Another workflow tip that you guys could showcase in a later video is dragging dropping an image directly from the web browser without downloading and adding as reference pic. Open any image in the browser as a new tab and then drag it to krita. Saved me countless time of searching through folders or downloading stuff I dont use.

Thanks for this video - I was expecting way more obvious tricks, so I'm happily surprised. Not sure if I will use this new view feature but it's really cool to know I can do so. My favorite trick would be color picker, very similar to this in docker, but as a keyboard shortcut popup - just as this shade selector. It's good to know there are many different color pickers as keyboard popups - anybody can find his own :)

A way to improve the brush selector/filter is to have a keyboard-only way to do it. In Krita 5.1.3, I can press 'B' to activate the brush tool, and if I want to search through the brushes I need to use the mouse to click the "search" field and then start typing. Thus, there's a keying action, a hover action (move hand from keyboard to mouse), a pointing action and then more keying to type the search criteria. This takes time, and it quickly adds up if you change brushes often. I propose the following UX - BB. Thus, if you pres 'B' you select the brush tool, just like now. But if you press BB (i.e. B and then B again in a quick succession), the focus is set to the search field, so you can go ahead and start typing the brush name right away.

I really love how much Krita has changed over the years. But there's still one thing to this day I'm still waiting for to be finally added, and that's to view the audio wave for animation. I'm more focus on the animating side and would really wish for that feature to be added, because its notoriously difficult to do lip-syncing by just listening to the audio. I just gave up with an animation not nearly half way because it's because viewing the audio wave form is more convenient than to listen to it and time my lip-sync just right.

It would be great if you could make a video that shows how to follow the text instructions for making a brush that includes gradients with multiple colors in it, and has control over the softness or hardness of all of the edges of the brush. Also, how to make that brush all one opacity (instead of changing opacitites, depending on what direction the brush stroke is made in). I'm really struggling with this stuff. I finally figured out how to make and save a basic brush to the brush toolbar, and how to get it to have multiple color gradients, but the last two things (softness for all brush edges, and having the same opacity regardless of brush stroke direction) are both tricks that I can't seem to figure out on my own.

The new view + LUT management tip was very helpful! I've used it a couple of times but when I tried to use it today it didn't work, which is why I came back to this video. Luckily I was able to fix it by changing the setting to tab then back to subwindow :) Though I still have a minor issue, and it has to do with my cursor color. For some reason it's no longer black but in a contrasting color to where I move the cursor. Configuring it in the settings does nothing.

Interesting, I filed several feature requests some time ago, and had to try to convince the developers that it was worthwhile because it would improve workflow (time). They weren't interested. Yet, this video points out the advantages of better workflows. Somehow, I get the feeling the developers only implement what they want to. I understand they can't do everything, my proposition was clearly a time saver, they even commented so themselves, but felt that "not many people" would use it. Otherwise, I love Krita. Excellent software.
4 жыл бұрын
Can i see your request? do you have a link? As you describe limited resources means limited development, but they listen carefully what we propose. Then it can be forgotten for a long time until somebody remember it. Who knows. But i would like to see your proposal. Thanks for your comment

@@KritaOrgPainting Hey, I watched the video again, and just now am I realizing that toolbars can be moved. I'm so silly. Still, I love adding to toolbars, mostly because I'm trying to make the habit of doing some sketching sessions without using the keyboard at all, and they have sped up that part of the workflow considerably. Looking forward to more videos!

cool tips well i did know about the double view trick i use it a lot in my works and yeah i candida did know about the brush engine how to speed up the stroke but if you wanna have speed brush just change the format of the canonize size like 1366x725 pixels i thing that is the default size in autodest sketchbook no joke and sai also works in the same formats i didn't realize it till i made an expiration after i found an tutorial of how to paint fast in Photoshop but you guys need to show me how to make customize UI i wanna create like 4 one for animation - only the layers , the time steps for the animation and again only on the brush paled one painting - i only use the paled and double view for example and the layers sorry i like it clean now a days one for tail maps and maybe one for comics only - like example AD from adobe who is on pages and if i can switch between them like Photoshop and his build in UI for example or blender

Thanks for the great tips. Any chance that your going to make a digital painting course for krita? Also is there any to rename the toolbar icon names 11:14 ? I purchased your muses course and you can rename them in krita 2.9 but it doesn't seem like you can do that in krita 4.

I'd love to have the custom toolbar you mentioned at 11:30. Did you make a video about this topic already? I would definitely watch and thumbs-up it!

I just wonder, is it possible someday the toolbar be moveable to left or right side? Since put it on the top is quite eat room, bcoz we also can't hide the filename bar even in canvas only mode. And still hope the shortcut name change-able again like in v2.9. since there is shorcut that hv very loooong name and eat much toolbar room.
