I would not consider lifting with tissue a mistake. It makes beautiful clouds. Used properly, of course. Blotting randomly over paint layer is a case of a beginner or a child probably.

I'm retiring next week and will be taking up watercolour painting as my main retirement hobby. This is a much bigger subject than I'd anticipated which only excites me even more - so much to learn, so many ways to experience triumph and disaster! Can't wait to paint my first "proper" painting, but will start very slowly for now, lots of studies, build my confidence and experience - and keep your wonderful videos and generous advice close to hand at all times. I'm a total novice but your videos are immensely helpful to me - thank you, and thank you again😊 If you're ever giving a workshop in Yorkshire, please let me know.

Thank you, Michele, for suggesting a touch of pink added to the cooler blues. I never thought of doing that, but it will solve a delimma I am currently having. I tested both Cerulean and Pthalo and they looked too cool for the floral I'm painting. Adding some of the pink I'm using in the flowers should do it. Your videos are always so helpful. I appreciate the time and effort you put into doing them for us.

As a covid incarcerated absolute beginner of water colour painting, I would love to know how to paint a wild stormy sky and a dark moonlit sky. I have been binging on land and sea scape utube tutorials. Thank you for all the lovely tutorials and words of wisdom.

In the Studio with Michele Webber Wonderful, I’m so unsure about these techniques, what to do and at what point. I’ve been painting for 18 months and more recently in water colours following Anna Mason technique but I really want to spread my wings a bit now. I look forward to seeing how you do multi colour skies especially sunsets 😊

In the Studio with Michele Webber Yes she is an excellent tutor and I have learnt so much in the school, it’s very specific though, detail on hot press which I love but want to experiment more 😊 too much time on my hands now I’ve retired 😂

@@juliedavies3481 A lot of botanical artists use hot press. You get precision but it's not an easy way to work, as the paint is far more likely to puddle if you are inexperienced 😏

I will definitely be experimenting with a big sky study very soon. Although I use holbein almost exclusively, I did order the RT Opera Rose you spoke of for mixing. Pthalo , cerelean, and Prussian blue will be on my list as well. I saw your great video on mixing green and will swatch those as soon as I can. Holbein has a really beautiful line of greens also and if you or your students have never tried it, the holbein quinacridone gold is like having 4 or more different colors in one depending on the water added. Take care and thank you! You don't look at all like a corpse that was just dug up, you are very pretty English Rose 🌹
