Aud / Anyanka / Anya Jenkins - Buffy The Vampire Slayer Went from being a throwaway villain of the week, to stand-out reoccurring cast member, to series regular in half a season. Ostensibly the comedic foil, she was layered with such incredible pathos, child-like naivety, an hilariously brutal bluntness, selfishness, hopefulness and a thousand year backstory. She could go from terrifying to pitiful in a glance. How Emma Caufield didn't walk away from her hair-brush speech in 'The Body' without an Emmy is literally anybody's guess. It was criminal. Indeed, the only injustice she faced that was worse than that - was her heroic, yet blink & you'd miss it death in the series finale - mentioned almost in passing the man she was supposed to marry, who 'mourned her loss', by simply smirking and saying she died stupidly. While he was absolutely right, I have never seen a beloved character done so dirty on TV before or since. It infuriates me to this day. F**k Joss Whedon.

It’s not really surprising in retrospect, Joss is horrible to the women on his sets and the charcaters in his shows in a multitude of ways and even tho I still love buffy, I can’t really help seeing the shit he happily puts them through. Anya deserved better, Cordelia and Fred deserved better. They all did.

I already knew that they were gonna die in Supernatural. Jensen said for years that's what he wanted and expected nothing less. I just didn't know HOW it was gonna happen. It wasn't the worst ending, he did die during a fight, it was just sad that he didn't even get a chance to live, and you would have expected Jack to do something. Or the death be more cool. But honestly I would have no idea how to have him die any other way.

How I Met Your Mother dropped the ball so hard in it's finale. The cause was that the directors had always planned for Ted to end up with Robin. But several seasons and a ton of character growth later, these friends became much different people from who they originally were, thus the original ending doesn't fit.
@cannibalbananas2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that ending ruined the whole show for me. Glad I saw the alternative ending. That's the one I prefer.
@crystaldietz64192 жыл бұрын
They handled the whole thing so poorly. As a woman I hate the representation of the female characters but the biggest thing was how Tracy was treated as a filler for him to have kids and even with that aspect, robin and Ted were actually horrible together. When one person has to change so much of themselves to be acceptable to their partner it’s not love.

You missed Connor Trineer’s Lt. Cmdr. Charles Anthony “Trip” Tucker III from Star Trek: Enterprise. His demise in the series finale “These are the Voyages...” angered fans because the death seemed tacked on and wasn’t really necessary. Even the cast felt so; its why Trip winked at Capt. Jonathan Archer when he was entering Sick Bay. Thankfully, and non canon or not, the Enterprise novels The Good That Men Do, Kobayashi Maru, and others explained the seeming ‘death’ away as a clever way to infiltrate the Romulan Empire to sabotage their nascent Warp Seven program. Merry Christmas! 🎅🏼🎁🎉

i'm not the first to say this but what's so maddening about dean's death is that it basically rendered the whole show moot; dean died during a hunt while sam went on to live a normal live, which would've happened if the first few episodes never happened. 15 years of all *that* and ultimately nothing changed
@zach19722 жыл бұрын
If you actually watch the show, you'd know that Dean dying is the only ending he has coming, we also already know that death isn't even the end, he will literally continue living IN heaven, open your definition of living when it comes to Supernatural
@chantellecumberbatch6507 Жыл бұрын
I hate how Supernatural fans are bending over backwards to rationalize the crap ending that was given to us. The writers literally undid all the character growth that we saw in his character time and time again and did everything they could to make Dean the lesser brother so we wouldn't get upset when they ganked him. He was the stupid one, the reckless one, the insecure one, the selfish one, the one who only saw in black and white, the one who would burn the world down to save his brother. His life was always about what others needed from him. But he was never his own person. People act like Dean was less deserving of living a long life because he enjoyed hunting and would grieve his brother's loss but Sam continued to hunt and mourned Dean til the day he died. Truth is, Dean was never really given an opportunity to be anything other than canon fodder because from season one, his life revolved around protecting Sam, a toxic trait he was bestowed by his father.

I figured Dean wouldn't get a happy ending. He was completely devoted to hunting, so much so, that it was the most important thing to him. No only was that the only way Dean could die, but I think that's exactly how Dean wanted to.
@busu342 жыл бұрын
I agree. There was also an episode where Chuck showed that he gave the brothers luck because they were the main characters. With Chuck gone, they no longer had the luck. So I am not surprised Dean went out that way.

@@busu34 thats exactly it, they had plot armour written into the show. That plot armour was taken away and they died like any other normal hunter. My only gripe with the ending was the missing characters but Covid is to blame for that as people couldn't travel and the whole covid bubble thing.
@gilbertrodriguez6902 жыл бұрын
Yep. Anyone who watched and actually followed the brothers would know that Dean was never meant for a quiet life. Even in the episodes where he was living a normal life there was always something missing for him. Hunting was all he knew and that's was the only way for him to go out happy. He knew that as long as he was hunting Sam would never stop doing the same and all he ever wanted for Sam was for him to live the normal life he deserved. This was the perfect send off for Dean and the opportunity for Sam to live the normal life Dean wanted him to.

The only Game of Thrones death that actually angered me (aside from the bs of Season 8) was Berristan Selmy's death. We only see him fight once and he technically ends it in a draw against untrained masked assassins. It was such a stupid way to kill him off. I was fine with the prospect of him dying, but the execution was really underwhelming. Another death I greatly disliked was Siddiq. His death was so pointless and added nothing to anyone's development. All it gave us was Gabriel murdering his killer in a rage and after that it was almost as if he never existed. Plus, this was the guy Carl saved by sacrificing himself. So it made Carl's pointless death even more pointless. I'll also call attention to Tara Thornton's death in Trublood. She was a main character from Season 1 and she gets killed off screen? Season 7 of Trublood is pure trash from top to bottom, because it was clear the people behind it were either burned out or just didn't care any more.

One particularly annoying thing about Curtiss' death in 24 is that they seemed to play that Curtiss and Jack were longtime colleagues, when technically they had only met the three days since Jack was in hiding between Seasons 4 and 5 and in a Chinese prison between Seasons 5 and 6. One death that pissed many fans off was Tara in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I understand her death was necessary for the Season 6 finale, but Season 7 was a lot emptier without her, and we got the horrible replacement with Kennedy.

George O'Malley in Grey's Anatomy. Because of all the controversy over Isiah Washington calling T. R. Knight a F****t and being fired from the show, they then decided to wash their hands of T. I'm gonna have to disagree about Dean Winchester/Supernatural. Having him go out in such a "simple" way was smart and made for an ending that provided closure. Sam was now freed up to hunt however he saw fit and to start his own life for himself, which was ahem, a crux underlying theme of the show (Sam was dragged out of Law School to hunt). The final was awesome and satisfying (*only jips were due to COVID some actors couldnt be in the finale and that stunk but whaddya gonna do?)

I thought deans final death was very deep because it showed that before all his epic deads where written by god himself in the supernatural universe, his dead at the end showed that all the big bads where finally gone and a simple slip up was enough to kill him, because Chuck was no longer the god who wrote the epic story.

The actor died in real life after 6 episodes of the 2nd season , yet they had him killed off, yet it revealed that on the 2nd season finale, his only friend/detective Bum gave him a mercy killing because JR was slowly dying and doesn't want the family to notice. While not as popular as the 'WHO SHOT JR EWING' cliffhanger/story arc in the '80s, the 'WHO KILLED JR EWING' was an interesting story arc for the reboot, unfortunately without JR (and John Ross filling his shoes), the show was canceled after the 3rd season finale. But he is, if not the best, greatest TV villains of all time.

Dean's death was bull. They could and should have done something better. Also, when they killed off Croley, but never brought him back.... that was crap too.

My Top 10 Worst TV Deaths: Neal/Baefire (Once Upon a Time) Scarlett Harker (Van-Helsing) Jerome Valeska (Gotham) Fish Mooney (Gotham) Leftenant Abagail Mills (Sleepy Hollow) Joseph Corbin (Sleepy Hollow) Kelly Burkhardt (Grimm) Winifred "Fred" Burkle (Angel) Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (Angel/BTVS) Sasha (The Walking Dead) Junior (Chucky) Honorable Mentions/Redeemed Deaths: Belle (Once Upon a Time) - Died peacefully was and the catalyst for Rumple giving up being The Dark One Julius (Van-Helsing) - Died sacrificing himself to save the Van-Helsing sisters, allowing them to save humanity and end the Vampire Apocalypse by killing the 2nd most powerful Vampire only behind Dracula herself, though still think he of all people deserved to make it out alive or at least get to reunite with Vanessa. Captain Frank Irving (Sleepy Hollow) - Died in order to defeat The Horseman of War, however was later resurrected as Henry Parrish's minion for a time until the death of Henry Parrish, causing Irving to return to the good man he once was, deciding to leave Sleepy Hollow for good for the sake of his "Ex" wife and daughter, never to be seen again Juliette Silverton (Grimm) - Longtime love interest/nearly fiance of protagonist Nick Burkhardt and fan favorite since episode 1, Juliette was a beloved member of the cast, frequently the supportive caring one until season 4 when she becomes a Hexenbiest and due to a mixture of her inital fear to reveal this to anyone and subsequently receive any help, her growing aggression and cold demeanor that unbeknownst to her is a natural part of all Hexenbiests, and her growing enthusiasm towards her new powers result in her becoming unstable, ultimately leading to her using her trust to set up a trap and betray Nick's mother Kelly by saying her and Nick were in danger and need her help, resulting in the beheading of Kelly, causing an enraged and hurt Nick and friends to declare all out war against her ending with Trubel having to shoot Juliette, the woman she considered a sister, presumably killing her. Later it's revealed that Juliette survived and captured by Hadrians Wall, a secret group fighting on the same side as the protagonists without their knowledge, and many months and attempts later, through the use of mental reconditioning, torture, and countless other unimaginable methods they were able to turn her into a weapon of mass destruction, reborn as Eve who despite having the memories and appearance of Juliette, considered her dead and claimed to be a different person entirely until she was fatally wounded and had to healed by the shard of the staff of Zerstorer, which caused Eve to change drastically, no longer appearing emotionless and solely driven by whatever mission she was on, instead appearing incredibly scared and confused, even showing genuine concern for Nick and her friends, going as far as threating Adalind, Nick's former enemy turned new love-interest and mother of his child, if she ever hurts Nick then she will come for her. This seemingly shows the shard not only healed Eve's physical wounds, but also her mental ones, causing the good Juliette to resurface inside Eve's mind but due to the guilt over everything shes done, decides not to disclose this information and instead pretends she is still just Eve Deaths That Would Ruin Their Shows Carol (The Walking Dead) Trubel (Grimm) Jennifer Mills (Sleepy Hollow) Oswald Cobblepot (Gotham) Lorne (Angel) Spike (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel) Alice/Beth Kane (Batwoman) Lexy (Chucky) Regina Mills/The Evil Queen (OUAT)

I dont know why people were surprised that Dean died in Supernatural. If yall really paid attention Dean was never string enough to live without Sam. His emotional dependence on Sam was always a weakness. Sam was always more emotionally stable than Dean. I was sadbut not shocked. I knew.

The only thing I'm curious* about is how they're going to end it. Rick and Carl's gone... there's no way they can end it similar to the comics, unless they give Carl's ending to an 8 year old kid, and Rick's end to... whoever's left. There's no chance they'll be able to do it in a satisfactory way... maybe limply, just to set up whatever spin-offs they're supposed to have. *= curious not in a "must see TV" way, but more like a "train wreck so bad it needs to be seen to believed" way.

Well as someone who didn't stop watching after Glenn's death, I can say that Negan is now one of the best characters The Walking Dead has ever had. Btw, Glenn's son is so cute as a little Glenn!

@@kavehteimory6413 I hate that…..I hate that so much it makes me mad that I’m getting mad about a show, there is ZERO reason that Rick/Maggie/(the 2 women that Abe was banging or was trying to bang) didn’t kill negan. “Carl wouldn’t want me to kill you” FU*KING AWFUL. Maggie should have killed him with out hesitation but they wanted the viewers so they kept him cause he is crazy popular. Hope you had a good Christmas I hope that we can disagree and be chill about it…. Also the 1 guy with the cross bow should have killed negan 100 times over

Tracy’s death in HIMYM was *ENTIRELY* predictable since the show first started. It wasn’t more than an episode or two into things that I figured out that the *ONLY* reason Ted would be telling his kids these stories by himself was because she had died when they were very young. Anybody who didn’t figure it out long before the end just wasn’t paying enough attention.

I didn't have a problem with Glenn's death, thought it was pretty comic book accurate and awesome. I did however have a problem with them completely toning Negan down afterward, instead of making him the maniac he really was.
