceling my buttons into specials using using the skill button. I can cancel into light specials using the traditional inputs just fine. But not the skill button. Is that a mechanic?

I moved from GGS and was wondering how everyone kept clipping my approaches and you can’t dash block? Jesus I’m an idiot

Sadly I feel as though everything that was mentioned here has gone over my head and add to that the problem that I can't get a feel for when it's safe for me to stop blocking, my spacing sucks and I just can't even get close to zoners just makes it a worthless 30+hours of me trying to get good and not getting good. I wish the game had a survival mode like BBtag and Strive. Still its nice to see people like you tryin' an' help players like me. Keep it up hopefully i won't quit this one.

Some of this stuff makes the game kinda trash like the universal light dash attack having frame advantage and the lack of brave points leading to more damage. It just makes a game where offense is the name of the game, feel cheap.

Been playing fighting games since street fighter in the arcade and this literally one of the most brain dead fighting games I have ever played. Cannot wait for Tekken 8.
